brighter than the sun|| I will NOT catch a Pokemon || "Shroom?" Kino the Shroomish was looking up at his trainer in a curious manner as she straightened her hat while they walked along Mount Sunrise. Glancing down at the mushroom Pokemon, Rin smiled slightly before she bent down to pat the Pokemon on his head. Out of her Pokemon party, Kino seemed the most relaxed out of the group. She had rearranged her Pokemon party recently due to the fact that she was able to evolve Purin and Cane, after receiving Moon Stones from Laz. Now she kept Purin, Kino, Gorou and Chamo on hand. Due to the fact that Purin had already evolved into a Wigglytuff, it was rather difficult to go traveling with her since she was a little larger than her pint sized Jigglypuff counterpart. Rin was aware that Purin kept forgetting just how big she was. The other day the Wigglytuff had attempted to climb onto her shoulders, which didn't go so well. Letting out a sigh, she felt Kino prod at her foot, catching her attention.
"Wanna be carried Ki-Ki...?" Rin asked the Shroomish with a small smile. The Shroomish nodded to which the trainer obliged, picking up the Shroomish and holding him in her arms. She needed to get a move on and train her Pokemon, starting with Kino. She was sure that that Shroomish was rather close to evolving anyway. With Kino in her arms now, Rin looked around at the terrain as she flipped her long hair behind her shoulder. "Ready to get started training, Ki-Ki...?" the trainer asked her Pokemon. The nonchalant Shroomish glanced up at his trainer before nodding his head followed by a recital of the ending of his name. Smiling slightly, Rin patted Kino affectionately on the head before she began walking north of Mount Sunrise. She really should find some Pokemon that Kino could train against. As Rin stayed on the look out for some Pokemon, Kino's eyes darted back and forth across the terrain. He was beginning to understand why Purin enjoyed being out of the Poke Ball so much. It was quite a nice experience to stay out longer than a simple battle. Rin had let him out of his Poke Ball since this morning and now it was afternoon.

Not far from where the trainer was, there seemed to be a small group of Pokemon. From the shadows and the way the light somewhat hid them, it appeared there were four tall bird like figures. Soon, the heads seemed to turn toward the girl and her Pokemon and a loud squawking could be heard. The figures began to charge, rushing toward her, revealing themselves to be two Doduos. The two Pokemons duel heads bobbed up and down as they charged. Cawwing out as they ran, they seemed determined to attack the trainer and her Pokemon.

brighter than the sunAs Rin continued down the pathway along Mount Sunrise she felt Kino begin to wriggle in her grip. Looking down at the Shroomish in alarm she suddenl heard a loud squawking sound. Kino had leapt from Rin's arms, ready to battle the oncoming Doduo in order to protect his trainer from the speedy bird Pokemon. Realizing the type advantage as well as the fact that Kino was outnumbered, Rin pulled out another Poke Ball to release Gorou, her Mudkip. She went straight to giving out commands considering the dire need of it at the moment as the oncoming Pokemon came to attack them. She knew that Kino's Grass type attacks had no effect on the Doduo so she decided to focus on his different attacks."Ki-Ki use Spore on one of the Doduo then Headbutt...! Rou-Rou Use Hydro Pump then follow up with a Take Down...! Make sure to help out Ki-Ki, Rou-Rou..." she commanded the Shroomish and Mudkip. Kino got into battle immediately as he unleashed large spores towards one of the Doduo. The fuzzy spores threatening to place the Doduo into a deep sleep. Kino then followed up with a head bashing Headbutt attack soon after.
At his trainer's command, the smug Mudkip smirked, liking the attack strategy that she had come up with. Of course he would help out his tag team mate but that didn't mean the Mudkip wouldn't have some fun while he was at it. Opening his mouth wide, Gorou unleashed a powerful jetstream of water at the Doduo, unleashing his Hydro Pump attack. Not wanting the Doduo to counter in anyway possible, the moment the Hydro Pump was released, Gorou already began rushing at the Doduo in a full out Take Down attack. He made sure to keep an eye out on Kino as well, making sure that the Shroomish would be okay. Kino was doing the same for Gorou. The Mudkip was getting better at tag teams now.

