It was a nice, cool afternoon. A bit breezy but just right. Though being raised in Lavaridge, Rai wasnt exactly used to cold weather, even he was pretty fine. The gentle rolling breeze would stroll across the island, relaxing everyone who inhaled the crisp fresh air. Today wasnt too good for training, seeing as how there was no heat to really put a strain on the muscles. However the stadium was empty and was in need of use. Not to mention, training is training. Training doesnt need to be in the heat for it to be efficient.
Upon entering the stadium Rai would inhale the crisp air of the endless breeze. With his thin denim jacket would flutter gently only to rest for moments before starting up again. His white tee shirt, that matched his fedora hat would be revealed, as his mustard skinny jeans & black chucks completed his outfit.
"Come on out!" Rai released Rachel. She would stand firm and look side to side. "Flaaff..." She questioned where the people were. "No ones here. Just us Rachel." He looked around as well. The new stadium was pretty neat. It had nice chairs & seating arrangements, perfect for a prestigious place like PA. "Hopefully Adriel got my letter to meet up and train." Rai added on, looking around.

It wouldn't be for another ten or fifteen minutes, but Adriel would finally arrive, crouching over to catch her breath. Apparently she ran here "...s-sorry I'm late...lost track...of time." Once she recovered, she let out a sigh then nodded "Oh, by the way! Check it out!" Grabbing one of her Poke Balls, she sent out her Victreebel, who she had evolved earlier that morning "I finally got my hands on a Leaf Stone!"

Hearing heavy pants, Rai turned around with a more excited expression. "Huh?" He asked, seeing the red haired student appear. As she caught her breath, Rai heard her reasoning despite the heavy panting getting in the way of translation. With it all setting in, he blinked slowly. After seconds passed, he would burst into laughter. "Its fine Adriel, I just got here not too long ago as well." He reassured her.
Being shown the leaf stone, Rai would gasp with joy for his friend. "Awesome!" He complimented her finding a stone to evolve her pokemon. Knowing how it long it had remained unevolved, Rai was more than delighted for his pal. It had also been some time since their last meet as opponents at the tournament. "How's it been going?" Rai would ask her about her career as a trainer so far. Mean while, the lesbian flaaffy would blush at the sight of the cute girl & walk over to her. Hugging her waist, the flaaffy would smile.

Adriel blinked as the Flaaffy wandered up to her and hugged her, which left her unable to help but ask "...was she always this affectionate?" She didn't mind, naturally, and smiled back to the Electric-type. It just seemed odd, since she never really did this before...at least, not as far as she could remember. Either way, she'd wait for a response then nod. "Anyways, what say we get this started? I already know who I'm starting with." And with that, she grabbed a Poke Ball and send out her Shieldon "This is Wall. She's the newest member of my team!" The Shieldon nodded quietly as she was introduced, then got ready for battle. From there, Adriel waited for two things; to see what Raize would send out...and whether or not this Flaaffy was ever going to let go.

"...Rachel?" Rai questioned. The electric type sheep had never seen such a beauty before. Letting go, the sheep would step back and wink at Adriel. "Flaaff." It returned to Rai's side. "I dont think Adriel likes pokemon Rachel." Rai chuckled a bit. "Nice to meet you Wall." Rai would wink playfully, as he launched a gracious smile. "Rachel, step aside. I think Fran would be best for this." Rai nodded with his suggestion. "Show your stuff Fran!" Rai announced the budew's usage. "Take the center stage." He flung out the pokeball releasing her. "Budew!" Fran would sing, opening her eyes from her nap. "Look sharp." Rai noted, as she got into proper poke position. "You first Adriel!" Rai smiled once more at his opponent.

Adriel smiled at the small Grass-type that emerged. She saw a lot of those at her mother's breeding center, so she knew them well. Granted, she had never seen them battle, so she wasn't quite sure what to expect...aside from common grass moves like Razor Leaf and possibly Giga Drain. But at the very least, she knew she wouldn't have to worry about poison attacks, which was a plus...being poisoned was never a good thing.
When given the go-ahead, she nodded, then called out to her Shieldon. Alright then! Let's get this started! Start off with Iron Defense, then use Tackle!" First, the Shieldon hunkered down for a moment, her body shining brightly for but a moment as it became harder, allow her to take physical hits better. Then she charged toward the Budew, attempting to land a body blow on the Grass/Poison-type. Adriel watched quietly, waiting to see whether or not the attack landed.

