I Plan To Catch a Pokemon After leaving the Lab and stopping at his dorm briefly, John had let out the Pokemon he had thought was a Machop. To his surprise, however, he released as Yamask. It hadn't been what he had expected, since he had picked the Machop, but he wouldn't complain. A Ghost Type would be good for him. After looking up some stats on the newly named Cleo, Johnny had left to go to the Mansion were Psychics could be found. That, if he was lucky. There were also more Ghost as well as Dark Types there. He was, though, hoping for a Psychic type. So, after leaving his dorm, he made his way to the Mansion, Cleo floating by his side. Arriving at the area, Johnny decided to explore around the outside of the building first.

An eerie voice can be heard talking to the young trainer stalking around the grounds of the mansion. "What are you waiting for? Come inside and play!" the demonic voice shouts before turning into maniacal laughter. If the young boy looked up just in time, he'd see a pair a blinking red eyes peering down at him through the window before whoever - or whatever - it was retreated back into the manor. Turn back now or stay on this ride?

As John walked around, he let out a heavy sigh. Apparently there was nothing on the outside for him to find. That was a shame. That meant he'd have to go inside and thus break the rules. He didn't want to, but he needed another member on his team. He looked to Cleo after hearing the voice and he muttered to himself. "Apparently we're wanted inside....Hopefully it's not another Ghost, don't need the same type" he said. Yamask nodded behind him, but kept quiet. Walking inside, John looked around, but went in the opposite direction as the window where the voice had come from.

As the trainer entered the house but went the opposite way of the set of red eyes, their owner appeared. A wild Haunter manifested in thin air behind the boy and his Yamask, watching them walk away.
"Boo!" the thing shrieked out with a blood-curdling voice, flinging its arms off into the air, literally. A few doors swung open and then slammed shut - likely alerting the headmaster of a trespasser. Maniacal laughter was heard as Haunter disappeared again.

As John looked around, he let out a sigh. As if there wasn't anything around here for him to capture. This was a waste of time and a potential for getting in trouble. Soon, however, what had called him in appeared behind him and attempt to scare him. The loud BOO startled him, but didn't scare him. Cleo had been more scared and she phased through John as her trainer turned just in time to see the doors fling open and the Haunter disappear. "Oh, scary...." he said in a mono-toned voice. Cleo was scared though, which was odd for a Ghost type. "Come on girl, I want to find something to go with you as a pair...I need a full team if I'm going to be a good enforcer of the law"

The mischievous ghost-type Pokemon reappeared, slightly offended that the trainer didn't seem to be all too frightened by his antics. The Haunter decided that if that was the game this boy wanted to play, then he would play along too - and win! The Pokemon used Nightmare - its eyes glowed red once again as its dreamlike manifestations came to life.
Haunter had conjured up two life-like Sableye to spook the trainer. But a third, live Sableye had crept into the mix, not wanting to miss out on the fun. The three little hooligans approached the trainer, bearing their teeth and swiping their claws at the sky. Can you spot the fake?

Noticing the Haunter reappear, John smirked. It was determined to get to him, wasn't it? Cleo stayed behind her trainer, watching the scene unfold in front of them. When the eyes began to glow red and flash, Johnny perked up an eyebrow. Looking behind himself, he noticed Cleopatra sliding down to hide even more behind him. When the Sableye's came up and began towards him, bearing their teeth and throwing their hands in the ayer, a-a-ayer-er air, John yawned. "Nice trick Haunter, really, I applaud you, I'm just not scared that easily. You scared Cleo though, so didn't you accomplish what you wanted, to scary something, at least?" John stated. Watching the Sableye's get closer, John stepped back a bit, hearing the old house creak. "If you want me to leave, help me find something I can use on my team. You and your little Sableye friends would bee too much of a fight for me to stand against. You should help me find something weaker and then I'll tell you what really scares me" John added, nodding at the Haunter, thinking all the Sableyes were actually real and just friends. Hopefully Haunter would be helpful. Johnny was good for his word, he'd tell it what scared him if it did.

Haunter would release a cackle and moaning spectacle of howling laughter at the trainer's attempts to strike a deal with him. He didn't want him to leave at all; Haunter was having too much fun with him! Hopefully, Master Tao would wait til later to intervene so that Haunter could think of another prank to pull. But for now, the ghost Pokemon faded away - taking his fake Sableyes with him.
As the other two Sableye vanished into thin air with the exit of Haunter, the real cretin realized that he was now on his own. His eyes lit up as he used Mean Look, trying to lock Yamask in place.