The two birds ran forward, eventually jumping up and seemingly gliding through the air. When they landed, their feet didn't miss a beat and landed gracefully, carrying their round bodies as they charged. They seemed intent, unfortunately, they had underestimated their competition. They were usually so good at knowing which trainers were new and weak, but then again, maybe they were losing their touch. Oh well, they'd still attack.
While they ran forward, the one going to the Shroomish felt the Spores hit him and he felt himself getting sleepy. Weakly, he attempted to use Peck as he started to fall asleep and got smacked by the Headbutt. The other, however, never even got a chance to get close. The second Dodou was hit by the Hydro Pump and flew finally, it flew! backwards, only to have the attack followed by the Take-Down. He hit the ground hard, not even able to check on his sleeping friend, because he had fainted.

brighter than the sunRin smiled slightly as she saw her strategy fall instantly into place. The first Doduo had instantly drifted off into a deep slumber thanks to Kino's Spore attack. The incoming Peck attack before the Headbutt was administered was something Kino had barely dodged, though the beak of the Doduo had managed to scrape slightly against the mushroom Pokemon's stubby foot. As Kino fell back into place, his eyes narrowing on his foe in case he needed to attack once again. There was no need, however, considering that the Doduo was already sleeping peacefully. Kino seemed rather pleased with himself for being able to take down a bird Pokemon. After all, it wasn't everyday a Grass type could overcome a Flying type. "Great job Ki-Ki..." complimented Rin with a smile as Kino turned to look at Rin with a bashful smile. Knowing that the Doduo could do no more further damage, Rin was able to glance over at her smug little Mudkip.
Gorou's pride had gotten to him when both of his administered attacks had successfully hit their target. He smirked as he pulled himself to his full height, giving his trainer a cocky stare. Rin smiled in return, placing her hands behind her back as she did so. "Wonderful Rou-Rou..." she told the Mudkip who seemed even more pleased with himself from the comment she had given him. Noticing that both Doduo were defeated, Gorou made a face. He wanted to battle more. Considering that neither foe could particularly battle any further, Rin motioned for her Mudkip and Shroomish to follow her, away from the defeated Doduo. Both her Pokemon obliged to this as they began to follow her.
Training seemed to be going along well at this moment. Kino and Gorou had already managed to defeat a Pokemon apiece, which was rather nice. Rin couldn't help but smile proudly at her two Pokemon. Gorou's behavior was steadily beginning to improve. He was still a smug little critter followed by rude and rater inconsiderate most of the time, but he had developed quite a respect for Rin and trusted her training. Of course Gorou wouldn't admit it, considering he had so much pride for a little Mudkip, but Rin was able to observe it. Deciding to reward both Kino and Gorou, Rin dug into her messenger bag to pull out her snack pouch. Removing two Poffins from the pouch, she gave one each to the Mudkip and Shroomish. Both Pokemon eagerly began to eat the treat which caused Rin to smile cheerfully.
"Let's finish up training with one more wild Pokemon fight you two..." Rin suggested to Kino and Gorou. Gorou gave Rin a 'why-only-one?' look whereas Kino agreed without complaint. The Shroomish was beginning to get a little sleepy, he wanted a nap when he got back to the yellow dorms that was for sure. Smiling at her Pokemon, she patted each on the head before turning to look around at the terrain, on the look out for wild Pokemon to train against.

Not far from where the two Dodou's were, a beautiful song could be heard being chirped out. Sitting on a branch, singing a soft song was a Chatot. She seemed very happy, just singing to the Pokemon that paced back and forth. This Pokemon, pacing, was a Delibird who waddled to and fro. The two didn't seem to notice the trainer and her Pokemon, yet at least.

