STATE YOUR PARTY AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR FIRST POST! Also, if you have any extra items on your character, add them in as well. [/b][/size][/color] [/center] After the spots were filled for the Mission posted by the Technology teacher, each person was sent an email noting the date, time and location they were to meet up. The date was set for the weekend, the time was set for dark (because Sheldon is an ass and wants children to explore a cave with molten lava flowing through it when it's dark out, making the cave dark as well), and the location was set for just outside the steep entrance that went deep under ground.

Speedy took a short sigh, running a hand through his sweat filled pure white hair. Here he was, at the Volcano, yet again. He found this mission by complete mistake. He was in the courtyard and a crowd was joined around the mission board. By a shoving student to see what the hub bub was about Speedy was also knocked into the fray. He was moved around and shoved through the group until he was finally pressed to the front, his face landing onto the board itself. When he finally peeled himself away, he noticed the mission from Sheldon. His least favorite teacher, and probably his least favorite student had signed up. He didn't join because he wanted to impress Sheldon, he wanted to join at a shot for those Fossil Pokemon. As most of the others probably did the same.
And so, here he was. At the designated area waiting for the rest of his team. It didn't take a genius to know that this mission was dangerous. Therefore Speedy brought along all of his more advanced posse of pokemon. Granted they weren't all completely big and strong. But then again, what would you expect from a breeding trainer? Let the pokemon enjoy their evolutions and not rush to evolve them as fast as possible. They will evolve in their own time, and when they do. They'll just be that much more ready for it.

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
The Pokemon: Zeal, Kai, Celeste, Huo, Dobby, and Cerberus Extra Items: 2 Potions, 5 Pokeballs, 8 Ultra Balls
The sky was filled with a brilliant blue in the bright warm air of the mid-morning but at the same time, she felt thick with anticipation as Sage awaited the posting for the new missions. She woke up early in the morning to get first dibs on the good missions of the day and was anxious and excited for this would be her first mission ever. Finally seeing a person posting a paper on the bulletin board, she ran with excitement toward the mission board as she chirped grinning, “Yes! First one here!” Her eyes strolled through the mission announcement in curiosity and then felt a tad bit nervous, “Um in a volcano? Underground? Well, that’s just great. I don’t want to be melted” as she ended the last statement in sarcasm. Still, she basked and loved being challenged no matter what. It was just too tempting. She mused, “I must be crazy but I’ll do it anyway. A TM and two rare candies are too tempting to not sign up,” as she scrambled for a pen from her black backpack and signed up for the seemingly hard-looking mission to be completed. She flashed a smile at her accomplishment of signing first as she glanced at the swarms of pokemon academy students heading toward the mission board. She just hoped she would get good teammates in this mission as she walked back to her dorm pondering what things she should bring and which pokemon that would help her the most.
Now here she was at the entrance of the steep trail leading into the deep underground of the volcano. She had walked through the sky as dark as the moonless night and passing the dim light of the stars. It was fortunate that was prepared bringing two flashlights instead of one just in case out of some strange occurrence that if the flashlight she was using died out. She doubted that would happen though. Instead of bringing all of her fire types in her party, she opted to bring her more experienced pokemon such as Zeal and Kai. She brought Zeal just in case especially that he was her best support pokemon as well as status inducer and status healer. She also brought Kai for Starmie’s fast reaction timing and obedient nature toward her. She even brought some of her younger pokemon so hopefully they’ll get some first-hand experience battling, if possible. Holding her flashlight on one hand as she looked around for anybody, she caught a glimpse of fiery crimson eyes from the distance of the terrain. Was that Speedy? At least she had someone she sort of trusted since he was a friend but she didn’t quite know him well. She felt nervous since she really disliked dark places. It was the absence of light that made her anxious. Nonetheless, she walked up to Speedy giving him a sun bright smile with a hint of nervousness, “Hey there. It’s me Sage. Ready for the mission?” She hoped he recognized her especially that the light was dim and would unfortunately become much dimmer when they would head deeper underground.

