do you know where your heart is?do you think you can find it? The terrain at Hotrock Volcano was as rocky and rugged as usual. The little group of trainers that were following along this path had a clear goal set in mind. To get Carly the odd Vulpix Girl and younger sister of Zee. Despite the lack of information, with the help of Zee and some other students who had sightings of Carly, they were able to assume that the Vulpix pack lived somewhere closeby to the mid-summit of the volcano. Not too close to the peak but also not too far from it. It seemed as though the pack of Vulpix could be anywhere, however, considering the vastness of Hotrock Volcano itself. It could be dangerous since the volcano's behavior was so random and the group could end up searching for hours. Luckily within the group of trainers on this mission there stood a Vulpix and Growlithe themself. Before having them headoff, Zee had given the group Carly's favorite bow to place in her hair. The scent from the bow could be easily tracked which actually did the group some well.
"Growl!" a sudden Growlithe jumped from behind a rock, the Fire-type dog casting off streams of fire at a ledge where a Vulpix stood. "Vulpix!" The Vulpix suavely dodged the flames before sending a Confuse Ray in the Growlithe's direction. It was a hit. The canine seemed confused as to how he had arrived in the area, shaking its head, the Pokemon ran off. The fire fox, tossed its head in a prideful manner before it had caught sight of the group of trainers. Having been too focused on the battle beforehand, the Vulpix's eyes grew wide in shock. Before anything else could happen, the Vulpix shot out a jet stream of sinister blue-white flames, Will-o-Wisp, before turning tail and dashing off swiftly.
A Vulpix is getting away! Pursuing would be nice... In this mission your main objective is to get Carly and bring her home! ONLY Vulpix and Growlithe are capturable in this mission, obviously that awesome Arcanine and sexy Ninetails are off limits. Your second objective is to bring an end to the fighting of the Vulpix and Growlithe packs. A hint would be TEAMWORK. Good luck!

"This is just your misson, Circe. A bunch of Vulpix, and Growlithe, and Lily has Growlithe covered... right? We should end this easy!" Tyler mused as the group continued up the trail, the trainer a bit startled. The special, black-tailed Vulpix gave a nod from his arms, enjoying being carried like a princess: she did consider herself a bit of one.
The sudden conflict between the two canine-based (foxes are apparently canines) Pokemon up ahead startled Tyler a bit, the Will-o-Wisp flying towards him while he was still a bit shocked: Circe leapt from his arms and into the burning moves, her Flash Fire Ability raising her Fire-moves power and negating any damage.
'No-one takes a shot at Tyler, or me! You get back here you little lowlife!" Circe called, dashing after the other Vulpix angrily. Tyler was frozen on the spot a moment before he snapped out of it, and tried to hurry after them.
"Come on, maybe they'll lead us to the Vulpix and Carly!"

Raize was excited for him & Justin's first mission. Breeding class was now over & his pet egg was in his black backpack. The backpack's straps were thick and sturdy, but not heavy at all. He seems to be able to run & do any physical activity with it securing the egg in side. The backpack was zipped up & in securing position.
Their mission wasn't gonna be to hard, but with no field experience he could make a mistake at any moment. "Let's do our best." Raize said to Justin. Justin was resting on his right shoulder. He was on edge, but in a good way. Though it startled him & his trainer when the will-o-wisp shot at Tyler, who was in front of them.
As the foxes chased each other, Justin started to leap off Raize's shoulder. "No Justin. You have to stay with me. Something else might pop up and attack our little group." Justin went back on higher alert mode. He was waiting for any action to occur, so it'd be his excuse to battle. Once Tyler took off, so did he riding on Raize's shoulder.

Slate (Rhyhorn); ? (Egg)
Rixie ran after Tyler, panting, "H-Hey! Wait!" After a moment, she groaned, and thrust her hand into the small pocket tailored into her shirt and pulled out Slate's pokeball. "Come on, Slate, let's catch up to 'em!" She jumped onto his back, stuffed the pokeball back into the pocket, and gripped him tightly with her hands and knees.
He lurched forward as soon as she was secure, and lumbered after Tyler and Circe. The heat didn't bother him. In fact, he barely noticed it. Rixie clutched the small satchel that was now strapped to her front instead of her back like it usually was. She cuddled it close to her chest and smiled. Maybe the egg would not mind the heat. Although she certainly did.

