The site, having seen spike in activity and a steady stream of new users, is growing. We are now at the point where certain students of PA are reaching the Party limit of 6 Pokemon. The question at hand: where will their surplus Pokemon go after being caught?
Currently, there are two options on the table:
Right now, I've noticed that Pokemon Collections are being posted in people's Character Plotting pages. Personally, I feel that the Plot Pages should be for human character only, and that a Pokemon Collection system needs to be installed for the Pokemon. If this idea isn't shared by the members of the site, then I have no qualms with placing my Collection in my Plot Page as well.
This thread has been created for members to give ideas, suggestions, and opinions. If you want to go with an above mentioned solution (or even tweak one) then post it here. If you have a completely new idea, post it here too. After discussion, the head admin, mods, and confidants will try to implement something that the site will find beneficial.

I like the ranch idea as it stays true to the show/manga, and it would give people a chance to interact with pokemon outside of battles, and catching. The kinks would probably be how to go about this, and we could have it so that if you want to take one back you could go to a machine, and then just do it like they do in the show, or physically go there, and do it. Also it was shown that pokemon do get stronger in their time away so we should also include that as well.

What about both? Could have them on a ranch for RPing, and have the computer as a sub board to keep track of them all.

Ooooh I like Lily's idea!
I really, really like the ranch idea, so that we can RP with our pokemon not on our teams. Also, this would make an excellent setting for the breeding club.
But the thing I worry about having the ranch is that I like organization and yeah... a box is much more organized... Which is why I like Lily's idea.
As for how to keep track of it... We could have a thread specifically for exchanging a pokemon currently on the team for one on the ranch. Whenever someone wanted to switch one, or more, out, they can go to that thread and write a simple reply. For example: "Slate (Rhyhorn) switched out for Spark (Shinx)" and a little RP note if they wanted to.

I do like the idea of using both systems But the thing is with the ranch and liquid time (and people being in so many threads at once) it would get really confusing in trying to remember when people switched as it relates to when they entered This, This, and That Thread. What if we either: a) eliminated liquid time :x b) required a character to state their team each time they entered a thread c) only opened the Party Shift Station once a week? I'm just throwing out ideas. More suggestions, please guys.

My idea was to make the ranch optional for switching and more for RPing with the stored pokemon, or just a place to go. Also good for the breeders, like Rix said. Then there's the computer section that allows ppl to just make the exchange. If they want to actually RP it out, they can, but it's not mandatory.
I'd vote the second option. Just list who you have at the start so ppl know and there's no mix up.

For a site like this, not having Liquid time rarely works out well, and limiting how many times they can edit their teams seems a tad unfair. As long as people don't go overboard with the number of threads they enter with a specific character, it ought to be fine. If, perchance, they edit their teams right after/during a specific thread, then yeah, have them make a note in their posts that informs others that their team in that thread is different from the one listed on their page. Otherwise, I don't see a need for them to have to list their entire teams with each new thread. If it ends up becoming too much of an issue, then I suggest enforcing option "b", but other than that, I don't see a need to do anything major

Meh, I'm not gonna post a Box page. My plot page is plenty space.
Bulleted list of reasons: -Another! thread that we need to keep an eye on -A waste of board space and basically another layer of 'bureaucracy' to deal with.
As for the changing of teams....just make it a requirement to include a 'full team' list in the BEGINING of any thread someone makes/joins.

I like the idea of making it a requirement to put the names of all six pokemon on the thread at the time of joining, or making, the thread.
I don't think it would be a big problem to keep up with the Box page... And I would actually enjoy it... But then again, I don't have like six characters xD
And yeah... just a note I'm kinda holding off Breeding Club meetings until I know if we have a ranch that we can go to or not

Even going with Keara's idea of just using the plot pages still, there's no reason to not have the ranch. It's a place to RP and great for the breeders.

I would not be a big fan of having to state my team at the start of every thread... moreso only if you actually change the team have to do it.
A ranch/breeding area would be nice to RP, if a bit... awkward and all.... youknow.... stuff goes on there when we look away @__@

I think if you just changed your team in your sig it'd work, too. Since that's what we've been doing, anyway.

Hm, but it can't really be mandatory for everyone; otherwise everyone has to have their team and their sig and only certain sexy and awesome people like us want to have Sig-teams ^__^

The problem with sigs is that they don't stay what they were when you stared a thread. Therefore if you have pikachu, pidgy, and rattata, in one thread, then switch in a later thread it could be forgotten, or someone new joining won't know what you had in that thread.

True. I don't mind sticking my team into my posts, anyway. There's enough free reign with it that you can make it pretty. *shrugs*

1) State Pokemon party at the beginning of every thread. 2) Ranch for RP purposes.
I still can't tell if people want boxes to keep their collections or not. Would you guys like boxes or are you content with keeping Pokemon in your character plot pages/sigs/wherever you want them?

I'll vote Boxes as well. But hey, I don't have a full team yet so it doesn't matter a lot to me.

I wouldn't mind boxes, too. Just gives me more room to develop my Pokemon's characters, too. =) As long as we get the ranch and stuff too.

I think the Ranch is good to go already, we're just voting for the want of the box system. There's really no reason not to have the ranch XD

Make the Box's optional and you won't hear me complain.
