Kaera looked at the slip of paper in her hand and looked back up at the trees. She remembered the Luscious Forest very well and knew how to get to the section of forest where the Yellow Dorms lay nestled in the intertwining branches of the largest and oldest trees. The sounds of bugs and birds and other wild pokemon in the distance brought her a sense of peace she had longed for during her time away.
At her leg was Shrub, her Gloom, her starter back when Shrub was an Oddish. After leaving the Laboratory Kaera had let Shrub out and the two shared a long hug, both having missed the other greatly. Kaera walked with Shrub, holding her hand for a while- Shrub was still so proud of having hands- through the forest until they came to the Dorm area.
Now she referenced the paper and looked at the numbers carved into the tree bases until she found the one where she would be staying. She wondered if she had any roommates yet. Lifting Shrub up she sat the pokemon across her shoulders and Shrub gripped Kaera's longer hair to hold on. Not minding this at all, Kaera climbed up the rope-vine-ladder to the wooden platform just outside the door to her dorm. She knocked, got no response, then opened the door and let herself in with the key she had been given.

Rin yawned widely as she leaned over her desk, attempting to write some lyrics for a new song she was working on. Nothing seemed to be coming to mind, unfortunately. Gorou, Chamo, Kino and Purin were all out of their Poke Balls, while Nyonyo lounged around at Rin's desk. The Mudkip was currently squabbling with Purin at the moment while the Torchic and Shroomish stared on. Laz wasn't around in the dorm today so Nyonyo, the baby Whismur seemed a little down in the dumps that his 'daddy' wasn't around to play with him. He didn't really mind cuddling up to his 'mommy', however. Rin smiled lovingly at the Whismur, patting the little child Pokemon on the head before letting out another wide yawn. Perhaps walking around and some fresh air would make her feel more awake. Getting up ans stretching, Rin reached over to Nyonyo. "Come on Yo-Yo....Let's go for a walk..." Rin suggested in her softspoken voice followed by a smile. The Whismur happily leapt into his trainer's arms. "Alright guys...I'll be back..." Rin called over her shoulder at the other Pokemon. "Behave please..." she pleaded with them, her eyes lingering on Gorou for a second longer than the rest. She then left the room and began walking along the treehouse dorms.
"Eh...?" Rin looked up when she noticed a familiar face standing around the yellow dorms. The familiar Gloom also stood beside the familiar figure. She blinked, before her eyes grew wide in shock at the person who stood before her. "K-Kaera...?!" the trainer half shouted the name in bewilderment. She couldn't believe it. Kaera was here? She recalled the other female trainer having left the academy for personal reasons. Was Kaera finally back? Rin felt suddenly elated at seeing her friend before rushing over to Kaera's side. The moment she was close enough to Kaera, the teenage trainer poked the other girl before smiling meekly. "Kaera...! You're back...??" were the first words that tumbled from Rin's lips. A wide smile formed on her face. It had been too long since the last time she had seen Kaera. "How are you...??"
The baby Whismur that was curled up comfortably in Rin's arms trembled slightly at the sudde appearance of a new face. He observed Kaera as his sensitive ears twitched. Rin ran a hand along Nyonyo's head to comfort him before she looked back at the girl before her with a smile.

Kaera unpacked her few belongings- not bringing as much this time as she did last time, planning on being more studious and less adventurous- and looked at Shrub. Shrub smiled back at her and exclaimed "Gloom Gloom!" in excitement. Kaera couldn't help but smile and give her pokemon a hug, kneeling down to wrap her arms around her starter and hug her while lifting her.
"Ahh, good to be back Shrub" she said as they embraced. After a few seconds she put Shrub back on the ground and said "Lets go for a walk."
"Gloom gloom!" Shrub agreed vigorously, reaching for Kaera's hand and leading the way to the door. She jumped a couple of times to try and get the door knob then sighed and looked up to Kaera. Instead of opening the door, Kaera knelt down again and picked up her grass type pokemon, lifting her enough that Shrub could grab the handle and pull it down, letting them outside.
When they descended the rope vine ladder the two looked around for a moment before just walking in a randomly chosen direction with no real goal in mind. She didn't get far before she felt a gentle poke in her ribs. Giggling from the jab Kaera turned and smiled at Rin who seemed surprised to see her back.
Kaera reached out and patted Rin's shoulder. "Yeah Rin, I'm back" she said, smiling. Once upon a time she would have grabbed Rin and pulled her into a bear hug, but that was another time and another Kaera. "I'm doing..okay. How have you been? And how's Pur-" she stopped midway through Purin's name when she saw that the pink bundle wasn't the affectionate Jigglypuff but instead a rather bashful looking Whismer.
"Oh, I see you added to your team" she said with a smile, reaching out slowly to pet the new pokemon, not going to fast and ready to pull back should Nyonyo seem disinclined to be petted.