Speedy wasn't exactly sure what he had gotten himself into. Of course he signed his name on the mission board and read the requirements of said mission. But all the details he had hardly read. He just wanted to get things moving along. He took a deep sigh, Coral his starter pokemon sitting on his shoulder, and in his backpack the egg that was given to him by the breeding teacher. With the warm air of the Volcano... maybe the egg would hatch soon and he could already find out what pokemon was inside. Speedy was behind Tyler, whenever the Growlithe jumped out shot a stream of fire at the Vulpix on the ledge, missed and then ran away again. Deep inside of his person... he secretly wanted a Growlithe.
He watched as Vulpix started to run away and Tyler's Vulpix jumped out of his arms and absorbed the Will-o-Wisp fired at them. Whenever Tyler started to after the Vulpix, Speedy ran after him. Keeping a hand on the egg in his backpack and Coral staying steady on his shoulder.

Search for the Vulpix-Girl!
Lily walked up at the front of the group next to Tyler, Nanaki leading up ahead slightly as he sniffed around as he always did. They were off on a search and rescue sort of mission, looking for Carly the Vulpix-Girl. An odd story, she had apparently run off to live with Vulpix. Why someone would do this was beyond Lily to comprehend, but her family was worried about her and so here she was on the search. Nanaki would be a big help here anyway, his sense of smell was very powerful, and after sniffing something of Carly's he was able to locate her easy. Once he picked up the smell, that is. Which was what he was looking for at the moment, as he made with the odor sleuthing.
Another problem though was that there was a war of sorts going on between the Vulpix in question, and a pack of Growlithe. They were being led by Ninetails and Arcanine, as the stories told, which was really problematic. Lily wasn't thrilled with the idea of wandering into a warzone, but it had to be done if they were going to find Carly. At least Nanaki's Flash Fire ability made him immune to damage from fire attacks. It also charged his own fire attacks, but they wouldn't be very effective in battle against other fire types anyway. Hopefully though, they could avoid this war and just get Carly out. If not, Lily was hoping Nanaki would be able to help with peace talks.
Nanaki caught the scent of some Pokémon up ahead, and stopped walking to let Lily catch up before they confronted them. It turned out to be a Vulpix, who was suddenly attack by a Growlithe. Oh, joy. Caught in the war right off the bat. The battle didn't last long though and Growlithe ran off soon after it started. The Vulpix turned and found the group, attacked, and then ran off. Tyler's Vulpix blocked the shot and then ran off after it, followed by Tyler who called back at them. It was their big chance to find Carly, so Lily ran after Ty with Nanaki right beside her.

do you know where your heart is?do you think you can find it? As Circe pursued the Vulpix followed by Tyler and the rest of the merry crew, the Vulpix, realizing that it was being followed attempted to outrun the group on it's tail. Speeding up, a sudden trail of reddish brown hair whipped out of no where as a young girl jumped to collect the rather exhausted Vulpix in her arms. The girl's fiery eyes were narrowed in absolute disgust of the group. Carly was dressed in a rather torn brown dress with gloves, she sported several burn marks here and there along with an array of her rather wild and messy long reddish brown hair. The hair itself was almost the exact hue of a Vulpix. Carly growled at the group before jumping up on a ledge of a cliff with great skill and grace before pulling on a string that was nearby. A little sneer formed on Carly's lips before she disappeared with her Vulpix kin into a cave-like entrance located on the cliff.
For a few moments after the random pulling of the string that Carly had done, nothing happened until a giant boulder came tumbling off the side of the cliff. It seemed as though that cave-like entrance was the entrance to the Vulpix's lair! But before the group could get to that wonderful part of their mission...They first need to get themselves out of danger's way from Carly's trap! With the boulder coming down on them, there really wasn't much they could particularly do at this point.
No. Team Rescue Carly is not screwed.
A sudden flash of red and black came darting by with Extreme Speed. The massive beast collected the trainers and their Pokemon quickly onto its back before relaying them to safety. The boulder sounded with a giant crash onto the pathway before it tumbled down the path and off a nearby cliff. Before the merry crew now stood a tall and mighty beast. The magnificent Aracanine's fierce eyes were gazing down upon them before the Arcanine approached the human's with a deep growl. A little Growlithe came stumbling from the Arcanine's larger feet as he approached the group before them.
"Growl...?" he growled abruptly, feeling rather cautious. Who are you?
The Arcanine gave the group a deep penetrating gaze before turning tail and taking off with wicked fast speed that it was impossible to tell which direction it had went.
An Arcanine has saved you guys! Hooray! A Growlithe approaches. Lily's Growlithe would be of use now.

