((Right... >.> Sorry I keep forgetting.)) ~Party Pokemon~ Speedy was out on his normal afternoon round about. Walking along the beach, watching the sunset. He almost came to interrupting someone he knew on a date once. But he just shut up and backed off. You know, he didn't want to be a cockblocker. And he didn't want anybody to cockblock him. He took a deep breath, gently yawning as he stretched. As he looked at the sunset. His mind started to wander. Mostly towards Ven and his newly evolved Lucario. "Damnit... That Lucario is a Major Asset to him... and it will be a difficult opponent to beat too. Unless I can get the proper allied pokemon, he will always be one step ahead of me in that case."
All of a sudden he was in a random mood to battle. To train, to have his pokemon fight... SOMETHING. Someone. Just so they can gain experience and evolve into stronger pokemon. He started looking up and down the beach for a battle.

Laying out on a beach towel in the sun would be Eros Wakefield. As he lay slathered in tanning oil, the sun did its job of making his skin just the more tanner and sexier. His eyes were closed and his arms were propped up behind his head, enjoying this oh so relaxing do-nothing day.

As the young trainer looked up and down the beach he didn't really see anyone in the general vicinity. But someone had to be in the area. He turned and began walking up the beach. Occasionally looking around for an opponent but for the most part watching the gentle wake of the water. Upon looking along the beach, there was a small dot of human resemblance. Well no rush, don't look like you are in a hurry. Just casually walk up start a conversation and carefully mention a pokemon battle.
Well the plan was easier said than done. And to be honest even whenever it was done it wasn't even all that difficult. But then again, there were some people that just couldn't hold in their feelings. Speedy wasn't one of them. In fact he actually ran as fast as he possibly could towards the person. As he came closer, he recognized him. From a battle long ago, his first battle with Raize. Ahh Good times good time. As ran up to Eros, skidding to a halt in the sand. Almost completely out of breath. He looked at the rather shiny and tanner than usual boy. Taking in a deep breath. "Hi Eros it's nice to see you today. You're looking Shinier than usual. Hahah! That's funny. So how are you doing today? Well that's good, me? Oh nothing just wandering around looking for a battle."

The sound of the waves rolling up unto the shores of Sandstone Beach were utterly calming. It had been easy for Eros to take a cat nap in the sand and grow tan under the watch of the sun. He was awaken, though, by the pitter-patter of footsteps racing across the sand. He slowly opened his eyes, blinking twice before turning his head to see the one called Speedy running toward him. What kind of name is Speedy anyway? he thought to himself with a chuckle, wondering what it was this acquaintance could want.
He spat out his words quickly, snitching on his own eagerness and anticipation. "I doing fine, myself, thanks," he said while pulling himself up off the ground and wiping the sand from his trunks. "A battle, huh? I'm guessing you think you found an opponent in me?" Eros asked, pointing to his bare chest with his pointer finger and a smile on his face. "Let's get started then, yeah?"
Who was he to turn down his fellow trainer.

Speedy took a deep breath, and held it. Before slowly letting it out. This helped his breathing, to where he wasn't breathing as hard. It seemed Eros had just woken up for a little nap. Hmm, Oh well. One shouldn't really be sleeping outside. In the sun. One could get sunburned. And then where would you be? Laying in bed to scared to move otherwise you would set your entire body off into a stinging frenzy. But that was unimportant. What was important was that Eros was doing absofruitlicious. And that he would indeed battle him. Well... Vani was going to evolve soon any way. So using her wouldn't do. And Daisy was about to do the same. While he didn't want to evolve Fir yet. So that left him with three pokemon to battle with. Guess it was time to start it up.
He reached into his belt, cycling through his pokeballs. Selecting the first pokemon that he would be using. "Apache! I choose you!" He said tossing out the pokeball. The Ball struck against the ground, splitting open in a red flash of energy. Apache appeared, already in flight. Ready for a battle.

