Here he was. Caleb was about to enter an atmosphere the likes of which he had never known. The travel from his hometown of Cerulean City was a long and arduous one. It had been almost a week since he last saw the comforting scenery of the Cerulean Bridge overlooking the lake.
"Did I really make the right decision." Cale second guessed himself, was he actually feeling homesick, no it wasn't that. He was scared, scared of what will happen, and of what may happen. It wasn't time for that though, he made a promise, and he wasn't going to give up the opportunity to gain experience with Pokemon. "There's the monorail, funny, the time to turn back was long ago."
The monorail came to a slow stop, Cale hoisted his travel bag over his shoulder and picked up his luggage, boarding the monorail to his new school life. There were many others his age, either new students like him, or the current students at Pokemon Academy. The Thought of the academy ran through his head, forcing him to rummage through his bag, taking out a packet of information on the school and a letter from the vice principals.
"Well once again I have time to spare, hmm I've already finished the book I brought with me, might as well read up on the information of the school." of course he had already read the packet several other times, thoroughly but the excitement and fear he was experiencing in the depths of his psyche kept him referring to it. It contained the basic school rules; dress code, disciplinary actions, everything a student would need to stay out of trouble. He chuckled, only he would read the packet of school rules.
He then went on to the lists of available classes, when he saw the vice principals, but he memorized his classes by heart: Battle Tactics, a class he thought he wouldn't take but did, something about Pokemon battles seemed fun. History of Pokemon, a must have in his eyes. He wanted to know everything about the origin of theses mysterious and exotic creatures. Pokemon Cooking, Cale sighed, "Why would mother sign me up for this. Cooking is so trivial." Cale only said this because he wasn't the best cook in the world.
Pokemon Technology, why wouldn't he participate? Technology used exclusively for the purpose of the magnificent creatures called Pokemon. Finally Expedition Class, "Mother and Father seem intent on these classes, they have never volunteered me for anything before." This was more his father's doing, going on various treks around the island, it seemed right up father's masculine attitude.
Even though forty percent of his classes were forced upon Cale by his parents he wasn't outraged. He was suspicious, only because he had never been volunteered for anything, even by his parents. Cale tried to imagine what the school would be like, even though pictures were plastered upon the packets pages. He had to wonder, were they fake? Was it a beat up run down academy? Contrary to that could they be telling the truth? Maybe it was as large and beautiful as the images suggested.
"Attention passengers, please gather your belongings and prepare to exit, the academy is less than minutes away." the intercom echoed.
"Okay, this is it. Caleb Edwards, freshman of Pokemon Academy. That's who I'll be. I'll try the best I can to make friends Mother, after all I did promise." he told himself. He had to keep himself motivated, he knew he couldn't go back. If he didn't feel the right way he would make his time here horrible.
Pictures don't lie, the campus was beautiful, everything about it was. The way nature and man had made a heavenly concoction that was Pokemon Academy soothed his very soul. What was this? Was the hardened Cale actually excited? He could feel himself tingle. He fished into his pocket taking out a letter from the school. "Upon arrival to the island, you are to immediately report to the vice principals in the laboratory." it said.
"I wonder if it's like that small lab run by Prof. Oak in Pallet Town?" Cale thought. The word 'laboratory' just put the Pokemon professors image in his head. He fished into his bag taking out a map of the campus. "The lab is here, and this is the port. Okay time to get going." he told himself.
He followed his map, watching the students mingle, and catching glimpse of some Pokemon. Yes. This is exactly where Cale belonged. The lab was directly ahead of him. "Okay this is my first impression on the school, it has to be right." His expedition flashed before him. Cerulean City to the Academy's island, it was quite the travel. He slowly opened the door and walked in.
The lab was white, the whitest he had ever seen. The walls, floor, and ceiling all donned the color of purity. Though where were the vice principals. Cale began to wander the lab, "Excuse me, I was informed to report here. Is anyone here?" he waited for a response.