"Circe, wait up!" Tyler called as all of a sudden one who could only be Carly leapt down and collected the wild Vulpix, Tyler reaching down to grab Circe before his own Vulpix could chase after them as they dashed away before Tyler could say anything else.
Then the boulder came crashing down.
Tyler's mind stalled, he had no idea what Pokemon he had that could counter a boulder as it came down upon them, the teen feeling himself grabbed and kidnapped by someone or something else, dumped to the ground shortly after.... an Aracanine? Would why they help them if they were after the Vulpix themselves?
"Circe, easy girl, easy!" Tyler held his Vulpix in place as she squirmed in his gripe, before she did something they'd regret and spoke... inappropiatly to the Growlithe; she wanted to ramble about how she didn't need their help but her trainer was hushing her.

They were slowly catching up to the Vulpix. Yes! Finally, A break! Now all they needed to do was catch this Vulpix and make it take us to the Vulpix lair. That's what he was thinking, until a small girl jumped out from behind a rock and grabbed the tired Vulpix. Shit! Can they not just get a break?! He watched as she jumped up on the rocky ledge with simply ease. "I call Foul Play." He muttered to himself. That was hardly fair, she had super powers! How were they supposed to compete with that? Next thing Speedy had two reactions. He watched as she pulled the string, and then she ran inside the cave. His First reaction was stepping forward to give chase. His second reaction was stepping backwards once the boulder covered the mouth of the cave. And then another boulder started rolling towards them. Speedy saw his life flash before his eyes. He couldn't think, couldn't feel. "Am I really to die here?" He thought to himself.
That is until a flash of Orange and Black moved the entire group out of the way. Speedy's mind was still in the shocked state, he didn't have time to comprehend what happened... He watched the boulder roll by, then the Arcanine step up into view. He looked up at the Large Pokemon. He could easily, carry the entire party on his back. After a while the shock numbed and Speedy was able to think once more. He looked down seeing a Growlithe appear from behind the Arcanine's paws. Speedy instantly smiled, kneeled down to the Growlithe and started scratching him behind his ear. "Well Hello there Little Guy, Aren't you the coolest Fire Pokemon I have seen. Do you think we could find a way up into the Vulpix's lair? We kinda need to get that girl." Speedy looked back up to the cave seeing that the mouth of it was closed. "Hmm We always could try to Smash it open... But that would be unorthodox... There is most likely a second entrance. The Vulpix wouldn't just seal themselves in there... would they?"

"Aipom." Justin called out seeing the boulder. Their team was in grave danger that fast. Unfortunately, none of them seemed to have a pokemon that was big enough or at least strong enough to hold off the huge rock. "Hang on Justin." Rai suggested. He had Justin move from his right shoulder to the front of his torso. He held on to his partner, the egg was untouched in his bag. From literally no where. It was a bird. It was a plane. It was an . . . arcanine? The majestic fire canine had saved the group. The pokemon in all. It was undoubtedly strong. "Im glad that your here." Rai thought.
The group landed safely thanks to it. Only now they seemed to have jumped from the microwave to the oven. They were face to face with the fire type. Now his smaller friend, a growlithe had stepped up & growled at them. Justin stared at the fire puppy. It was so adorable. His trainer thought the same & followed suit.

