Participant(s): -Eros Wakefield Remember: You will have the assisstance of the Beedrill, Stings. He will not be able to aid much in battle, but should be invaluable in finding Wings. You'll have to discover and recognize the hiding place of the Butterfree's captors.
Stings anxiously flutters in the trees, ready to head out further to the forest to look for his friend, Wings. It's a nice day out, with warm sun peacefully filtering through the leaves. But the Beedrill does not show any of the peace that is exhibited in its surroundings. He is tense and unhappy, just wishing to hurry and find his friend.

What would have normally been a peaceful stroll through Luscious Forest was transformed into a somber one as Eros crushed blades of grass underneath his feet, looking for his Beedrill guide in this circumstance. It was requested of him to help retrieve a kidnapped Butterfree and he did not plan to return fruitless. For motivation, he simply imagined how determined he would be if his own Mothim (or any of his Pokemon, honestly) had been the one stolen from him. Finally spotting the Beedrill, Eros broke into a light trot to get this show on the road.

As soon as Stings spotted you, he let out a terse greeting. With no time for pleasantries, he merely looked you over once, as if assessing your strength. Seemingly satisfied, he spun around and began to head through the forest. His wings beat furiously, and he moved quickly through the trees. Seeming to follow his intuition, or perhaps a faint scent, he continued along the path hurriedly. After several minutes of the brisk pace, he stopped and turned to face you. He gestured with the drills on his hand away from the path, then back towards the path, cocking his head questioningly. He appears to be asking you if you'd like to take a shorter route, but through the undergrowth (and more likely to encounter dangers) or if you'd rather stay on the path. It seems clear that one way or another, you'll eventually have to stray from the path if you're going to find the kidnappers.
-> Take the road less traveled -> Take the safer (for now), but longer route -> Scratch your head indecisively like a sitting Psyduck

After getting the show on the road, Stings and Eros were both on the move. Respectively they flew and jogged through the jungle, up until they came to an impasse. It seemed as though Beedrill knew not which path to take and delegated the decision to his human companion. Eros scratched his head for a moment before admitting, "Stings, I don't know which way to go." He looked over both paths, not particularly seeing the difference in them. "Why don't I ask for help, yeag? Let's go, Mothim!"
Eros reeled back and chucked the Pokeball, releasing his insect Pokemon in a flash of white light. Mothim was happy to stretch his wings, and even happier to see that on this mission he'd get to work with another flying bug type such as himself. "We need help, Mothim. Which way do you think we should go?" Mothim beat his wings while floating in the air before finally advancing forward slowly on the path that was longer but safer. Eros looked up at Beedrill before following his own Pokemon, trusting in his decision.

Beedrill nodded respectfully towards the Mothim, acknowledging his assisstance, before zooming along the path that the Mothim had chosen. His antennae twitched. Wings was in the forest, but it was still quite some distance from here. It was a wise decision to choose the safer path, for now. Quite a while passed, seeming to stretch on for maybe even an hour, and even the Beedrill's anxious ferocity began to dull. Still, he pressed on.
Finally he came to a full stop, and he turned to look at Eros. "Dri! Dri dri!" he said hoarsely, gesturing off the path. A faint shimmer came around, flittering between the trees. A Butterfree suddenly burst forth, waving antennae in a signal of hostility. The Beedrill tensed.
-> attack the Butterfree -> question the Butterfree -> ignore the Butterfree and push past it

After running for what seemed like forever, both of the bug Pokemon stopped suddenly in alarm. Eros stopped and looked around, wondering what it was that had put them on edge. It soon emerged from the treetops - a Butterfly (but not the one they were looking for, according to Drills's body language). "Mothim, see what's going on."
The Pokemon listened to his trainer's instructions and floated forward, not all too cautiously either. What seems to be the problem here? the Mothim called out in Poke-speak.