brighter than the sunAs Gorou and Kino munched happily away at their snack, both Pokemon suddenly looked up when they heard a delightful song. Rin glanced about as well for she heard it too. Her eyes then rested upon the Chatot in the tree as well as the dancing Delibird. Rin blinked, finding this to be quite amusing as well as endearing at the same time. She glanced back down at her two Pokemon. Gorou was staring at the Chatot and Delibird as though they were aliens and Kino was beginning to absentmindedly twirl in tune with the song. Catching the mischeavious look that was steadily beginning to form in the Mudkip's eyes, Rin shook her head at him. Gorou, having caught his trainer's action made a face at her while feeling rather disappointed. It was just going to be a relatively harmless prank.
The two wild Pokemon seemed rather calm so Rin wondered whether she should simply ask the two bird Pokemon for a battle. As she hesitantly approached the duo, Rin smiled meekly at the two Pokemon. "Um...Excuse me...Would you two like to..." she trailed off before continuing. "Have a training battle...With my two Pokemon...?" Kino smiled in a way while Gorou rolled his eyes at his trainer's politeness towards wild Pokemon.

As the trainer and her Pokemon approached, the Chatot began to sing in a happier tone. She truly enjoyed letting others listen to her beautiful song. A bit arrogant, she was at least good at what she was full headed about. The Delibird, however, didn't notice the group until the trainer began to talk. When the challenge was issued, they looked at each other. They weren't big fans of fighting, but this girl seemed nice. At least she was asking to battle and not just out right attack them. Chatot's song ended and she smiled. Letting out a soft coo, she flew off briefly before returning with four berries. One in each claw, one in her beak, and one being held between the two in her claws. If they were going to battle, they'd need a snack to help them feel better afterwards in case they became too tired out. Also, not wanting to be rude in battle, the Delibird stood toward the Mudkip, while Chatot stood in front of the Shroomish. They would let the trainer go first.

brighter than the sunRin was rather happy when the Chatot and Delibird had accepted her proposal. They seemed to be the most kindest of wild Pokemon that Rin had stumbled upon since arriving on this island. She found herself bowing politely to the two bird Pokemon with a grateful smile on her lips. Kino and Gorou looked at eachother and the Mudkip came to the conclusion that since these two Pokemon seemed rather polite it would be a waste to pull any kind of prank of them. Noticing that the Chatot had brought down a branch of berries, Rin smiled gently at the parrot-like Pokemon. They really were very polite wild Pokemon, if not friendly. Compared to the attack of the Doduo, having two friend Pokemon to battle against seemed rather nice. When Rin realized that the Delibird and Chatot were allowing her to go first, she bowed towards them in a polite manner once again. "Ah...Th-thank you..." she told the two wild Pokemon with a small smile.
Glancing at her Shroomish, Rin smiled slightly as a plan formed in her mind. She didn't really want to hurt the Chatot nor the Delibird. "Ki-Ki...! Use Leech Seed then Headbutt...! Rou-Rou, Take Down and follow up with Mud Slap...!" Kino immediately obliged to the commands as he stood his ground and allowed seeds to sprout and dart at the Chatot that stood across from him. As the seeds attempted to sap at the Chatot's HP, Kino came then barging at the parrot Pokemon with a full on Headbutt.
The other battle between the Delibird and Gorou was also taking place as Gorou had followed through with Rin's commands. Unlike his more gentler partner, the Mudkip was slightly harsher with his attacks as he charged at the Delibird with a Take Down. He then allowed his tail collect some mud and dirt from the ground as he charged before turning swiftly in attempt to administer a Mud Slap on the penguin-like Pokemon.

With the battle commencing, the two birds took in the scene. The Chatot flapped her wings, lifting off of the ground. She then pushed up with more force, avoiding the Leech Seed. The colourful bird then flew upwards before Swooping down. Her beck began to glow white as she came in to attack with a Peck. As she came in, she was hit by the Headbutt, but she kept going and went to deliver a Peck.
Delibird however, was hit by the Take Down, but thanks to his staggering back, he rolled out of the way of the Mud-Slap. He then reached into his bag and pulled out a Present. Tossing it toward the Mudkip, he hoped it would be an attack, not a heal.