Rixie was shocked. Slate had bolted forward, ready to take on the boulder, even though it was clear that even he wouldn't be strong enough to ward off such a huge rock. "Slate, no!" she screamed. But by the time he had turned to glance at her, he seemed to simply disappear. What... thought Rixie stupidly. Then she was off the ground and suddenly found herself dumped on a ledge out of harm's way. What just... happened...
Slate was nearby, breathing heavily, and Rixie put an arm around him. He was trembling, and Rixie was touched when she realized that the Rhyhorn had known that he wasn't strong enough to take on the boulder, and that he had been scared, but he had tried to anyways, to protect her. She turned, tears in her eyes, to see their rescuer. "Thank you..." she mumbled to the Arcanine. She was about to slowly reach her small hand to him, but then he was gone. Instead, she turned to see the Growlithe, and she tentatively reached towards him, leaving two feet between them still to see his reaction. "Hey there. How are you doing?"

Saved!
And there was the target! As expected though, she was here willingly and didn't seem to thrilled at seeing the group of trainers. She took off onto a cliff and went into the mountain. Then a boulder came flying down at the group. Many things flew through Lily's mind as the boulder hurled toward them. Unfortunately nothing useful though, Nanaki wasn't fitted to handle something like this. There was a reason fire was weak versus rock. However, it didn't matter. Lily felt herself grabbed and quickly pulled away. Soon after, she looked around to find the boulder had missed them and that they had been saved by an Arcanine.
The Arcanine was a a beautiful Pokémon. Tall and full of majesty, there was a reason it was called the 'Legendary Pokémon'. Nanaki, too, was in awe of proud figure. That could be him someday. That would be him someday. When he was ready for it. The Arcanine didn't stay long, and was off again, but a little Growlithe stayed behind. The puppy walked up and barked at him. The bark contained something of a growl in it, and Lily was unsure if it was being friendly. A couple of the others seemed to miss this fact and casually spoke to the Growlithe. Speedy even moved to pet it, which probably wasn't the safest move, considering it was a wild Growlithe in the middle of a war. Trust for outsiders was probably little. But that's why Nanaki was helpful. Lily nodded at Nanaki, and he walked forward to converse with the Growlithe.
"Growl... I'm Nanaki, and that's my master, Lily. We're from the school and we're here to find the girl in the Vulpix costume. We also heard there was a problem between the Growlithe and the Vulpix." Nanaki informed the Growlithe.

do you know where your heart is?do you think you can find it?
The Growlithe eyed Circe as she wriggled in her trainer's grasp, the canine's eyes narrowing themselves in suspicion. She was a Vulpix too, however, the Growlithe didn't recognize her as any of the other Vulpix that were a part of the Vulpix pack his pack was currently at war with. As one of the trainers reached over to scratch his ear, the Growlithe shook his head in an annoyed way letting out another warning growl. He had heard Speedy's words, however and his ears perked up in interest. These humans were here for the human girl that laid within the Vulpix pack? The Growlithe's blood began to boil at the very thought of that human girl joining a pack of Pokemon. She was the reason they were at war in the first place. He was pulled from his thoughts as a few other of the humans reached towards him.
The Growlithe looked up, he had never seen so many humans at the same time before, it was rather alarming and put him on the edge. When Rixie reached out to him, the Growlithe simply sniffed at the air before catching the scent of another Growlithe in the midst. As the Nanaki the Growlithe apporached him and told him about their reason for coming here, the Growlithe looked at Nanaki in amusement before his eyes glanced back at the humans. If the humans were here to take the Vulpix girl, Carly away, the Growlithe was sure that the problems would be solved. It was because of a human girl being a part of the Vulpix pack which placed the Growlithe pack on the edge.
"The Vulpix and Growlithe packs got along really well in the past..." the Growlithe began to explain to Nanaki. "Until she came along..." The Growlithe placed an emphasis on the word 'she', which was perhaps Carly. "The Ninetails and Vulpix were foolish to adopt a human girl into their pack. She doesn't belong there. And those Vulpix have brainwashed her into thinking that she is one of them!" The Growlithe let out another infuritated growl before calming himself down. "She does NOT belong amongst the Pokemon." The Growlithe stared at Nanaki. "We need to find the Vulpix lair...They moved their lair from before so we can't find it." He growled at the humans that accompanied Nanaki before calming himself down once again. "It's not in our nature to work with humans but...If you can assure us that you can get that foolish human girl away from the Vulpix pack...We can work alongside eachother." he bowed his head towards Nanaki before reluctantly doing the same with the human trainers and their Pokemon.