The Butterfree scowled darkly, "Leave this place immediately. You are trespassing upon Dreamflight's territory."
Stings glared, and replied, with quick stabbing motions of his drills, "Never! Not until you return my friend, Wings!"
The Butterfree fluttered closer daringly, and said smoothly, "We will all fight to protect what is rightfully Dreamflight's." At this, he turned to scan the Mothim and his trainer. He warned, "I suggest you tell your trainer to return the way you came." After a moment of the large red eyes resting on Eros, he conceded, "We refuse to give up without a fight! Dreamflight and his newly found love will not be disturbed."
Stings furiously shot forward, aiming a series of Fury Attacks at the Butterfree, "Wings is not his!"
-> grab Stings and run away -> watch the battle -> fight!

Eros looked on nervously, seeing that the three bugs were talking among themselves but he had no idea what was being said. Things looked to be getting heated. Mothim, simple and free as he was, took a backseat to let Sting and the wild Butterfree have their harsh words at one another. But then, Eros determined, too much had been said and the Pokemon decided it was time to fight!
Butterfree and Beedrill were about to go at it, and Eros knew that this distraction wasn't good for their mission. "Mothim, Poison Powder!" Mothim began to flap out purple smoke, trying to disable the hostile wild Pokemon so that they could continue on their way.

The Butterfree, who had been busy dodging Stings' attacks, did not have time to turn and see the Poison Powder before it was too late. Coated in the thick dust, Butterfree became poisoned and it gave off a sharp cry, hurling Stun Spore towards the Mothim and Beedrill.
It scowled, realizing that this battle had no hope of success. Even if it was just against the Mothim, he didn't think he could win. Hoping to slow them down, Butterfree fluttered wings quickly, sending Sleep Powder spiraling towards Eros. Then it turned tail, and, still poisoned, sped away.

Mothim thought quick as he saw the Stun Spore coming toward him. Flapping his wings quickly, he was able to negate the attack with a makeshift counter wind. Eros, on the other hand, had no such defense against the Sleeping Powder coming his way.
Eros yawned as Butterfree, poisoned, began to scurry off through the air. "Uh oh...," he said while beginning to drop to his knees. "I suddenly feel... soo... Zzzz." And like a light, Eros was down for the count, leaving Mothim to continue this mission without him.
Moooth! What do we do now? he chirped, looking toward Beedrill.

The Beedrill anxiously fluttered around the trainer. He didn't want to go on without the human, but then again the Mothim seemed fairly reliable. "That Butterfree was one of the kidnappers. Whatever happens we have to find Wings. It will lead us to her." He glanced around with his beady red eyes nervously.
-> stay and wake up Eros -> follow the Butterfree into the forest

The Mothim looked up from his trainer and at the Beedrill. He knew that there was truth in what Stings was saying; they couldn't let the guide to their kidnapped objective get away. He began to follow him, leaving his sleeping trainer alone.

The Beedrill abruptly hurried after the Butterfree. Luckily, it was leaving a trail of sparkling dust from its wings, probably from being damaged or maybe remnants of the Sleep Powder. Either way, they were able to follow the trail, and hurry after the fleeing Butterfree. Once their query had come back into sight, Stings slowed, beckoning with one large drill, asking the Mothim to stay close and quiet. He then continued stalking after the Butterfree, staying close to the trees in case he suddenly decided to turn around. After a long moment, two Dustoxes came into view. They hurried forward and inquired the Butterfree, asking what had happened. Stings cursed quietly, "I remember those two. They had been the ones distracting me while the Beautifly took off with Wings."
-> launch a surprise attack! -> come out of hiding and confront them -> wait and observe

As they followed the Butterfree, Mothim stayed close and quiet behind Beedrill. Their cover hadn't been blown yet, and it was best it stay that way. Two Dustoxes came into view soon enough and though Beedrill seemed gearing to attack those tied to the horrible kidnapping act, Mothim shook his head from side to side. He thought it was best to wait it out and not be rash.