Alacer: Golbat (holding Poison Fang). Rasoir: Pawniard. Croyance: Baltoy.
Arcen let out a slow sigh, feeling the air flow out of his lungs, watching it burning out of his mouth. The volcano. He didn't know why he liked it here. It was hot, it was bright, it was... clean, the heat pulsing from the heart of the mountain cleansing the place of any kind of vegetation and fungus, driving it away with its healthy throb of liquid fire. Arcen was relieved that this mission was going to be taking place under the velvety cover of night. At least he didn't have to worry about the heat and light coming from above. Croyance levitated silently, observant of his every move. Though nobody could tell, the small psychic type was greedily taking in the essence of his old home: the volcano. Alacer was perched over head, clinging to the roof of the cave. She was busying herself with unwrapping and wrapping a long, thin cord around one of her fangs, from which a Poison Fang dangled off the end of.
Arcen winced when a flash of light struck his eyes, and held back a scowl when he heard voices nearby. He let out one last long sigh, and closed his eyes. Just a little longer... he thought wistfully. He was waiting several feet inside the entrance of the tunnel. Resigning himself to company, he pushed off the wall he was leaning on to stand up straight. He made a quick clicking noise to Alacer, who made a somewhat clumsy backflip onto the ground, scraping her wings against the overly-small tunnel entrance. He reached over to her and knotted the cord. When she looked up to see the arriving trainers, she appeared to have an extra fang randomly sprouting from the top left corner of her mouth.

(Joy the Chansey, Gully the Wingull, Puffball the Shroomish (Holding Miracle Seed), Diva the Mawhile and Sakura the Scyther)
DJ had received the email from the same teacher that had given him his intro test for this mission. He had been planning to go to the volcano for some time and was glad that this was the spot they chose for the mission, excited to get underway with his first task. Gully, the Wingull he traded his Glameow for a few weeks earlier sat comfortably on his shoulder. He felt it would be good to have a water type at the ready when traversing the lava-filled caverns in case anything sparked up.
He saw the rest of the team at the entrance to the cave, wondering if he was the last to arrive. He hoped there was at least one other person was later than he was so he didn't have to feel bad about holding everyone up, he was odd like that. He smiled, excited to start his work, wondering when the mission to collect the amber would begin.

Party: Moku (Quagsire), Titan (Ferrothorn), Circe (Vulpix), Thrust (Nicada), Hindenburg (Driftloon) and Lance (Heracross)
Tyler also has the items: Soft Sand and Charcoal, not yet attached to anybodyTyler was rather sure he was late as he moved through the chilling night air, which was thankfully being countered by the fact he was climbing the volcanoside. He had to sort out a babysitter for his less mature Pokemon, as well something else being a large distraction. Coralie had seemingly become incredibly distant lately and he felt like he'd gone and screwed something up, though he had no idea what, and was spending a fair amount of his time worrying about what he may or may not have done. This'd prove to be a nice distraction... hopefully.
Everyone else seemed to have arrived already, so he presumed they had been waiting a while and were cross at him too. More people to add to the list. He sure hadn't signed up to help the teacher though, oh no he rather disliked Sheldon; but a shot at living fossil Pokemon was too good to pass up. He just hoped this wasn't where Butthead spent his free time after beating that douchebag Bisharp half to death the last time he went to the volcano.
"Uh, hey everyone! Sorry to keep you all waiting.... are we just about ready to head out?" Tyler asked when he arrived, toying with the straps of his backpack idly: actually bringing it but more filled with food, batteries, and other doo-dads that'd help if they were thrown into a lifethreatening situation deep underground.

With all the students now here, finally, they could, as a group, start their mission. As it was dark out, the inside of the caves would more than likely be dark as well. It would be a good idea, if possible, to have a Fire or Electric type to give off light, so as to be able to see what was going on inside. Yes there would be magma that would give off light, but it wouldn't be everywhere in the cave system. That was, if the group had an sort of intelligence amongst them. Hopefully they would.
With the group now together, some noises could be heard. Soon, a large group of Rapidash's appeared, lighting up the darkness as they ran down the mountains side, away from the cave. The group could go after them, but they were leading far away from the cave system and wouldn't help with the mission. Not to mention there were at least seven visible, meaning there were more, they just weren't able to be seen. The group had two choices, abandon the mission and chase after the large group of horse-like Pokemon, or go into the cave an start the Mission.