Speedy gave an awkward smile whenever the Growlithe gave a warning growl at him. He stopped scratching him for a little bit as they continued. The Arcanine had long left by then. And it seemed the Growlithe wasn't all that used to being around humans. But Speedy didn't mind, he was actually pretty good with dogs. As the Growlithe began to relax a little bit, Speedy began to pet him once more. Scratching behind his ear, moving down to his neck. Then lightly scratching down to his back. The usual places where normal dogs themselves could never normally scratched. And they went absolutely crazy and want more, from whom ever scratched them in these places.
But of course a Growlithe wasn't a normal dog, whom knows they might not even itch in any of these places. Speedy gave a slight sigh, but returned it with a smile to show a friendly attitude and happiness. Speedy watched as the two Growlithe's communicated, the Wild Growlithe seemed to get annoyed and angry a few times while he was telling his side of the story, but quickly calmed himself down.

Saved!
Nanaki listened to the story of the Growlithe carefully. So it was the girl that was causing friction, was it? That benefited them well then, they could stop both problems with one stone. Nanaki gave a returned bow to the Growlithe, he was ready to help as need be. He gave a warning growl to the boy who kept petting the other Growlithe. He liked a good ear scratching as much as the next pup, but there was a time and a place! This was not it. Especially considering their attitudes toward people. They were not machines that just started purring as soon as you turned them on. They were prideful beasts in a serious situation. And the boy had already been warned once. Nanaki didn't think his behavior was helping their case at all. Hoping to push things away from the matter of inappropriate ear scratching, Nanaki went on.
"Growl... Just tell us how we can help." he responded.

Rixie felt a twinge of disappointment as she remembered that they should really be getting to the point. She shot the boy who was petting the Growlithe a distateful glance. The Growlithe had growled before he started, but he did anyways. He should have listened to the Growlithe rather than insisting on going with what his plan was. That was the very reason why she hated people. Still, she longed to touch that long, red fur.
She forced herself to sit back on her haunches and stare at the Growlithe instead, watching as the story was exchanged. Perhaps, if the Growlithe was willing to lead the way, they could go straight to the Vulpix camp, talk to the leader, and convince them to return Carly. Surely they must understand that she had another family, a human family, who was missing her...

"Justin do you know whats going on?" Rai mumbled to his partner. Justin shrugged & continued to listen to the two pups growl & bark their conversation. Even though Rai couldnt understand, he had a feeling the mission was going to get easier with one of the group members having a growlithe of her own. "I guess we'll just stare & watch. Waiting for instructions." He mumbled again to his monkey pokemon. "Ai..." Justin ignored, focusing intensively on the conversation. He began to wish that he was also a growlithe or some kind of dog pokemon that could speak with them as well.
Raize began to drift away into his thoughts of vulpix. "I wonder where the vulpix are. They seem like quite majestic creatures. I want one. Im sure that the vulpix would make a great companion for Justin & others. I think we should try to capture one when this is all over. But then again, this might take a while. I wonder why that boy pet the growlithe despite its warnings...Stupidity." His thoughts slowly returned to the matter at hand, which was known only by the growlithes holding conversation.

