Thomas had been examining his team and his friends lately and decided that he had been missing an important part. He still didn't have a Grass type. He had two thirds of the starter trio, Water and Fire, but no Grass. So, taking his best Grass-beaters, Kuma, Regal, Aquila and Hades, Thomas headed to the forest. Along with his four that had clear advantages, Thomas also had Tumtum, who never left his side, that knew a Fire and an Ice move, as well as James. James, the Chingling, never left Hades side. He was like a collar to the dog-like Pokemon, it was cute.
Beside Thomas today, while walking, was Hades and James. James was around Hades neck, swinging happily as the two walked beside Thomas. Petting the pup on his head, Thomas wandered into the Forest and hoped to come across a Grass type.

What a nice day to explore the forest! The sun is shining brightly, but not too much as to burn, the Pidgeys are chirping happily, the Kricketunes are playing their peculiar tune, and all the Pokemon in the forest seem to be in such a good mood. It's truly a beautiful day. As you walk across the forest, you can see a variety of paths, each with their distinct options. One leads to the east, another goes diagonally, to the north east, and the last one goes west. There isn't much distinction from the paths, so be careful on your way back. It's easy to get lost sometimes. Alternatively, if you feel up to it, there's a tree up there that looks easy to climb and some vines. Not Tarzan? Sorry. </Mod Post>

Oh, a lot of paths. Thomas was the type to love yet hate being given so many choices. He always liked exploring each path, but when he didn't have time, he felt upset for not being able to see what each held. He looked around at each path, not even noticing the large tree that could be climbed. "What do you think Hades?" Thomas asked. The Houndour began sniffing the ground and went towards path going to the Northeast. Unfortunately, James, the Chingling, chimed and then began to tug the dog toward the West path. Thanks to being around his neck, it basically chocked him until he followed. "Alright, let's go this way then..." Thomas laughed before following them to the West.

West it is. As you keep on walking through the forest. You see two different paths again, but this time, there's something peculiar about one of the paths. You can hear what seems to be two Pokemon bickering and yelling at each other. It's truly disrupting the synergy of the forest.
You can go explore the noise, or inconspicuously take the safer route.

The path continued, Hades sniffed the ground, continuously looking from the ground to the path ahead. Looking up to his trainer, the Fire/Dark type added some bounce to his step, making James make some sound. It's sounds weren't loud enough to block out the new sounds however. Hades let out a growl and before Thomas could react, his Houndour rushed toward the noise. "Wait up!" Thomas called, going after Houndour. The dog like Pokemon lead his master down the path of the noise.

As you walked by, a small green thing seems to have been making its way towards you. An angry Treecko, who had just caught her mate cheating on her with a Snivy, stormed around the forest, attacking anything in its path. So far, everything that has fallen to her anger has been a trail of fainted bug-types further across in the path. Noticing the fire-type in ahead of her, the Treecko decided to hide and blend into the grass. She knew it was too foolish to attack anything that could burn her, as much as she welcomed the burning surrender. Hiding around the grass, she watched the trainer and his Houndour carefully. </Mod Post> [/blockquote]

Thomas couldn't help but notice the ground littered with knocked out Bug type Pokemon. It was quite a sight. Whatever did this had to be pretty strong. Bug types weren't the strongest Pokemon, but there was a lot of them downed. Thomas glanced around, and then saw Hades rush to a patch of Grass. He was now barking and growling at it. Before Thomas could react, Hades released an Ember attack at the hiding Treecko. He was quite an aggressive Pokemon. "Woah, what is it Hades? You really should listen to me before attacking!" Thomas told his pup.

A shrill cry was heard as the Treecko was drawn out with her tail on fire. Rolling around in the ground to extinguish her flames, she stared down at the Houndour who burned her tail angrily. She had a bad day, and wasn't going to stand for this. Even if she was at a big disadvantage.
She began to Screech loudly, in an attempt to lower the Houndour's defenses, and subsequentially followed it with a Slam attack.

Thomas cringed a bit when he heard the Pokemon cry out and run out of the bushes with her tail on fire. He felt a bit bad for her, but when he heard the Screech, his pity faltered. He winced and covered his ears before hearing Hades let out a yelp. Poor thing. With dogs sensitive hearing, it was no surprise that the Screech had hurt. The yelp had covered James's cry too. Hades then staggered back as he felt the Slam hit. "Hades, Smog!" Thomas ordered. Hades glared back at Treecko and released a thick cloud of black smoke toward Treecko. With any luck, it would hit and maybe poison her ([dice=10] 40% chance of poisoning, so a 1-4, Treecko is poisoned if it hits). "James, back him up with Confusion!" he added. James chimed then fired out a purple wave of energy at Treecko ([dice=10] 10% chance of confusing, so a 1 means she'll be cofused if it hits)