The Beedrill impatiently waited alongside the Mothim. It wanted to charge in there valiantly and save his poor Butterfree. Stings was not the type to simply wait things out. Nonetheless, he knew that the Mothim had a good point. Getting themselves fainted would not help Wings. It was a good thing you waited to, for just at that moment, a Beautifly came rushing in. With wings dazzling silvery, he asked, "What is wrong? Are we under attack? Is my bride unsafe?" Stings took a sharp intake of breath, and obvious, blood-boiling fury was in his red eyes. If you don't act fast, he will charge in there! Alone!
-> CHAAAAAAARRGGE!!! -> restrain the Beedrill -> let the Beedrill go in alone

After waiting, the mastermind behind all of this finally appeared: Beautifly. Finally, Stings could no longer restrain himself. Mothim, too, felt like at this point it would be best to attack and at least ensure that he and Beedrill would be free to search for Butterfree without having to worry about interference from these bad bugs. CHAAARGE! Mothim went forth, blowing out a powerful Gust attack that transitioned into Silver Wind.

The bugs were caught by surprise by the Gust/Silver Wind. The Butterfree went flying into a tree, where it fell down, stunned. The two Dustox were sent flying, but quickly recovered and turned angrily to look at the intruders. Angrily fluttering its wings, the Beautifly turned as well. "Take care of them," he said shrilly. With that, he zoomed off into the trees. Stings darted after him, hissing, "Come back here! Wings if NOT your bride! She-she's mine!" He charged after the Beautifly. Both Dustox tried to stop his path!
-> let the Dustox stop Stings -> stop the Dustox, letting Stings go after Beautifly alone for now

Mothim's attacks had worked! Great! Now all they had to do was follow-up before the targets could escape. Beautifly, being the cowardly Pokemon that he was, would try to escape; luckily, Stings was hot on the trail. I'll cover you, Mothim chirped seeing the two Dustox try to block Stings's pathway to his friend's captor. Mothim glowed with a weird, Northern lights aura as he began to use Psychic in an attempt to move both Dustox.

Stings was too busy chasing down that Beautifly to hear you, and too infuriated to even notice that the Dustox are no longer chasing it. One Dustox went flying into the air, but the other managed to dodge and now it's sending Silver Wind right at the Mothim! Better react quick. Stings still needs Mothim's help! Stings, in the meantime, is tearing leaves and twigs from branches with its stingers, boiling with fury at the Beautifly's audacity to not only kidnap his Wings, but then claim her as his own! I'll show him not to mess with my mate!
-> attack the Dustox that is down -> counter/dodge/attack/etc. the other Dustox's Silver Wind -> don't make a move

As Mothim flew through the Silver Wind attack, it found itself to do so with relative ease. It must go back to that philosophy of trained Pokemon being stronger than wild Pokemon. A funkily colored beam shot out of Mothim's antennae as he used Psybeam in an attempt to take down the second Dustox and pursue Beautifuly alongside Beedrill.

The Dustox attempted to dodge but it just wasn't fast enough! You managed to hit its wing and it spiraled down onto the ground and unable to get back to its feet. The other Dustox, however, is back, and angry after seeing its companion being downed. It sprinkles Stun Spore into the air, then drives it towards Mothim with a Silver Wind.

His trainer had already been put to sleep; Mothim couldn't risk being paralyzed. Folding his wings over his body, Protect was used to avoid the effects of the enemy's Stun Spore and Silver Wind combination. After that, Camouflage was used - as he hid out in plain sight, Mothim was certain to make no sudden movements that could give him away.

The Dustox stared angrily at the last spot it had seen the Mothim, frustrated with its sudden inability to locate its enemy. Cursing some foul, bug swears, he blindly sent several Gusts out towards where the Mothim had disappeared. What else was he supposed to do? He was weakening, and he was desperate to buy the Beautifly some time.
In the meantime, said Beautifly was charging around sharp corners and fluttering wildly here and there. Stings could barely keep up with the awkward, butterfly flight pattern. He had to take smoother turns, and it was difficult to keep up. Getting almost as frustrated as the Dustox, he put forth a burst of speed straight towards the Beautifly, at which point his target suddenly dissappeared upwards!
-> finish off the Dustox while it's blindly striking out -> leave the Dustox there and hasten after Stings (it may attempt to follow though!) -> sit still and camouflaged...