Rin smiled in a rather cheerful way when Kaera had announced that she had indeed returned. It was still rather shocking for the teen that Kaera was here, in the yellow dorms, within the treetops. She was even accompanied by Shrub, her Gloom which seemed attached to her as ever. "That's great..." Rin replied with a smile at Kaera's comment. "I'm glad...That you're back..." she said as Nyonyo looked up at Rin curiously. The little Whismur was still interested to know who exactly the girl before them was. "That's nice to hear," Rin nodded her head, glad to know that Kaera was doing fine. She still wasn't particularly sure as to why Kaera had left Pokemon Academy to begin with. She was sure her friend had her reasons so Rin decided to not question them. "I've been doing good too..." replied the raven haired girl with a small smile upon being asked how she was doing. She was able to guess what Kaera was about to ask about. Of course the other trainer was used to seeing Purin at her side rather than the little Whismur she now held. "Purin...?" Rin continued the sentence Kaera meant to say with a light smile. "She's doing fine...Ah...! She's a Wigglytuff now..." said Rin, updating Kaera with some new information. She was sure that Purin would be delighted to see both Kaera and Shrub. "She's in my room right now though...You want to come over to my place for...lunch perhaps...?" offered Rin in her usual bashful manner but managing her meek smile all the same.
As Kaera reached out slowly towards Nyonyo, the little Whismur hesitated, though seemed to lean towards Kaera out of curiosity. He was sure that if Rin was on good terms with this trainer, she was trustworthy enough for him. Nyonyo's ears perked up as his nose twitched from Kaera's approaching hand. Rin looked down at Nyonyo before patting him soothingly. "Ah...Yes I did..." said Rin sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her head. "This is Nyonyo...He's a baby Whismur though...Say 'Hi' Nyonyo..." encouraged Rin gently, bouncing the Whismur playfully. Nyonyo waved a little nubby hand in a timid manner before he allowed Kaera to pet him. "Whis..." mumbled Nyonyo, he couldn't help but find this new girl rather nice as well.

Adriel wandered quietly through the dorm, her Marrowak and Weepinbell at her side, both of whom were full of energy as always. All she was wearing was an oversized t-shirt and a pair of shorts, which is usually what she slept in. Also, she had yet to bother tying up her hair as it was down, instead of tied up the way she usually had it. Whether she had just woken up or it was pure laziness was anyone's guess, though it was somewhat rare that she wasn't out at the crack of dawn to start training.
As she passed through the area that Kaera and Rin were in, she smirked upon noticing Rin. She had seen her around, but had never really gotten to know her that well. All she knew was that she was apparently into music...and was insanely cute. Figuring 'why not', she walked up to the two of them. "Hey, Rin. How's it going? Oh, and hey Kaera." It actually took her a moment to fully grasp it, but, once it did, she almost flipped out due to the sheer happiness "Wait! Kaera?! Holy crap! When did you get back?!" Needless to say, she was happy to see her former roommate...almost to the point that she had completely forgotten that she had planned on hitting on Rin.

Kaera's hand very gently stroked the Whismer's forehead and cheeks after it waved at her. It was so quiet...hard to beleive it would evolve into something as obnoxious as a Loudred. Kaera smiled at the little baby pokemon then blinked and looked at Rin in surprise.
"Oh, Purin evolved...thats fantastic." she said with a cheery grin. Gloom let out a little cheer down by their legs and shuffled her feet around in a little dance that Kaera didn't recognize...must have been something she picked up while they were seperated. Kaera was able to easily understand what Shrub's outstreatched arms meant; pick me up! Kaera knelt down to pick up her pokemon and lifted her so that Shrub could see the Whismur as well. Very gingerly Shrub reached out and rubbed Nyonyo's arm-hand-nub thing.
Kaera thought about the lunch offer and thought that it couldn't hurt; she didn't need to do any school work yet as she had only just arrived and it was a weekend. "Sure" she said, "That sounds fun. I'd love to see Purin again."
She reached out with her free hand to try and tickle Nyonyo when someone stepped up and stood among the group of two, which was now evidently three. Kaera looked at the undone red hair and instantly recognized- with a slight rush of blood to her cheeks and lips- the lazy and undone appearence of her former roomate and good friend Adriel.
The redhead didn't seem to notice her at first, talking to Rin and greeting Kaera as if in passing. Kaera felt both releif and scorn at the dismissal of her presence. She didn't want to be brought back to school with a bunch of fanfare and over-zealous greetings, but for Adriel to act as though she had never left was-
Then Adriel seemed to realize that it was Kaera, the Kaera who was missing for several months. The expression on Adriel's face made Kaera laugh a little and reach out to pat her on the shoulder. "Hey Adriel, yeah its me. I just got back like an hour ago." she said, answering her question. "Er, how have you been?" she asked semi-casually, trying to prevent any awkward silences from forming. Shrub, still in one of Kaera's arms, was still petting and tickling and playing with Nyonyo, ignoring the humans since she felt the humans were ignoring them.