brighter than the sunRin noticed the incoming Peck that was about to be administered to Kino, the little mushroom Pokemon realized it as well. As his Headbutt collided with the parrot Pokemon, Kino was then struck by the Peck. With it being super effective, Kino took quite a lot of damage as he fell back onto the ground. "Ki-Ki...! Are you okay...?" Rin immediately asked the Shroomish. As Kino steadily got to his feet, he shook himself before nodding to Rin's inquiry. He was fine. Relieved, the trainer then began to formulate another plan for Kino. "Ki-Ki...Seed Bomb then another Headbutt...!" commanded Rin. If she was able to allow Kino to distract the Chatot with the barrage of Seed Bomb then perhaps the Headbutt could land another blow.
Kino stood his ground as he released a barrage of hard shelled seeds that rained down like grenades, falling about the Chatot. He then took this opportunity to charge at the bird Pokemon with yet another Headbutt attack as the less damaging attack threatened the parrot Pokemon.
Rin looked over at Gorou whose Take Down had taken affect much to the Mudkip's pleasure. The Mud Slap had been dodged while the Delibird threw a Present at Gorou. The Mudkip stared at the wrapped package with a 'what the hell' look before it exploded to deliver damage upon the Mudkip. Gorou flew backwards from the impact, having taken quite a lot of damage as well. Rin knew that it would be wise to finish the fight as she formulated a strategy for Gorou.
"Rou-Rou Water Gun at the ground...Then Hydro Pump...!" Gorou already knew this strategy no matter how strange it sounded. He smirked as he closed his eyes before unleashing a powerful Water Gun towards the ground, lifting the little mudfish Pokemon into the air. As Gorou was airbourne he waited until he was nearer to the Delibird before opening his mouth to release a mighty Hydro Pump blast.

Flying back up after the first round of attacking, the Chatot called out happily. Despite the fighting, it was at least a friendly battle. The trainer had pleasantly asked her and the other to fight, so she was happy, even after the hits. When the Seed Bombs came flying, she swooped and barrel-rolled, avoiding them all. Had they hit, it may not have bugged her much anyways, it was a Grass attack anyways. As she avoided and came back in, her beak opened and a loud blue ring fired out. She was coming in for a Hyper Voice attack, but she was going to fast. As she attacked, she was smacked by a second Headbutt. She rolled on the ground, now quite tired. Her speed, the powerful attack she used and the Shroomish's attack were causing her to get very tired.
Watching the Mudkip react and soon firing at the ground, the Delibird blinked. He wasn't sure how to act. Deciding the get ready, he tossed out another present, just in time to get hit by the Hydro Pump. Rolling back, he was done. His Present was still left out, but he was done the fighting.

brighter than the sun|| I will NOT catch a Pokemon || Rin watched as the Hyper Voice came looming overhead at Kino. The little Shroomish was in for some luck, however, considering that the Headbutt attacked had resulted in the attack to develop any further. Kino let out an exhausted 'shroom!' as he realized that the Chatot, like himself, was rather worn from the friendly battle. Especially from the Chatot's Peck attack really ahd a number on the mushroom like Pokemon. Kino then sat beside the little parrot Pokemon as he watched his partner finish up his own battle.
As Gorou's attacks were successful, the Mudkip seemed very proud with himself. However, the Delibird didn't hesitate to unleash a final Present attack before calling it a battle. This attack exploded at Gorou resulting in the little Mudkip to get knocked off his feet. Realizing that both her Pokemon and the wild Pokemon were rather tired from their battle, Rin smiled slightly, deciding to end the friendly mingling here.
"Alright you two. That's enough..." Rin told Kino and Gorou in her softspoken tone as she walked over to them, picking up the Mudkip would seemed intent on having more fun. Gorou struggled in Rin's grasp before falling limp, only realizing now how exhausted he was. Smiling, the trainer patted Gorou on the head as Kino came rushing to her side on his stubby legs. Rin then turned to look at the Delibird and Chatot, giving them a polite bow for their services. "Thank you for battling with us" she told them kindly, reaching over to pat both wild Pokemon on the head. "It was fun...!"

Both Pokemon breathed heavily. They were exhausted. They watched as the trainer stopped her Pokemon and began to head off. "Chat!" it called out weakly, but happily. Both it and the Delibird rolled over and grabbed a Berry and quickly munched on it before looking to the trainer. Both grabbed the two spares and held them out for her to take. It was a nice battle, and it looked like her Pokemon could use a snack too.