Eros reached into his back pocket, pulling out the small ball with the inverted color scheme. Enlarging the Premier Ball and tossing it up into the air, it split wide open and released Skarmory in a flash of white energy. "I'm assuming we're going with standard three on three rules, yeah?" the trainer said before running a hand through his hair, causing loose specs of sand to come falling out. He'd chosen Skarmory for two reasons: he hadn't seen action in a while, and it was smart to combat a flying opponent with a flying Pokemon. "Let's go with Air Slash, Skarmory!" The metallic pteradon launched into the sky, kicking up dirt and sand everywhere before sending out the concentrated sphere of concussive air.
[dice=10] *If it lands 1-3, the attack causes the opponent to flinch.

Speedy watched as the Premier Ball was thrown into the sky awaiting his opponent. As the white energy exploded everywhere in a showy fashion the pokemon appeared. Even before it completely materialized Speedy knew what pokemon he was fighting. Mostly by the shape, but then again he had fought Eros before. Let's just say that this battleisn't going to be the easiest thing in the world. As the Skarmory appeared, Eros set down the rules for the battle. Three on three, ehh good enough for him. "Ehh Good Enough for me. Although I think I'll get a change to the Line up." The Air slash was fired before he could even get a word in.
Speedy had to react quickly. "Apache! Whirlwind!" The Air slash struck against the Rufflet. But due to Skarmory's lower Special Attack Stat it didn't hurt to much. And thankfully it didn't flinch him either. As a counter Apache suddenly started rapidly flapping his wings. "And Just in case you forget. Whirlwind causes the opponent to flea and forces another pokemon to battle." And then again, that Skarmory did another thing for him. Reminded him that he needed to get a Fire type soon. That would be next on his to do list.

Eros smiled as Skarmory's attack landed, but immediately shut his mouth before giving tons of grains of sand the chance to enter. After the effective whirlwind attack, a mock sandstorm was whipped up on the beach. Before Skarmory could go blasting off, his trainer returned him and another Pokeball burst open just then...
"Okay, girl, you want to try?" Eros wiped sand from his face as his Pokemon barked back at him. Grooowlithe! This would force Eros to conjure another battle strategy, but the impromptu switch wasn't something that he couldn't handle. "All right then! Use Odor Sleuth to get a good feel for your opponent, and then use Flamethrower."
Growlithe barked again before her nose began to twitch. She locked eyes with Rufflet before sniffing the air really thoroughly; the smell of feathers was combined with the smell of salt and water. Growlithe opened her mouth and a strong stream of fiery blaze came spewing out, heading for the opponent.
ooc- i didn't use Odor Sleuth in a conventional way; just wanted to add it in for content. don't think i'm trying to permanently look onto you or anything.

Speedy raised a brow. He wasn't expecting the Sandstorm, although it somewhat added a nice touch. Except for the back that the Trainer had sunscreen on and was no doubtfully covered from head to toe in sand. It gave a type of... mystery. The Skarmory was returned to it's pokeball and then the Growlithe appeared. The trainer scrunched up his nose. Wasn't the best thing he would have chosen but at least it wasn't super effective and resistant to any of his attacks. Also with Rufflet equipped with the item Sharp Beak just made his attacks just that more powerful. But then again we would need to slow this boy down first. "Apache, Dodge with Tailwind, and then Counter with Scary Face."
Suddenly a harsh wind was whipped up raising Apache's Speedy by two stages. As the Flamethrower attack came closer to him, he was able to move out of the way of the attack. Before glaring at Thw Growlithe putting on his scary face move which would drop the opponent's stats by two stages. Making them significantly slower.

"Quick, look down, Growlithe!" He didn't need his Pokemon getting spooked out by the bird's Scary Face attack. Thankfully, the very obedient dog Pokemon did as she was told and avoided the reduce in speed. "Now go; agility!"
Growlithe took off running, kicking up sand behind her as her paws moved with great speed. She was almost leaving an orange trail in her wake - you could see it if you looked very closely. Growlithe ran toward Rufflet who was positioned in the sky. "Go for the Take Down!" Growlithe kicked off from the ground with a bark, aiming to bash the opposition in its feathered chest.

