He really should have known better. Go climb up the mountain, he thought, it would be fun. It shouldn't be that much harder than hiking up a mountain. Nothing should go wrong.
"I really should have learned that tempting fate is a bad idea by now." Yuki looked down at the lava below him and swallowed hard. He edged away from the cliff and looked around in a bit of fear.
It had started simple. Go climb the volcano and see what's up there. Then he had to go and mess it up. He had gotten lost on a volcano that had lava or magma or whatever it was called around him. There were likely to be dangerous Fire types around and half of his party was weak against Fire type. The only saving grace was that Elsie was now a Dragon type and thus resistant to Fire attacks.
"This thing is useless." The boy threw the rabbit's foot he had been using as a good luck charm away and tried to remember which direction he came from. He couldn't recall which direction it was and got frustrated. "Where the heck am I?"

"Well, this is always a treat."
Laz murmured against the rushing wind as he stood on his Crobat who was flying pretty fast. He was trying to get some training in if there ever came an event for Aerial battles. Or just flying, really. Besides, the rush of the wind on his face always did feel good so long as Jubei didn't play tricks and just swerve and turn and barrel roll the fuck out of Laz's Balance.
Either way, Laz was already thinking about going near the rim to see if there were any good fire pokemon to battle with. Vulcan needs to let loose once in a while too and the recent fights haven't been something that would actually help him.
Still on the look out, Laz kept flying with his Crobat.

"Tch, no one is around." Yuki sighed and released El to keep himself company. The little Emolga didn't say much, but that was fine with Yuki. He just wanted the little guy near so he didn't feel as alone. "Typical."
The trainer with the Emolga resting on his head looked around and frowned. He thought he saw something weird on the ground. He scanned the ground and saw a odd looking shadow moving quickly across the ground. Feeling a bit odd, Yuki looked up into the sky. He squinted past the sun and saw what looked like a person on a pokemon in the sky.
"Hmm, that's odd." Yuki mused to himself before smiling. Unable to resist the urge, Yuki called out into the sky. "Hey, what's the weather like up there?!"

"The weather is fantastic!"
Laz roared over the skies as he answered his fellow students question that came from below. Feeling the wind rush towards his face again as his Crobat began flying faster before quickly descending down at insane speeds. Laz smiled a huge one, loving the thrill of the sudden danger and rush of air that was suffocating him. It was a bit masochistic, but Laz could seriously have fun with this kind of activity.
Slowing down by flapping its wings, the Crobat had managed to control enough force to allow his trainer safe passage to the ground. The red head, getting his cue, jumped off his Crobat and landed on his feet before falling into an awesome roll and sliding to a halt, all ninja like.
"Oh , hey man. Long time no see."
Laz said with a grin, recognizing the guy from a certain incident involving wild Gyarados and life threatening situations where he almost had to forfeit his life.
"What's up? Getting into more life and death situations?"