Nyonyo wriggled his ears in delight as Kaera patted him which made Rin smile down at the Whismur. She had been focusing on getting the little baby Pokemon more used to people other than herself and Laz. Exposing Nyonyo to someone like Kaera was a wise thing to do considering that Kaera was nice and rather gentle individual. It was quite obvious that the little Whismur seemed to be rather comfortable with Kaera. Nyonyo peered over to observe Shrub, feeling rather curious about the Gloom. As Nyonyo's ears twitched, the Whismur's head tilting to the side, Rin was continuing the conversation she was having with Kaera.
At Kaera's cheerful grin and comment about Purin evolving, Rin smiled in a jubilant manner. It was actually quite nice that Purin had finally evolved into a Wigglytuff. Unfortunately now that she was bigger, the balloon Pokemon could no longer rest herself on Rin's shoulder or head anymore. In fact, Purin now often stayed in the depths of her Pokeball, much to both trainer and Pokemon's dismay. She really had to thank Laz for that. "Yes...! I'm quite happy for her...! Have you decided to evolve Shrub or not...?" Rin asked her friend with a smile as she watched Kaera pick up Shrub. Reaching over, Rin gently patted the Gloom on her head. As Shrub began interacting with Nyonyo, the little Whismur let out a delighted recital of his name before nuzzling against Shrub's hands. He was beginning to take a liking to Gloom too.
Hearing Kaera's response to her offer resulted in Rin to become delighted. "R-really...?" She enjoyed having others over anyway. Despite her timidness, Rin did enjoy company of course. "Do you have...Any preference in what you'd like to eat for lunch...?" inquired Rin with a small smile. She was beginning to think just exactly Kaera would like to eat for lunch along with the rest of their Pokemon. Nyonyo seemed to brighten up at the sound of lunch going to be made.
Upon hearing her name, Rin turned about to see Adriel greeting her, joining the conversation between herself and Kaera. Rin knew Adriel from class and such but never really got to know the younger girl. Though Rin thought that Adriel was quite a nice person. She seemed to smile whenever she seen Rin and that seemed nice enough (as she was oblivious to the reason as to why Adriel smiled). "Ah...Hello Adriel..." greeted Rin with a light blush. Considering she didn't know Adriel very well, it was in her nature to blush. She watched as the two other girls began to converse with one another. Perhaps Adriel could join them for lunch. "Ah...Adriel...? Would you like to come to my place....for lunch....?" inquired Rin in her usual timid manner though offering her meek smile. Meanwhile Nyonyo was staring in awe and hesitating at the presence of Adriel's Weepinbell and Marrowak.

Adriel smiled lightly upon hearing Kaera ask her question, shrugging a bit "Pretty good, I guess. All of my Pokemon that are capable of evolving have done so at least once, plus I caught a ridiculously powerful Tropius. What about you? Where have you been all this time?" Naturally, had she known the truth, she wouldn't have even brought it up...but, seeing as how she had no way of knowing, it came off as naturally as anything else she says.
When Rin spoke, even Adriel couldn't help but blush slightly. This girl was almost too adorable. Adriel didn't even know such a thing was possible, and it was almost to the point where she felt bad about considering hitting on her. Not that she had any ill intentions, of course, but still. Sure, she was a perverted lesbian, but she would never do anything to make someone uncomfortable...at least, not on purpose. Sure, there was the awkwardness of having another girl hitting on you out of nowhere, but that was what amused Adriel so much...seeing that kind of reaction in other girls. Otherwise, she was totally harmless with it.
Either way, when Rin invited her for lunch at her place, she tried very hard not to twist her words around and make it sound like she thought Rin was asking her out on a date. Not that that would've made any sense, since Kaera was apparently also invited, but, at that moment, she was resisting the urge to say something like 'We've only just met and you're already asking me out? So you feel for me, eh?'...or something else along the same lines. Instead, she just smiled and nodded "Sounds great...I should probably put some actual clothes on, shouldn't I?" She then paused, then looked to the two of them "...wait...what time is it?"

Kaera glanced at the Gloom in her arms when asked about evolving her then said "Its not really my choice. When Shrub wants to evolve I'll get a Leaf or Sun Stone for her and let her choose." Shrub smiled up at Kaera and made a positive sound, clearly agreeing with her trainer.
The question about lunch made Kaera think a bit harder than the question about evolving her Gloom. She was on the hungry side of things but wasn't all too picky about what she ate. Glancing at Adriel a dirty thought about what to eat entered her mind but she pushed it away while saying "I really don't mind what we have...whatever you want since you're offering the meal would be fine by me."
Shifting Glooms weight to one arm, Kaera leaned in a bit and asked "Hey, would I be able to hold Nyonyo? He looks so cute and cuddly" she reached out again and wiggled her finger around Nyonyo's stomach in an attempt to tickle him and get his attention away from the two fiersome pokemon with Adriel.
She stopped dead, however, when Adriel asked where she'd been over the summer. With her expressions shifting from the simple bliss of tickling a baby pokemon towards a blank look she said, rather dully, "I was home." and didn't choose to elaborate on it. By not explaining she could avoid thinking about it at the moment and rather hoped that the question wouldn't be pressed. Every time Kaera thought about her mother she ended up curling up and crying for a good hour or more.
Fortunately she could occupy herself by answering the queestion about the time and Adriel's atire. "Its just past noon I think," Kaera said, checking her wrist for a watch that wasn't there, making Shrub chuckle in her arms, "But since we're just going to Rin's place I don't think you really need to dress up or anything, unless Rin would rather you wear something other than your pajamas."