"Its so cute." Rai blushed at the shieldon's cuteness. Despite not being the best looking pokemon around, Rai would still find it oddly adorable. With increasing its defense and using a charging tackle attack, Rai would have to do something quickly. "Use mega drain to dodge." He told the budew. Fran would grow a dark green vine, and swing it a bit far from her and shieldon, using it to pull her out of the way. "Bud!" Fran cried to him, notifying him of the mission being complete. "Good job!" He said, watching the steel type dart past where the budew was standing awkwardly. With the next command Fran would smile and get ready to launch the attack. "Stun spore!" Rai called to his pokemon. Opening the bud on its head, a yellow powder would spread in shieldon's way. This would hopefully stun him.

Adriel was caught slightly off guard by the defensive use of Mega Drain, but she was equally impressed by it. Additionally, her Shieldon was already under the effects the stun spore, as she didn't think to hold her breath until it was too late. But, she was far from out of this battle. Her muscles were stiff, and even the slightest move was hard, but neither she nor Adriel were backing down just yet "Fine...if we can't get close, we'll strike from a distance! Use Ancient Power!"
Should her status abnormality allow her, the Shieldon's body glowed brightly, as a large orb of energy suddenly erupted from the ground. From there, the Shieldon unleashed a mystic energy, which propelled the orb toward the Budew. Either way all Adriel could do was hope that the attack would land, assuming her Pokemon was even able to pull it off in the first place.

"Fran, listen up!" Rai called out to her. The budew would freeze and stare at the attack coming straight for her. "Dew.." Fran gazed at it, not realizing Rai's calling out to her. It was a move she hadnt seen yet that had somehow caught the pokemon's attention. "Fran, pay attention!" Rai told her with a firm tone. Hearing the light annoyance in Rai's tone of voice, Fran would shake her head left to right and take another glance. "Dew!" She would panic. "Nice of you to joiun us. Use mega drain as a coil to soften the blow." Rai called out to her once again.
"Budew!" Fran jumped, resuming panic and rapidly fired a mega drain into the air. Suddenly the infant sized pokemon would swing herself in a rapid circle. With he spinning, the large dark green vine would spiral around and pile up. "Dew." Fran took a huff of air. This defensive stuff wasnt really that easy. With it piling onto itself as the orb came into point blank range, the vines would seem to have formed a shield that would probably stop the attack if it came out to be stronger than planned. The sphere crashed against the shield, tearing the vine apart & causing it to discenergrate into mid-air.
Burning through and pushing Fran back, the ball would burst. Fortunately, the plan worked pretty well and Fran was not as harmed as expected. "Budew!" She cried with joy. Instantly, without instruction, Fran fired a whole new mega drain vine towards the shieldon.

Adriel watched as the Budew once again defended itself from her attack...and, as impressive as its skills were, it was starting to get a little annoying. However, Adriel had the perfect remedy in mind for this. "Alright Wall...attack with Taunt!" The Shieldon nodded, then began shouting at the Budew in its own Poke-language. This would send the Budew into a rage and prevent it from doing anything other than attacking for the next five turns.
With a nod of approval, Adriel then called out to Raize "Your Budew's defenses were impressive, but let's see how well she does without them!" She then turned to her Shieldon "Wall, use Iron Head!" The Shieldon smirked...this was more her style. The large plate on her head began to glow with a bright silver shine, and she immediately charged head-first toward the Budew. Adriel watched on, waiting to see if the attack landed...just because the Budew couldn't use a move to defend herself didn't mean she couldn't simply dodge.

"Haha. We workked for hours on it, so it hadx to be." Rai chukled with his playful joke. "But thanks for making this harder." His laughter deceased. "Now Fran, watch out for the attack!" Raize called out. "Bu--" Fran was cut off by the shieldon. "Dew!" She cried aloud, being knocked back onto her side. "Budew..." She got up weakly. "You okay?" Rai asked the little grass type. "Budew!" Fran exclaimed at him, thinking he was trying to call her weak. "Good, now use stun spore!" Rai called out. Fran's bud ontop of her head would open and slowly spray a yellow powder across the field. Hopefully this would slow wall down a bit, like before.

As it turned out, the Shieldon hadn't been paralyzed by the first cloud of stun spores. She was just really slow. This time, however, it was different. Adriel actually saw her as she breathed in the spores, and her Shieldon was actually paralyzed this time
(horrible handwave is horrible XD)
Adriel watched on, then nodded "Alright Wall, let's try using Take Down!" The Shieldon's stiff muscles made it hard to move. If she were able to force herself, however, she'd charge toward the Budew, with a reckless ramming attack..if now, she'd be stuck there, unable to move.
[dice=2] "If it lands on 1, Shieldon is able to attack. If it lands on 2, she is fully paralyzed and nothing happens."
