Naoko took her first steps into the brilliantly white room. Her first Pokemon on her new journey as she liked to think of it. Admittedly the enclosed space put her on edge. It reminded her of the anxiety before a gym battle, a mixture of concern and utter unrestrained excitement. The sore dryness of throat, the pounding in her chest, and she still had yet to get to the main event.
Naoko came to a full stop, stiff as a board as if she had just been put on the biggest stage in the world and forgot why. Her mind was swirling with what her options might be and what strategy to use while her heart was beating hard rock melodies just to keep up. It was now or never.
"Na-aoko... here!"

The black haired was leaning next to the large wooden cabinet that held a variety of Pokeballs. He seemed in a rather foul mood. His blood shot eyes glanced to the girl and he growled. "Stop your whimpering! You're late," he snapped. The girl wasn't late, but to the man she was. He grabbed the tray of Pokeballs that had been resting on the table next to him and strode to the exit of the room. "Follow me now!" he ordered as he walked out to a large field. The large grassland was the shape and size of a Pokemon battle field. He held out the tray. "Pick one then we'll begin.
((The Pokemon she shall get will be a Pichu, and if you want a visual reference for your grouchy tester, he's the guy in the shades on the site banner)) [/blockquote]

It wasn't what she had expected, but regardless her mind was still on full steam, his harsh words didn't seem to faze her anymore than the whole action seemed to. She took her time choosing, not that her hand would've responded right away anyways.
Finally settling her mind on the furthest away from her in the batch, Naoko rushed over to the opposite end of the field from the instructor. Just standing on the battle field outside in the open air calmed her down. She was pumped and ready to see it though, now it was just time to see what she had to work with...
"Pokemon out!"
Her anxiety rushed back fast hitting her like a bulldozer. Standing in front of her was an adorable little Pichu. She wanted to hug it and curse all at once. She loved cute ones and little guy had cute in spades. It looked more interested in smiling in as many cute expressions as possible than what was going on around it. But of course she would get set with a Pokemon whose own electricity could make it dizzy.
Well, maybe it wasn't so bad. A Pichu could still pack a punch needless to say. She could turn it around nicely really, it all depended on her opponent now. What would he be using?

The man grabbed a Pokeball without hesitation and threw it out to the field. A Kirlia took the field. "The battle will now begin," he stated. "Kirlia, use Imprison." Kirlia rushed toward the Pichu in an attempt to seal it away. Once sealed it wouldn't be able to move.
((You have access to any moves the Pokemon can naturally learn. That means no TM moves. Sorry this post is so short, but I want to keep everything quick-- despite the fact that I had to go for a bit earlier.)) [/blockquote]

So it was a Kirlia then? It certainly left her with little options with her Pichu but the options were there.
"Pichu! You're faster, get Kirlia with your sweet kiss!"
The Pichu turned toward the incoming Kirlia and broke into a high-speed run at an impressive pace in an attempt to place the dizzying kiss. With any luck it would make contact and grant them at least some free time.

The Kirlia raised the partially formed shield to protect itself against the Pichu's kiss. He then jumped back toward the black haired man. "Use confusion!" he ordered as the Psychic Pokemon spun and began to glow a soft pink.

"Ghrrr... Pichu! hit it quick with Thunder wave now and prepare a Nasty plot!"
Naoko's Pichu stopped short and aimed a pulse of electricity at the preoccupied Kirlia. It then pulled back further and started to concentrate.
Naoko started tensing up bit by bit. It had to hit first... as long as it hit.

((Since you didn't state whether or not the Confusion hit your Pokemon, it will be an auto hit.))
The man dressed in black grinned as Electricity rained down on his Pokemon. "Teleport," he ordered calmly. Once the dust cleared away, the Kirlia that was on the other side of the field was now behind the Pichu. "You're Pichu is looking a little lost rookie."

Naoko let off a long sigh. Her Pichu was still bewildered by the change of pace; this fight wasn't going well or anywhere. Pichu had only one attack to work with, and it wouldn't amount in even a slight buzz on the target.
The girl simply raised her hand and held up the pokeball.
"That's it, I give. Pichu return!" the ball shot a thin beam towards the Pichu as it looked around startled, and vanished into the ball.
"I can tell when I've lost, no need to put the little one through any more." She gave a small bow and waited for the judgement.

Yin frowned. "Black Dorm." That was all he uttered as he walked out of the room. "You'll be keeping that Pichu," he growled. People who forfeited their matches didn't get a choice of which Pokemon they would get. At least, in Yin's mind.