Speedy sighed, groaning even as the Grolwithe didn't get scared by Apache's Scary Face. Then Eros even had the Audacity to use a move that also doubled his Speed. The Growlithe dashed across the sand. And amazingly elegant for a pokemon that has to run on sand. And then Eros decided for the pokemon to come straight at the bird pokemon in question. With the Same speed, it was just another fast paced battle. And fast paced he could handle. It was that slow paced lagging crap that he couldn't deal with. And just eventually lost muse for and usually gave up without the battle ending. Ehh it happens like that when you get older. Everything seems to make more sense whenever it's moving quickly. But then again, his name was indeed Speedy. "Apache, Counter with Brave Bird." It was Apache's first time using Brave Bird. The trainer was originally planning on using it during a competition. But the Tournaments unfortunately got canceled. He ran a quick hand through his still pure white hair. And he had bleached his hair white for absolutely nothing. Suddenly the bird pokemon was engulfed in a Blue Flame, as in made a sudden B Line straight for Growlithe.

Eros cringed as he watched his Pokemon come crashing back down to Earth after being knocked out of the sky by the enemy's Rufflet and his Brave Bird attack. She stood back up to her feet while clenching her teeth, ready to continue after finding the wind that was previously knocked out of her. "Let's try something a little different, yeah?"
Eros's coordinator's brain was trying to think of something creative to change the momentum in this match. He was thrown off by the impromptu switch of Pokemon, and now he wanted to regain control of the situation. "Use Heat Wave, directed at the water!" Well, they were right by the sea after all. Growlithe opened wide and emitted the hot wind from her mouth, instantly turning the water that rushed onto shore into scalding steam.
The makeshift smokescreen would prove useful in providing cover for Growlithe and, hopefully, melting the feathers right off of Rufflet's body.

The move was indeed effective, but he couldn't go using to many of those here and there. Because for a powerful move such as that, there was always a set back. And this one just so happened to be recoil damage. As the Bravebird struck against the Growlithe's body. Sending her straight back to the ground. Damage well received and well regretting it. While the Rufflet flew on, the blue flames leaving his body. But the excess energy sending static throughout his body. But it was well worth it. Especially if he had dealed all that much damage directly to the opponent.
But there was a pause in the battle. As Eros began to think, sending his creative mind to work thinking up a strategy. He suddenly turned to the water, firing off a Heat Wave. Speedy raised a slight brow. As the water began to bubble and steam began to rise. Rufflet flew straight over to in. Taking the heated air current and soaring high into the air. "I see what you were trying to do. And it would have worked, if I had a Water Typed Pokemon. But this source of action is incorrect if you trying to hurt Apache. Birds actually rely on heated wind currents such as the one that you created to keep flying that way they don't have to keep flapping and tire themselves out. But now, it's my turn. Apache, let's go! Aerial Ace!" Flapping a few times in mid-air, the Rufflet made a complete U-Turn. Diving directly downwards straight for the Growlithe. As streams of silver power began to come from his beak.

ooc- scalding hot steam and a warm air current are two different things; i'm just saying.
"Brace yourself!" Growlithe hunkered down and prepared for the incoming attack; she didn't even yelp as Rufflet grazed her back with its attack and took back to the sky. "Follow it, Growlithe, and aim your Flamethrower at it!"
Growlithe raised her head and locked-on to the aviary enemy. She began to sprint after it, opening her mouth and letting an orange sphere manifest there before the thing spewed forth a continuous stream of fire. Eros's Pokemon would stay fixated on the target, doing its best to follow the feathered foe.

