Kaipo seemed to be so shy around most of her pokemon and easily intimidated by Persephone. Sage even encouraged him to train with her female Numel, Amor so Kaipo could have a first-stager to relate to. But a problem was that Amor would rather hang out with her big brother Magmar named Huo who Sage caught on the same day and around the same location of the volcano. Sage found out from Persephone who heard one of their conversations that Amor used to go to Huo to complain about her family troubles before Sage had caught the Numel. And there was her Starmie, Kai who thought Kaipo would get along with but that wasn’t the case unfortunately. Her starmie just liked to bask in the sun and would lay on a rock for hours and hours. Finally Sage found out what was the problem, Kai wasn’t a fighter and she guessed maybe Kaipo wasn’t accepted because of that. She noticed that he would freeze up when things got rough training. He would cuddle with her at night time but during training, he wouldn’t be able to concentrate. He needed someone to give him focus and confidence or maybe being a battling pokemon wasn’t his thing?
Now here she was, leaning against the fence at the trainer’s field at the ranch with her slowpoke, Kaipo who was napping by her feet just lazing around. She had met up with her friend Thomas who had a Houndour named Cerberus who seemed like a perfect pokemon that would get along with her fire-type pokemon especially that she was planning to become a fire-type specialist/gym leader. She wasn’t sure if Thomas wanted her water-type pokemon since he already had a few of them. But then, Van seemed to catch an interest in her Slowpoke. Prior to today, they had agreed to meet up at the trainer’s field to trade their pokemon. Sage felt like she came to the trainer’s field a bit too early since no one was there and the fact she had to force herself to wake up on time, which seemed to be working nowadays. She was almost always late to things before but she was improving now. But it backfired since she was too early this time. So she settled on instead sitting against the fence, putting on her headphones as she waited for Thomas and Van to meet up with her.

A Trade, A Gift
And a New Teammate Having recently caught a Chingling after Kumajiro and him dealt with his parents, Thomas had went out and caught some Fire types. He hadn't had any Fire types since living on the farm, and when he went to the Volcano, he gained three Fire types. He really didn't need that many fire types, and having more than one fire-dog made him miss his Pokemon back home even more. So he had contacted Sage and Sage mentioned something about a large trade. Figuring he could trade one of his dogs and gain a new friend, Tom also thought this would give him a chance to give Sage a gift. Tom didn't need the Darumaka he had caught, but he didn't like being used like it had done to him. So he had attacked it and caught it. He knew Sage loved Fire types, so he knew he could trust her to take care of it. So walking with Hades, who had James, the Chingling, around his neck like a collar, Cerberus walked on Tom's other side. Cerberus was the one he was trading to Sage, while he was keeping Hades. The Darumaka was asleep in Thomas' arms. He didn't know if he'd give her the round Fire type to her at the start or the end. Thomas also felt a bit bad for not having Tumtum with him, but he knew his starter wanted to spend time with Purin. He knew Rin would watch over him while he spent time with Purin, which was nice. The two really liked eache other.

Who could it be? She rubbed her eyes and looked upward and she could see her friend Tom walking toward her. She quickly stood up and ran her hand against her silver-blond hair to make her hair less messy. Once she felt like her silver-blond hair was neat enough, she looked back at Tom and could see two Houndours walking beside him. She wondered which one was the Houndour she was going to receive. Once she got the Houndour, she would promise to take care of him as best she could and make him a great pokemon especially when she becomes a gym-leader. There wasn’t any other alternative in her goal. Then she saw a Chingling around one of the Houndour’s neck acting like a sort of collar. Sage smiled thinking that just was so adorable. She wouldn’t mind having a Chingling herself. But what really caught her eye was the Darumaka that Tom was cradling in his arms. Her eyes lighted up seeing one of her most favorite pokemon right in front of her and just so cute!
She greet Tom happily with a peck on the cheek and laughed, “Hey you.” She looked back at her snoozing Slowpoke and turned back to Tom, “Kaipo’s just napping right now. We did a bit of exercising at the beach earlier. He’s probably worn out.” As she bent down to Houndours’ height and put her hand out by their noses to gain their trust, she asked Tom, “What are their names?” She addressed the Houndours with a soft smile, “Don’t worry ‘bout me, I don’t bite.” She had an urge to add “too hard” but she decided not to since it didn’t match the situation. She stood back up and looked intently at the sleeping Darumaka and grinned, “Your Darumaka’s adorable Tom. What’s the Darumaka’s name?” She wanted to ask him if she could hold the Darumaka but unfortunately, it was still sleeping.