<Mod Post> The Treecko coughed, being caught in the Smog was no fun at all, she managed to breathe in just enough to poison her, and that was no fun at all. It was bad enough she was ensnarled with a Smog attack, but now she was getting double teamed. Rolling back from the Confusion attack, she looked at the path behind her. If she timed it right, she could hightail it out of there before she was completely destroyed. She was initially going to stay there and fight honorably, but when two Pokemon decided to attack her at once, that plan collapsed, alongside her confidence.
Using what remained of her adrenaline, the Treecko jumped into the sweet retreat of the grass and began running as fast as she could, she began thinking of the events prior to the encounter with this trainer, and, fighting back tears, began running a bit faster, her inherernt anger playing a role in the Treecko's speed and stren </Mod Post>

Thomas was glad to see both moves hitting, but as he watched the scene unfold, he got a bit upset. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to use two against her. She seemed quite put off by that. Thomas just wanted it badly. Treecko was adorable, even if this one seemed cranky. And when it began to run off, Thomas looked to Hades, who was already giving chase.
Tom made a mental note to really train Houndour and make him listen better. Maybe it just missed his friend Cerberus. The farmer made a note to talk to Sage about getting the two some more time together. They were best friends after all. "Damnit Hades, you have to learn to listen to my orders!" he stated. The dog just barked and gave chase to the Treecko as she ran.

Run, little Treecko, Run! The farther and farther the grass-type ran, the weaker and weaker it was getting. As the poisoned state sapped more and more of the Treecko's vitality away, its pace became slower and slower. It was convinced that it had gotten away from the trainer and its Pokemon, but she was much closer than she expected.
Not that she could tell, of course. She couldn't begin to see too well, her fatigue taking the best of her. Her breathing labored, the Treecko knelt down for a moment, trying to catch her breath. She knew it'd be futile to keep running, she just didn't have the strength anymore. As she finally collapsed onto the rough, rocky floor, the Treecko turned to see behind her, before her head fell onto the floor.
But there was nothing for her to see. Just starless black. </Mod Post>

The group finally caught up to the ever slowing Treecko. Such a poor thing. Thomas felt bad for what he and his team had done. But it seemed Hades still wasn't done with her. He must of had some aggression problems. With the Houndour growling away, Thomas quickly pulled out two Pokeballs, James and Hades'. "Hades, return, she's had enough. James, you too" Thomas stated. Both Pokemon came back into their Pokeballs and Thomas grabbed out an empty one. He tossed it lightly at the Treecko and sighed lightly. "Sorry for being so cruel" he apologized, hoping to catch her.
After the Ball was thrown out, Thomas released Kumajiro. The large Beartic growl-yawned and looked around. "After this Treecko is, hopefully, caught, I want to go look at those downed Bugs, you up for that Kuma?" Tom asked, and the bear shrug-nodded. So long as he could beat something up, he wouldn't mind.

<Mod Post> The Pokeball fell onto the floor. It nudged once... twice... three times...
BEEP!!
As the Pokeball stopped moving, it let out its signature beep, and the center of it was lit up.
Inside the ball, the Treecko rested up. Now, instead of angry at having lost her mate, she was kinda depressed. Hey, maybe cheering her up might make up for everything else.
[Congratulations, you've caught a Treecko! Its gender is female, has a rash nature, and you can choose either Overgrow, Overgrow or even Overgrow as an Ability!] --- Oh, right. We're still not done. Well, alright. As you keep on moving through the trail of fallen bug Pokemon, you see random, weak bugs laying there, mostly fainted, or quite injured. If I was a Pidgeotto, I'd give my thanks to the Treecko.
But... something didn't seem right. There was a noise in the background, another Bug Pokemon that seemed to be also inspecting the fallen bodies. Closer inspection revealed a solitary Shelmet, sighing at all this, and even giving them as much of a salute it could.

After the Treecko was caught, Thomas smiled. He was happy, Treecko was a common starter back on his Native Hoenn, but he had never had one. Plus, she would be his first Grass type here on the island. It seemed like he was getting more and more diversity as the time progressed. "I'll be seeing you soon, Kiki...Then I can apologize for how Hades acted" he told the Pokeball before it poofed.
Looking to Kuma, the bear let out a low grumble and Thomas nodded in a direction. The two began back to the Bugs where they found a Shelmet, somewhat saluting the others. Kuma let out another low growl and Thomas shot him a glare. "No, Kuma. I've already dealt with an aggressive Houndour today, you can calm down" Thomas ordered. The Pokemon looked to his master, and Thomas glared again. Kuma let out a small sigh and stopped growling. "Good...Now let's go see that Shelmet" he stated.
As they got to the small Bug, Thomas bent down and glanced at it. "Hey little guy...gal? Lost some friends here, eh? Not much protection for you then...I can help you out there, if you'd like to join my team" Thomas explained, pulling out another spare Pokeball.