As the group entered the cave, they started to descend deep, deep, and deeper. As they did so, it was getting harder and harder to see. Uck! This wouldn't do, not at all. If they were going to find something then they needed some light right? Suddenly up ahead, a raging fire came spewing out of farther into the cave. A small herd of Rapidash were stampeding all over the place. He hugged against the wall. Crying out to the rest of the team. "Get out of the way!" Hopefully the rest of the group would do the same. He took a deep sigh, as the Rapidash finally passed by. "Hmm, I wonder if something startled those Rapidash... they seemed in an awful hurry to get out. Is everyone okay?"
He looked around the group to make sure everyone was okay, it somewhat seemed like everyone is fine, I guess. "Hmm, This darkness is definitely No Bueno. Blackstar, I choose you." He muttered, plucking the Shinx's pokeball out of his pokebelt, and tossing it onto the ground. In a sudden red flash of light Blackstar appeared. Looking at Speedy through the darkness. "Okay Blackstar, if you listen to me I'll bake you some brownies when we get back to the dorm. Deal?" The Blackstar didn't seemed pleased with the compensation. He demanded more. "Uck, You're getting so greedy. Fine, and tonight we'll have some curry. Good enough?" Happy with the deal he hopped around waiting for the trainer to ask of him as he will.
"Blackstar, Spark. Ahh That's so much better, my eyes were starting to hurt." As the trainer asked the pokemon succeeded without fail, creating a bright static pulse throughout his body causing him to be a pokemon flashlight. "All Better, Right Guys? And Gals." He said not wanting to forget Sage in the equation.