As Tom came closer, he noticed Sage fixing her hair before looking toward him. Smiling back to her, he gave a light wave, making sure not to let go of the Darumaka. When they two got closer, Tom spotted the sleeping Slowpoke. Very typical for that Pokemon; they were a lazy species. When he felt her kiss on his cheek, he blushed lightly. That was highly unexpected. "Nice too see you too, Sage!" Tom greeted back to her.
When she talked about the Slowpoke, he laughed and nodded in an understanding way. As she went down in front of him and held her hands out for the dogs, both reacted differently. Hades growled lightly, thinking the girl was going for James, who hung around his neck. "Down Hades, she's not going to take James" Tom ordered. Hades stopped, reluctantly, then sat down. James, however, chimed happily and waved at Sage with his tiny arms. Cerberus looked up to Tom, and Tom smiled. "Yup, that's her, she's the one you're going to" Tom explained. Cerberus looked back to Sage and nudged her hand, turning it so the palm was at his nose. With a little snff, he gave it a lick and let out a happy bark, waking up Dobby.
"Oh this sleepy guy? He's Dobby, and actually..." Tom began, lifting the now awake Pokemon by his sides. Looking to Sage, then grabbing out Dobby's Pokeball, Tom was about to finish his explanation. "I know how much you want to be a Fire Gym Leader, I thought you may like to have him, as a gift" Tom told her, handing her the Pokeball. "It's not that I don't like him, he's just a bit too much of a trouble maker for a Breeder to keep up with" he laughed. "So I thought you could set him straight and maybe use him" he added.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: black;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] After Tom had greeted her saying it was nice to see her too, she added casually with a smile, “It’s been a while since we last saw each other. Well not that long—but still. We should catch up sometime. Besides I think Zeal wants a rematch” as she giggled at that last part. She sighed, “It’s going to be a while though. Feel a bit bad but I need to seriously train up my fire type pokemon,” and looked at Thomas intently, “I am determined to become the best fire type gym leader in the whole world.” Then an awkward pause and Sage suddenly laughed, “I sounded so serious didn’t I? But I really want wait no need to reach my dream goal you know?”
When she had put her hand in front of one of the Houndour’s nose, she almost gasped since she thought the Houndour might have bitten. But then again, she faced worse especially with her feisty onyx-colored Ninetales, Persephone. She was a bit scary sometimes, even on good days, bad days would be just awful. It’s a good thing that didn’t happen yet. Well, it was a blessing in disguise when Amor came into the picture since it had brought out Persephone’s motherly tendencies, which had calmed her temper more often. She heard Thomas call the Houndour who growled at her Hades and telling Hades she wouldn’t take James who Sage guessed that was Chingling. She realized that the Houndour that was going to be traded and that she was going to receive was the other Houndour. Seeing the Chingling wave at her, she waved back greeting the little guy, “Hi there James. Nice to meet you.”
Sage was relieved that Cerberus didn’t react the same way that Hades did. After seeing that, Cerberus seemed to be alright with her. She didn’t want any of her pokemon to not trust her. She smiled softly at the Houndour, “Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of you Cerberus.” She was elated when it seemed that Cerberus trusted her when he had licked her hand tickling her and almost making her laugh and heard him let out a bark right after. It didn’t sound like a warning bark, more like happy right? She hoped so. She stood up but not before scratching gently behind Cerberus’s ears to hopefully add to gaining his trust. She didn’t want any of her pokemon to not trust especially when she would need them the most.
She asked what was the name of Darumaka that seemed to be almost waking up and Thomas told her that his name was Dobby. She thought the name sounded funny but to her, it seemed to match the Darumaka. She wasn’t too sure why exactly though. But Thomas seemed to be hesitant as he had trailed off in continuing. She watched as Thomas had suddenly brought out a poke ball that Sage guessed it was Dobby’s poke ball and he quickly returned him. She wondered why he just suddenly returned the little guy instead of leaving him out. Right after, she listened to him and widened her eyes when he said she could have Dobby as a gift, “Are you sure?” as she hesitantly accepted the Darumaka’s poke ball. She grinned when he told her about Dobby being a troublemaker and smiled, “I think I could handle this little guy just fine.” If she could handle Persephone being a bitch and Huo being a prankster, she felt she could handle Dobby being a troublemaker. She told him, while hugging him, “Thanks Tom. You don’t know how much this means to me. Darumaka is one of my most favorite pokemon. I’ll take good care of him.” She put the poke ball on her silver belt and then searched in her bag and finally found a chocolate bar, “I don’t really have anything to give back to you but um I have a chocolate bar?” as she held out the snack for him, “It’s really delicious.” She continued stating, “I guess all we need to do is wait for Van huh?”