do you know where your heart is?do you think you can find it?
At Nanaki's agreement, the Growlithe wagged his tail once. He then looked around at the other trainers around him. Each trainer had different kinds of Pokemon which would serve to be very helpful in this situation in hunting for the Vulpix lair. He looked over at Nanaki and the other Pokemon and trainers before him. "We need to find the Vulpix lair pronto. Many of my Growlithe comrades are trying to fend off the Vulpix that come along to infultrate our own territory to have their Ninetails leaders take out our majestic Arcanine leaders. We don't particularly know where the Vulpix Lair is located due to the fact that they changed it...And though my comrades would love to sniff it out, we've been preoccupied with the Vulpix's attacks." As fox-like Pokemon, it was no surprise that Vulpix were cunning and clever. Distracting the Growlithe so the canine Pokemon are unable to sniff out the Vulpix' own whereabouts.
"Our leaders take turns trying to pinpoint the exact location of the Vulpix Lair. However...This mountain is so vast and since they rotate every now and then, it becomes rather difficult and confusing. Though...If you find and locate a member of the Vulpix party, it would be rather simple. We have assumed that they live further up from where we are located. It might take some time with all of you climbing however..." The Growlithe observed the humans, knowing that they could be a little slower than they liked. Getting an idea, the Growlithe stepped back before letting out a loud and echoing bark that sounded off the entire area in which they currently resided. The Growlithe let out three of these barks before silence fell after the final echo stopped.
Suddenly a flash of red appeared and extreme speed, sending gusts of wind blowing before it came to a halt in front of the mission team. The large majestic Arcanine's feirce eyes looked down upon them as the Growlithe gave one last bow to Nanaki before going over to explain the situation to the Arcanine. The Arcanine growled at the Growlithe at first before it slowly came to understand the further the Growlithe explained. Standing at its full height the Arcanine gazed down at the humans as the Growlithe wagged his tail.
"You may tell your trainer and her fellow comrades to get on..." The Arcanine addressed Nanaki and the rest of the Pokemon that could understand. This Arcanine's voice was that of female, meaning that she was the female leader of the pack. It was also evident in her voice that she was rather reluctant to have humans ride upon her, but knowing it was for the best she decided to simply accept it. She crouched down to allow the trainers to ride along her back. "Do hold on tight will you..." The Arcanine said though it came out as a low growl to human ears, before giving a final nod to the Growlithe that had assisted them. The Arcanine then sped off to bring the trainers to where they believed the Vulpix Lair may be.
Note: Apologies to Tyler for skipping his turn. Please note that this Arcanine is only one Arcanine and only the trainers are riding on her. You may place your Pokemon in their Pokeballs for the time being. Please feel free to release them at any time you deem necessary. An example being if a Vulpix appears. If there are no such cases, please keep them in their Pokeballs. Relax and enjoy the ride. Thank you for riding Arcanine Express

All aboard!
Lily waited as Nanaki got information. She simply stood aside and let him deal with things, it was the best thing to do at the moment. When he finished up, he walked back over to Lily, barking at her. The Arcanine that had shown up bowed down for them, and Nanaki walked over to it.
"I guess it wants us to get on." Lily offered, and she walked up to the large beast. She returned Nanaki to his Pokéball, since there wasn't enough room for all of them, and climbed up on the Arcanine's back. She would let Nanaki out again once they were where they needed to be.

Had Tyler claimed he understood what was going on, he would've been lying. The teen just stood a bit blankly as the Growlithe spoke, not understanding a word, as he didn't speak Pokemon at all.... he guessed he got the drift, but then again, his drift of the message could've been utterely false.
"I, uh.... I guess..." Tyler hoped Lily knew what she was doing, returning Circe to her own Pokeball so the Vulpix didn't do anything.... aggressive to the sensitive Vulpix - Growlithe situation at hand, before a bit timidly getting on the Aracanine as well, offering a helping hand up to anyone else who was coming with.

Rixie stared at the magnificent Arcanine wistfully. Oh how she'd love to have one of her own... "Come on, Slate. Let's put you in your pokeball for now," she pulled it out of her jacket pocket, recalled the Rhyhorn, and then carefully put it back in the pocket, cradling it for a second. She saw Tyler's offered hand, but she ignored it. Instead, she clambered onto the Arcanine's back behind him without showing any notice of even seeing Tyler's hand.
my possible catch thread as well... Rhyhorn; Egg (obviously the Egg won't be doing any fighting...)

(I like to think I've been patient, but yeah... September now. I think that's long enough to keep myself in one mission =/
Offically dropping out)