Mothim knew that this next attack would have to finish Dustox off. He'd already spent too much time fooling around with it; a large blue sphere of condensed air was sent out as Mothim used Air Slash! Its camouflage wore off and he was now visible.
Somewhere in a field, Eros was just beginning to stir...

Not really seeing the Air Slash until it was too late, the Dustox attempted to flee at the last second. Too slow! The attack slammed into the Dustox's body, causing it to gasp softly. The Dustox fell to the ground, fainted and at peace from the horrible stress of the world around it.
Meanwhile, the Beautifly and his pursuer, Stings, are too far away to hear now. Luckily, they've been moving in zigzag patterns and doubling back on their flightpaths multiple times as the Beautifly attempted to shake Stings off. If Mothim flies in a straight line, he can catch up very quickly.
Mothim: -> wait around... -> go go go! find Stings!
Eros: -> follow the shiny trail of powder that the Butterfree left behind -> wait around...
Note! (that I don't think I've mentioned before...) The Beautifly is uncapturable. The Butterfree and two Dustox that are lying around where they had their battle are capturable. but you're probably not greedy enough to snag all three... are you?

Eros woke up, scratching his head free of remainder dust and figured one of those rowdy bugs had put him to sleep. "I hope Mothim is holding up fine without me," he said, standing up and brushing dirt off himself. The sparkly trail of what looked like glitter on the ground was noticeable, and so Eros followed it in hopes of finding his party. He released Skarmory for aerial assistance.
Mothim, having successfully downed his target, was now free to try to help Beedrill. He could not see them, but knew that if he just flew in the general direction he'd eventually see signs of them.

Eros should easily reach the clearing (unless distracted by a random shiny object...) quite soon. The Butterfree hadn't flown too far before coming across the two Dustox guards. And as for Mothim, he can probably already hear the furious buzzing noise as Stings is still attempting to catch up to the Beautifly!
Mothim: -> hurry! find Stings! -> wait for Eros...
Eros: -> hurry! follow the path! -> get distracted/doze off again...

Mothim could hear the feint noise of wings beating and buzzing sounds. Figuring Stings was closing in on the target and would soon need his help, Mothim pushed it into double time!
As he approached the clearing, Eros couldn't help but catch a glint of something shiny out of the corner of his eye. Unable to resist the temptation, he approached it cautiously to see what it could be.

Just as Mothim gets close enough to catch glimpses of Stings and the Beautifly, the Beautifly turns and uses a blast of Stun Spore, egged on through Silver Wind! Stings, who was moving far too fast to stop himself or dodge, flies straight into it! The Beautifly is making its get-away now! [dice=2] If 1, Stings is unable to move.
Eros has found a thin, shiny metallic string-like-thingy on the ground! It winds its way over several roots, is tied around a thick tree, and then simply keeps on going through some thick bushes. I wonder where it leads... Mothim is probably doing pretty well, but Eros can't know that for sure. And the shiny stuff looks like it gets really hard to follow...
Mothim: -> go chase down Beautifly -> stop and help Stings
Eros: -> continue on to go help Mothim/Stings -> find a way to follow the shiny thing
lol I was just using the "random shiny object" as a metaphor for a distraction... but your taking it seroiusly gave me an idea that I quite like...[rand=5204904680317781046217545750662115564617682291812375326810433776]

Mothim could see that a battle was starting up between Beedrill and Beautifly just before him, up ahead a few feet. Usually Mothim wouldn't be for double teaming an opponent, because Eros hadn't raised him to battle in such a way, but obviously this caused for exceptions to the rule to be made. Mothim flew up a little to ensure he didn't float in the cloud of Stun Spore that had blasted Stings; once there, he fired off a powerful Psybeam attack in the direction of the kidnapper.
Wakefield found the metallic string tied all around the thick roots of a large tree. They were winding all around, and wound pretty tight, too. The string then led into the bushes, which Eros would follow - he was curious as to where this was all going.