((Have you ever walked on a Road when it's incredibly hot outside. That's Scalding. But any way. According to Heat Dispersion. Whenever steam/heat rises into the air. It takes little time for the heat to be complete dispersed before it becomes cool once more and falls back to the ground. That's why whenever you boil some water if you put your hand right over it. It's incredibly hot. But as you raise your hand higher. It's not AS hot. ^_~)) The move didn't go according to plan. The original plan was for the Aerial Ace to hit Growlithe head on. But this worked just as good. Besides if the Aerial Ace struck directly then Apache would be in a tight spot due to being so close to the enemy. But since he just grazed him he was able to get away. But then again, it didn't matter much. Due to Growlithe being a fire type and able to use Special Attacks and all. Well Speaking about Special Attacks here one came. Th Growlithe fired a Flamethrower at the flying pokemon. With the Momentum and Speed of the Aerial Ace Apache was able to dodge it for a little while. But the attack just kept up and finally Apache was hit. In the side of the wing.
He started to fall out of the sky, before flapping a few times quickly regaining his balance. But he was back where he was before he caught the lift upwards. But it wasn't all bad, now it was his turn to counter attack. "Alright Apache, Let's see if she's afraid of Heights! Sky Drop and Hone Claws!" Apache suddenly made a direct B Line straight for the Growlithe. On the way down, Apache sharpened his talons, that way he was faster and did more damage. Attack and Speedy both went up by a single stage.

"Get out of the way, Growlithe!" Eros yelled out and watched his Pokemon roundabout before running off across the sand, trying to get away from the incoming Rufflet. The thing was coming in close with those talons, and Eros feared his Pokemon wouldn't be able to outrun the flyer.
She let out a yelp as she was grasped around the midsection and plucked up off the ground. Wakefield's Pokemon wriggled about while in the sky, trying to get away; after a certain height was surpassed, Growlithe didn't want to be let go, for the fall back to Earth would be unforgiving.

Speedy knew that this was it. As Apache closed in on it's prey as the natural eagle instinct. The Eaglet dove up snatching up the Growlithe, digging his talons into her skin. Suddenly lifting her off the ground. It didn't matter if she wiggled around, Apache was strong and could handle energetic prey. With a few strong beats of his wings they were both soaring into the air. The Growlithe seemed to have a fear in it's eye after being taken oh so high. "Hehe, I hope you're not afraid of heights. Alright Apache, that's high enough, release!" At the trainer's command, the Rufflet looked down at the Growlithe loosening the grip his talons had a hold on him until she was completely released. And the Growlithe began to plummet towards the sandy beach.

Growlithe yelped as she was released and began to free-fall back down to Earth. Eros quickly reached behind his back, snatching the Premier Ball from his Yellow Belt. His pokemon was spazzing out mid-air, afraid of the inevitable fall. "Return!" Eros shouted, summoning his dog Pokemon back into her Pokeball before she could become an orange and black pancake. "Don't think I'm being a sore loser; I'd just rather spare her the pain, if you don't mind. Of course, I'll count that as a loss," he said while whipping out yet another Pokeball. "Well, we've still got two Pokemon, yeah?"
Admittedly, Eros was a little upset about his former loss. Taking a L was something he could handle, but in particular he didn't like how this one had been acquired. If Skarmory had stayed in the battle, we could have had that one, he thought to himself as he tossed out Skarmory once again and waited for Speedy's second choice of Pokemon.