Post by Van Akiyama on Sept 19, 2011 14:42:53 GMT -5
Van had been up since early that morning in order to catch up on all of the school work that he had missed during his absence. It had been a long and tedious process, but the student had managed to finish all of the work he had been assigned before noon arrived. After he had eaten lunch, Van had made a quick trip to the city to do a bit of shopping. He had been low on spare strings and polish for his instrument since he had left for his uncle's funeral and hadn't gotten a good chance to replenish his stock during his time at home. Once he arrived back in his dorms, he had performed some maintenance on his bass guitar.
By the time he was finished, it was almost time to meet up with Sage and Thomas at the ranch. The three had agreed to have a triangle trade between the three of them, since all three had Pokemon they were willing to trade. He was trading away Gusios, the second Lairon that he had caught. Since he had decided to use Solum in his party, the second steel type hardly ever found a spot in his party and usually spent its time at the ranch. Like Solum, Gusios had been wild and savage when it had first been caught. However, after some training and taming, its savage side was subdued and eliminated. Like Solum though, it was still rude and abrasive in manner and still often acted like a spoiled child. After putting on one of the new outfits that his mother had bought him while he was home and packing his guitar in its case, Van set out to meet up with his fellow students at the ranch.
After a quick trek from his dorm, Van found himself entering into the Trainer's Fields. It was the only area of the ranch that trainer were even allowed to step foot in. Looking towards the other areas, Van could see many Pokemon roaming, playing and relaxing within the other areas of the ranch. Near the Crystal Lake, Van could see his own Cryogonal, Glacies, floating quietly above the water. The ice type's ice strings were glazing across the top of the water, creating a thin trail of floating ice behind it. After watching his Pokemon relax a bit, Van rolled his shoulders to shift the guitar case and pack he was wearing into a more comfortable position and looked around. He quickly spotted Sage, Thomas and their Pokemon talking not far away from the entrance and made his way over to them. As he approached, he could see Thomas giving Sage a pokeball and tell her about one of his Pokemon being a trouble maker.
"Sorry I'm late. Looks like you two are just waiting on me right now..." Van said as he approached his two fellow students and gave a small wave. After glancing at both of the other students in turn, Van plucked a pokeball from his silver belt and released Gusios beside him. The Lairon cast a short glare at the two trainers it didn't know before turning away and looking towards the other areas of the ranch. "Gusios' attitude and manners still need some work, but he'll listen once he gets used to you." Van said. After glancing down towards Gusios again, who was staring at the Cryogonal floating above the lake, Van offered the Lairon's pokeball to Thomas. "Take good care of him."

"Of course Sage!" Tom replied. He had wanted to spend more time with her. She was a fun person to be around and Tom enjoyed their hanging out. Thomas then nodded as she spoke, and gave a light laugh when she mentioned sounding serious. "That's perfectly alright, no worries" he laughed.
James and Hades were now away from Sage, but not before the Chingling could happily chime at Sage when she greeted him. Cerberus let out another little bark and nuzzled Sage's hand happily.
As he handed over Dobby in the Pokeball, he nodded. "I'm positive" he replied, smiling. He nodded again, sure she could handle the small Pokemon. And as she pulled out the chocolate bar, he laughed and shook his head. "No, not needed. I had caught him and just thought you'd like him, I don't need anything for him" he told her, then nodding to her comment about Van. Yes, they would have to wait.
When he noticed/heard Van finally arrive, Thomas grabbed out Cerberus' Pokeball. He quickly dashed to Hades and the two high-fived their paws together, then rubbed their foreheads together as a goodbye. Thomas smiled and returned to looking at Sage and Van. Tom nodded at Van and took the Pokeball. "Thank you, I'll do my best for him. Sage, this is Cerberus's Pokeball. He already seems to like you, so I'm sure you two will get along fine"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: black;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] She lightly grinned back at Thomas, “Cool Tomtom,” and winked at him. She had a feeling she was going to see this guy more often than she thought she would. Besides, it was refreshing that he was different from most of the guys she personally knew. Thomas was more down-to-earth, light-hearted, and sweet overall, something she enjoyed from him. She enjoyed the Houndour, Cerberus nuzzling her hand because Sage felt like the Houndour was comfortable with her already and hopefully would be easy to work with.
Even though she really wanted the small Darumaka, she wondered why her friend, Thomas would just give the Darumaka as a present even though Darumaka was a troublemaker. Giving a gift was usually reserved for someone close and special. She was Thomas’s friend but they didn’t know each other that well yet. So she hesitantly accepted the Darumaka’s poke ball and hugged him, “Really appreciate it. I’ll get something for you promise” as she put Dobby’s poke ball on her silver belt. She’ll have her work cut out for her training all her fire type pokemon to become strong fighters to help her become a top-notch fire gym leader one day. But she still had a long way to go.
Seeing Van arrive, she took out Kaipo’s poke ball from her silver belt and returned the napping Slowpoke back into his ball. She smiled softly remembering how she gained the trust of the Slowpoke and how affectionate Kaipo turned out to be—how unexpected that was. She watched Thomas take out a poke ball as she then saw Cerberus say his goodbye to the other Houdour who appeared to be great friends with. She definitely was going to visit Thomas so Cerberus could see his good friend again.
She heard Van apologize for being late but she reassured him, “Nah, I think I came a bit too early. Don’t worry about it.” After Van had given Thomas his Larion’s poke ball and Thomas gave her Cerberus’s poke ball, she replied as she put his poke ball on her silver belt, “Thanks. I think so too,” with a foxy grin. She faced Van and handed him Kaipo’s poke ball, “Here’s Kaipo’s poke ball. Take good care of him alright? He’s a bit on the affectionate and needy side, loves to latch himself on your leg once in a while especially when he’s scared or wants attention. He’s a good pokemon, just needs to work on his confidence.” She gave them both a bar of chocolate for the three-way trade, hugged both Van and Tom, kissed them both on their cheeks as a goodbye, and happily walked away excited for Cerberus to meet the rest of her fire squad.