About a minute or two after greeting her friend Speedy, she heard footsteps coming closer and closer to their location in front of the entrance leading to the underground of the hot volcano. She hoped it was a girl since she hardly interacted with any girls in the pokemon academy. Even her best friends back home were guys but that was sort of a given since they provided her with a home and eventually bonded with each other somehow. That could be the reason she felt more comfortable with guys around since she lived with guys and worked with them twenty-four seven. It would be nice to talk to more girls in the academy. But there was her other best friend, the adorable and loyal Rin though she hasn’t seen her for a long while. She did feel hurt when her ex-boyfriend moved in with Rin after they broke up. She felt betrayed by that. Maybe it was understandable since her ex-boyfriend needed a place to stay and wanted to get away from her. Still, she still considered Rin her close friend. It wasn’t her fault that Laz moved in with her.
As she listened to the footsteps, the steps sounded deeper not lighter. She had a disappointed feeling that it wasn’t a girl like she had wanted the person to be. Still, she held her breath just in case her intuition was somehow wrong. She hesitantly turned back toward the direction of the figure coming toward their location and shined the flashlight downward so she wouldn’t hurt the person’s eyes but she’ll still be able to see how the person looks like. Shucks. It was guy. He had raven-colored hair, unusual light purple eyes, was more than a little taller than her, and well seemed moody and not really the inviting type of person. Wait. Oh yeah, she did meet him in the forest a long while ago in the pokemon academy. She almost didn’t recognize him. What gave it away was the Golbat. She remembered Alacer was she was a mere Zubat. What was the trainer’s name again? His name started with an “A” right? And like a lightbulb, she perked up in realization and greeted the other trainer, “Hi there Arcen! Remember me? It’s Sage!” as she gave a foxy smile. He wasn’t a girl but he seemed like an interesting character. She just hoped she’ll be able to work with him so they’ll be able to complete the mission to find the amber.
After about five minutes or so, Sage began scrunch her face in irritation in waiting for the rest of her teammates to arrive to begin the mission already. She really wasn’t the patient type of person. Instead of beginning to pace around in her restlessness, she decided to walk a bit closer to the entrance of the volcanic cave and observe if she could see any impending danger from her line of view and anything else interesting in there. Unfortunately, she sighed in not seeing something interesting—yet. But still, she realized that it was dimmer than before where she was standing at the moment. At least she brought her handy flashlight with her but she was worried that maybe her flashlight might not last for the whole mission. Maybe at least someone in their mission had extra batteries just in case her flashlight ran out and died. Also, a hardly seeable mission would also mean that there were potential cuts and bruises. It was a good thing she brought her first aid kit on this mission too. It doesn’t hurt to be too careful at times. It was sort of amusing remembering when she first started out at the pokemon academy since she used to be a careless and lazy but her starter pokemon was actually the one who pushed her to work to her full potential and train hard no matter what. Only down side was that she somehow inherited his impatience.
Another five or so passed by and Sage began fiddling with one of her pokemon’s poke ball since she had nothing better to do especially that her friend Speedy and Arcen seemed very focused at the task at hand. She sighed in her boredom but then, she heard footsteps again. She crossed her fingers in the hope that this next person was a girl but once again, she was wrong. It was shame that she was the first one to sign up for the mission because by being the first person, she didn’t exactly know the people who signed up for the mission. The email that was sent to her and the other mission participants were only sent the date, time, and location of the mission. Oh well. Once again, the person who joined them was another guy. He had ocean blue eyes, dark brown colored hair, and had a cute baby face. He seemed like an easy-going and agreeable person to get along with and hopefully also, to work with in this mission. She gave the new member of the mission and smiled warmly, “Hi there, I’m Sage,” and pointed to the other members, “And that’s Speedy and Arcen over there.” Then about a minute or so after she had introduced him to the other guys, she spotted another guy arriving to their location. When he came closer, she had a better view of him and somehow recognized him. He had those familiar brown eyes and that baby face she had seen before. She greeted him, “Are you Tyler? Remember me Sage? And yeah, I think we’re ready to be off” as she began walking inside the dark cave with her flashlight in hand guiding her view for now.
She hesitantly began walking into the dark cave leading to the underground of the hot volcano. Her flashlight could only provide so much light, but it wouldn’t be enough sooner or later. She needed to find something that could provide a constant light and view of the cave. Did any of her pokemon have that ability to provide some light for her see inside the cave? Before she could figure out what pokemon she could use, she heard a stampede of rapidashes charging toward their direction. Her adrenaline and heartbeat began pumping faster and faster as she quickly moved close to the side of the cave’s wall to prevent herself from being trampled by the powerful stampede of horse-like pokemon. She could faintly hear her friend Speedy yelling for everyone to move to the side and she hoped everyone else made it safely to the side of the walls because if not, that would spell trouble and injury only in the beginning of the mission. After all the powerful rapidashes exited out of the cave, she heard Speedy ask if everyone was alright and she was out of breath from the adrenaline but responded, “Barely but yeah just fine.”
She was going to continue moving but what stopped her was when Speedy released his Shinx apparently named Blackstar. She wondered why he brought that specific out but then it hit her, it was to provide light in this very dark place. That was a smart move of Speedy. But she giggled when she heard him negotiating with the little shinx to help him out by of all things, cooking the shinx some curry. Well every pokemon had their own personality but still, that shinx seemed to be very demanding for a small pokemon. She was glad that the only pokemon who was demanding was her numel, Amor who loved eating. But at least, she was only demanding about pokemon foods. If her numel wanted curry, she probably would be poisoned since Sage wasn’t really the best of cooks. Sage was thankful that Speedy had his shinx use spark. She was getting nervous not really being able to see much of the surroundings since pokemon might be able to creep somewhere and she probably wouldn’t expect it. Once the shinx used charge, she had to rub her eyes from the sudden bright light but after all, having bright light was better than darkness that creped her out. He asked if everything was better and even emphasized the “gals” part though he didn’t really to but saying that was nice. She smiled at Speedy, “Yup, better than seeing hardly anything.” She looked at the Shinx and petted the shinx thanking the pokemon, “Good job Blackstar.”

Arcen winced. How did Sage see him? He thought he'd been hiding fairly well along the wall of the cave. Well, there was nothing for it. He smiled pleasantly at her, "No, I remember you. And yes, here's Alacer. She's grown." He faced his bat and began to fondly play with one of Alacer's pointy, cat-like ears.
She crooned a strange clicking noise, but stopped suddenly and stood stock still for a moment before the stampeding could be heard. She swooped Arcen up in her wings and flung herself against the wall, holding him against the rocky face, nearly flat, as the Rapidash stormed out of the tunnels. Arcen felt the wind rushing past him, carrying the heat of the fire pokemon, and the scent of fire.
When the Shinx began to shine, Arcen hissed through his teeth as the light glared against his eyes. Alacer shrieked softly, throwing a wing up to shield her own eyes. Through gritted teeth, he said, "Sorry... You caught me by surprise. I've been waiting here for a good hour or so... It's going to take a moment for my eyes to adjust." Arcen slowly lowered his hands as the black pupils receded into the violet shade of his irises. Then he began to move forward again, more carefully then before, with Alacer still close behind him.
