Adriel walked quietly up to the door the counselor's office, hesitating for a moment. She knew why she was here, but she was still reluctant. She was here in hopes of finding a way to overcome her fear of birds. By now, most of the teachers knew about it, and her fears have long since reached the point of interfering with her education here. Still, even though it was becoming increasingly obvious, there was still a part of her that didn't like the idea of admitting it. No one likes to admit being scared of something. But, it had to be done. As such, she reached a hand up, and knocked lightly on the door to see if he was in.

Kai was currently irritated. Yes, he was irritated. The reason being was because of all the paperwork that Tao had thrust upon him. He was a counselor! Were counselors really supposed to have this much paperwork? Stifling a yawn, the raven haired young man rubbed the back of his head, his hair steadily becoming messy as he did so. Yuu, his sister's and now apparently his, Glaceon was curled up at the side of his desk. The Glaceon's ears were twitching but his almond shaped eyes were closed in a deep slumber. Beside him was Kai's beloved Ninetails, Hime, who seemed to be pacing back and forth in the office as though wanting to do something. Kai reached over absentmindedly to pat his Ninetails on the head as he tapped his pen on the desk, staring at the documents before him.
Kai's counseling office was a rather comfortable looking place. It was a much larger office than those of the teachers considering the fact that it had a glass oval shaped table on the side with a cushiony loveseat on opposite sides of the table. Upon the glass surface was a tea pot and a tea cup, the cup of tea was still steaming as though it was freshly poured. Kai even had a march larger sofa over a hearth rug in front of the fireplace that was located in his office. It seemed more of the type of sofa one could comfortably lie on and get counseled if they felt like it. Next to this was a cushiony armchair. The color of the office's walls were set a rather pale blue, which Kai didn't really enjoy looking at, however it came with the territory. It wasn't as if he picked out the color of the office.
Stretching the young staff member then heard a knock on the door. Hime rose her elegant head, her almond shaped eyes peering curiously at the oak door as her beautiful tails gently swayed from side to side. "Mm...? Probably a student, Hime." Kai told the Ninetails as he stifled another yawn. "Come in." Kai called out to signal for the student or whoever was on the other side of the door to enter if they wished. Counseling students was not as bad as dealing with massive amounts of paperwork that made no sense at all. He was beginning to wonder whether Tao forced the paperwork upon him at will. Taking the stack, Kai placed the annoying documents into a random drawer before awaiting the arrival of his 'client'.

Adriel let out a sigh as she heard a voice giving her the green light to enter the room. Opening the door, she entered the room, looking around a bit. "...nice room..." she quietly muttered to herself, then looked over to Kai. There was something that seemed vaguely familiar about him, but she couldn't quite place it. Either she pushed that to the back of her mind for now...maybe she'll ask later. Instead, she decided to focus on the task at hand "Hello, sir...I'm Adriel Sorano...and...I was hoping you'd be able to help me out with a problem of mine...." Even now, she was finding herself deeply reluctant to say it out loud.

Kai peered over at the girl before him, observing her curiously with his usual penetrating gaze. He linked his fingers together and pressed them against his lips while she spoke to him. As she introduced herself as Adriel Sorano and stated, in a reluctant way, that she had a problem and needed help, a small smile formed on Kai's lips. He then gave a breif applause for her as Hime stood from beside her trainer and walked round the desk. "Congratulations. You got it pass step one of admitting to having a problem." said Kai as he too, stood from his desk and walked around it, leaning against it instead. Hime had appeared behind Adriel as the Ninetails nudged gently for Adriel to sit down in the plush loveseat before the glass table and pot of tea.
"Allow me to introduce myself," Kai gave a formal bow towards Adriel. "I'm Kai. Pleasure to meet you Miss Sorano." He then walked from leaning against his desk and sat on the loveseat across from Adriel as he reached for the tea cup that was already filled with tea to take a sip from it. "Please make yourself at home Miss Sorano," Kai told Adriel as he motioned towards the tea pot. "Before we get started...I'm sorry but...There is a very important cake in the fridge that must be eaten." he stated in a polite manner as though cakes were a must while on a counseling session. Hime the Ninetails sat beside the loveseat, awaiting for her trainer to begin.
Kai stood from his chair, setting the china back down with a chinking noise before he walked towards the refridgerator and pulled out a lovely strawberry shortcake. He then placed said cake onto the table and cute two slices of it, placing it on another expensive looking plate that he seemed to have pulled from nowhere. As Kai placed a cake slice onto one plate and poured a cup of tea, he placed it on a tray and pushed it gently towards Adriel. He then pushed another tray which were lined with sugar cubes, cream and eating utensils towards Adriel before leaning back in his seat.
"Enjoy." he said simply, smiling politely at Adriel as he tilted his head to the side. "Would you care on elaborating on your problem, Miss Sorano?" Kai seemed rather relaxed as he leaned towards her, awaiting her answer.

