Name: Melissa Lafleur Age: 21 Appearance: Melissa isn't a tall girl, standing at about 5'1" tall. She's very thin, but also fairly busty. Her hair is long and straight, and it's colour is a natural pink. Her eyes are large and coloured a red that goes nicely with her hair. She has a cute face that can be mistaken for younger then it is (Though this mistake is usually rectified by her body). Her mannerisms are all over the place. She isn't someone who likes to sit still for very long and she's always moving. She also suffers from restless leg syndrome, which makes her leg bounce up and down without her even noticing. She also usually has her headphones on or around her neck.
Personality: Melissa is extremely intelligent. Her mind can process complex problems in a matter of seconds, and easily come up with answers. She's creative and inventive, able to think outside the box (sometimes too far out of the box). She could be an asset to the world easy, if she could just control her mind. Which is where the balance comes in. Melissa suffers from a major mental disorder that hinders her in life. She acts like a child and is very scatterminded. She also says and does things that are odd and out of place. She can still do normal activities (most of the time) but most heavy thinking is a no. It can randomly happen (much like anything else with this girl) but planning for it is impossible.
To focus on smaller things, something that really helps is listening to music. Music influences Melissa heavily and can effect her moods. Happy mooded music is best for getting her to focus. Also rewards are helpful. Melissa's mind is very much like a child and the offer of presents can get her working easily enough. She likes candy and stuffed toys. She eats a lot of candy and tends to have a hyper edge to her actions when dealing with people. She's also usually in a cheerful mood, and doesn't even seem comprehend things like depression. If something is depressing, she just moves on to something more enjoyable.
History: As a child, Melissa was considered extremely gifted. She picked up everything fast, from instruments to science. Her parents pushed her into everything they could think of, wanting to make her into some sort of multi-talented super genius that would make billions and get them on 'easy street'. Her childhood was work, work, work and she rarely had much fun. Her only friends consisted of stuffed toys and they were pretty much the only things she was able to have fun with. Her parents gave her a Skitty too, so she could learn to take care of Pokémon and add trainer/master/breeder/coordinator to her list. She really didn't have much interest in such things though, so she mostly treated her like a friend. Her first that actually had life and could react to her. She named her Assilem (asylum) with many connotations behind why.
However, as Melissa got older in body, her mind remained the same. She got smarter, yes - everything still came easy to her and she was showing potential to being one of the smartest people in the world. The problem though, was that she still acted very childish. And this only got worse as she got older. Her mind had snapped somewhere along the way and she had a tendency to say and do the most random things. Her potential went out the window in most people's eyes, since she seemed like she should be placed in a hospital. However, despite her broken mind, she was still a genius and prone to do things within her randomness that were surprisingly intelligent. She could still function properly, if handled a certain way. Many saw her potential as gone, but it was not and this was noticed by the staff of the Pokémon Academy. They knew that if they left her to do her own thing, she could easily stumble on some great discoveries. She also functioned very well as a receptionist for the lab, since that's where she'd be most of the time. They offered her a job, with plenty of fun incentives she'd like, and she accepted.
Occupation: Works in the lab/Receptionist
Dorm: The Lab Pokemon: Skitty named Assilem (pronounced Asylum)