Speedy watched as the Growlithe plummeted to the ground. The Cartoon drum roll and whistling sounding off in the back of his mind. Waiting for the inevitable splat at the end. But, Eros had to ruin the fun and return his Growlithe before she hit the ground. But then again, that was probably best, wouldn't want a pokemon to be getting hurt now can we? Hurt pokemon equals sad trainers. Unless they are just complete douche bags and got angry with pokemon when they lost. But Eros didn't seem like that type of guy so he was alright.
Speedy raised a brow as he yet again threw out Skarmory. Hmm he was fairly fond of this Skarmory. But then again, who wouldn't be? Skarmory has astronomical, Defensive stats. And it a cast iron wall. But then again it's special defense stat wasn't all that big and proud. And that's exactly where Speedy would strike. He pulled out Apache's pokeball, returning him to the spherical home. The ball decreased in size as Speedy clipped it to his belt. Pulling out yet another ball. Pressing the large button in the middle making the ball enlarge. He tossed the ball casually onto the beach as the pokemon inside took flight. This time it was Daisy's turn. "Alright, Since you made the first move last turn. We'll take the first move this turn. Daisy, Let's Start off with Rainy Day, and Hurricane." Daisy did a small pirouette in the air, as the sky suddenly opened up and began to heavily rain. Before opening her wings wide flapping them as hard as she could has she made high speed winds causing a Hurricane.
Hurricane has a 30% chance of confusion [dice=10] If it lands 1-3 then Skarmory is Confused. [rand=143997058867148423342084521632585681301207179154676175026089837368]

Eros watched as a typical beautiful day was transformed into a dark and gloomy one that invited typhoons and water spouts and other natural disasters. Speedy's bird/water Pokemon had used a great combo just then; not too pretty, but effective. Sand was whipped up and Eros shielded his eyes as Skarmory dealt with the turbulence he experienced while flying. Eventually the hurricane was catch him in the chest and push him upward.
Finally finding the strength to break through the gale winds, Skarmory felt... for lack of better word, rattled by the storm. His head was spinning and he could barely focued, feeling confused as he tried to hone in on the enemy. "Use Metal Sound, Skarmory!" Eros yelled upward, letting a few drops of salty rain water touch his lips.
Skarmory was having a hard time seeing; it only made sense to utilize a move that Daisy would only have to hear, not necessarily be hit by. As Skarmory began to emit the harsh tone, he craned his neck back and forth out of confusion. It would take perhaps a loud crash of thunder to spare Daisy's ears from the deafening tones emitted by Skarmory.

Speedy watched as the Skarmory was thrown higher and higher into the air. Rapidly spinning around in circles and more than likely very dizzy. Even go far enough to say confused. The damage was the main thing he wanted, the confusion was just a bonus. Hmm Hopefully if he's lucky he would be able to get two wins in a row. Ehh It's possible. But then again maybe not. Eros was one tricky fella. Like now for example, instead of using an attacking move and risking the confusion. He used Metal Sound a move that wouldn't be able to hurt the user even if it was confused. Speaking about Metal Sound, it was launched through the air, directly hitting Daisy as she struggled to keep a straight flight pattern.
Might as well utilize the Rain while it's still active with a water attack. "Daisy use Bubblebeam." the Duck pokemon shook her head from side to side. Glaring at the Skarmory, that attack had lowered her defense stat by two. Hmph! I hope you rust in the rain. She thought before taking a large gulp of air and firing a stream of bubbles towards the metal pokemon.
(Sorry if my posts are off. Still not in a very... uppity mood.)

ooc- i completely understand. <3
Eros watched as his Skarmory took the time right after Metal Sound to get his own wits about him. Shaking his head back and forth a few times, Skarmory was trying to shake off the confused feeling he had and get his head back into the game. As he seemed to stop moving from side to side and focus on the blue avian opponent, his trainer knew he was ready to take this.
"Out of the way, Skarmory! Dodge the Bubble Beam!" he shouted up into the sky. The bubbles were coming in fast thanks to the rain; everything water-based just seemed to work better in the rain. But in the nick of time, Skarmory was about to barrel roll out of the way of the stream of incoming bubbles. "Now," his trainer started, "speed up with Automize and hit 'em hard with Night Slash!"
Skarmory's entire frame would begin to glow with a bright white hue - you'd think the next step in the glowing process would be evolution. Then, his wings glowed a crimson color that was a harsh contrast to the previous silver that they were. Moving noticeably faster, Skarmory headed straight for Daisy with intent to slice her with his keen wings.

(:\ If I just quit would you hold it against me? I'm in a terrible mood right now.)
For a strange reason, Eros' Skarmory seemed to recover quite quickly from confusion. More quickly than usual. As the pokemon was able to dodge out of the way of the bubblebeam attack. Speedy didn't really care for all of a sudden he was feeling rather... lousy. And wasn't paying all that much attention to the battle. And then apparently the Skarmory had so much time on it's had from being able to get out of confusion that it used Automize. To raise it's speedy by two stages. Then use an attacking move. Damn that must have been one of the fastest Skarmory's in the world. As the Skarmory rushed towards the Ducklett. The Attack struck, knocking Daisy out of the air and onto the ground. Completely knocked out. Speedy pulled out her pokeball, returning her inside. Before taking a sigh. It felt like a small part of his had died inside and didn't have the willingness to go on. "Zarbon I choose you." He muttered, pulling out the pokemon's pokeball and tossing it out onto the field.

ooc- of course not. i'll try to speed it up then.
Wakefield's Skarmory came down out of the sky, landing atop the sand very proud of the work he'd done. It had been a while since he'd seen battle, and he loved to remind Eros why he was the prime Pokemon of the party. "Great job as always, Skarmory," the trainer applauded before returning Skarmory to the ball.
As Bronzor was released, Eros thought about which Pokemon he'd send out now. Going with gut instinct, a ball was chosen and tossed: "Let's go, Squirtle!" The little blue turtle emerged onto the battlefield, feeling quite at ease, even with the rain storm going on. Eros had chosen this Pokemon because of the heavy raining.
"Alright, Squirtle, use Hydro Pump and make it a good one!" Squirtle opened wide before firing off a powerful jet stream of water from its mouth. In fact, it looked much more powerful to Eros than anytime it had appeared during training. It must mean... Critical! That, paired with the boost from raining and the boost from the hold-item in Squirtle's possession, made the attack mega-powerful. Eros hoped they'd get lucky with this one.

Speedy blew out a puff of air. As the Skarmory landed on the ground with a triumphant smug look on his face. Hmph, Show off. Just wait I'll wipe that smug grin off your face one of these days. I just need to... you know cool off. And Perk up I guess. He rubbed the back of his neck. Bending it to the side making it pop. "Maybe I can get Kaera to come visit me. Help me perk up." He muttered to himself. Eros decided to return his Skarmory who could have no doubt also beaten Zarbon if it had really wanted to. But instead he sent out something with neutral effectiveness. As well it was a lucky catch at that not to mention. Although it was kinda... small-ish.
Even with it's small stature Eros ordered the pokemon to release a powerful water type move. The move boosted up by both the Rain and a held item. The Hydro pump struck against Zarbon on the side of the head... body. Mirror... thing. It hit him! The Mirror pokemon rapidly spun around in the air, before falling down and hitting the sad X's in his eyes. Ouch! Much have been a Critical Strike as well. Lucky shot is all it was.
Speedy pulled out Zarbon's pokeball, returning it inside the device. Before looking back up to Eros. Can't let him know how you feel. Smile, act happy, and compliment him. He really just felt like crawling into bed and stay there for a few days. He put on a smile. And Nodded slightly. "Awesome Battle Eros, thanks for the experience. I guess I'll see you around." He said before turning and walking off. Mind intent on going to his dorm.

Squirtle's attack had hit dead on! As Bronzor went down, Squirtle blinked a couple of times in disbelief. Had he really just downed an opponent in one hit? Squirtle kissed the Mystic Water amulet around his neck, attributing his new found success to its great powers.
"Great job, Squirt," the trainer said to his Pokemon before returning it to its Premier Ball home. Speedy was on the opposite side of the battlefield, saying and doing the same. Eros began to approach him as the rain was letting up finally. "You did great, too. Did you want to hit the dining hall an--" but Speedy quickly expressed feelings of just wanting to leave - more than likely, he was heading back to his dorm. Eros quit talking and waved goodbye, heading off in the opposite direction.