She smiled awkwardly at the applause, but managed to feel a little better about it upon hearing the words that had followed it. It was true...despite how obvious it was, she had, for the longest time, been extremely reluctant to admit that she had any problems. The only person she had told so far was Kaera, and even then, it was only due to a slip of the tongue. She made an attempt to deny it, but that only served to make it even more obvious.
She sat down, letting out a soft sigh. she raised an eyebrow when he mentioned a cake, wondering if that was some sort of counseling metaphor. Nope. It was an actual cake. Not that she was complaining...especially when he offered her a slice. Her personal favortie was chocolate, though strawberry shortcake came to a very close second. And, while she wasn't a huge fan of tea, she liked it enough that she didn't mind drinking it if there was nothing else. Of course, she wasn't going to be rude and ask if there was anything else.
Then came million-dollar question. Adriel sighed...deep down, she had secretly hoped to leave it at "I have a problem", even though that would make no sense and more or less defeat the purpose of coming here. She took a bite of the cake to stall, briefly lighting up when she noticed how good it was, then letting out a sigh as she finally spoke "...well...you see...I...I'm terrified of bird Pokemon. I have been since I was ten. Everytime I see one, I freeze up...it get hard to breathe, and I want to get as far away as I want, but my legs just seem to stop working. All I can do is curl up and hope it's gone when I look back up. I thought that I'd be able to force myself to face my fears by coming here...but that hasn't exactly gone well for me..."

Kai sipped at his tea as he listened to Adriel begin to stumble upon her words before she finally was able to tell him the reason why she had come to the counselor's office in the first place. He peered over the rim of his cup as she told him about her fear of bird Pokemon. Raising an eyebrow, Kai placed the china back onto the glass table as she finished her explaination, looking rather uneasy about the entire thing. A fear of bird Pokemon eh? That wasn't something one would usually come across during the first time at the job. However, people had phobias, some worse than others. From Kai's analyzation, Adriel's phobia of bird Pokemon was rather extreme. Taking a bite of cake, he chewed thoughtfully. Though, of course a phobia didn't just randomly come to a person, something must have triggered this outcome.
"A fear of bird Pokemon you say?" a small smile formed on Kai's lips as he peered over at Adriel. "That may come to be a problem in our Pokemon World." he said lightheartedly with a chuckle. Glancing at her, Kai stretched his arms over his head, scratching at Hime's ears while the Ninetails let out a contented sigh. "Let's see...Before age ten, you were perfectly fine with bird Pokemon?" the young counselor inquired. "There was no fear of them whatsoever back then?" Kai's mind stayed sharp, having to analyze the words that would soon be Adriel's answer. As he asked Adriel these questions in a casual manner, it seemed as though the two were discussing the weather outside rather than an issue that needed to be resolved.
Wanting to test just how afraid Adriel was of bird Pokemon, Kai glanced over at Yuu, his Glaceon and motioned for the ice Pokemon to come towards him. The Glaceon rose from his comfortable position from his would-be nap and let out a rather wide yawn. His large almond shaped eyes met his master's as Kai jerked his head. "Alright Miss Sorano. Let's test to see how high your level of fear towards these bird Pokemon are." Tucking a strand of hair behind his ear, Kai motioned for Yuu. "Sculpt me something beautiful, Yuu." he told the Pokemon in a rather nonchalant tone. Leaning over at Adriel he pointed at Yuu. "Yuu, my Glaceon, he's a talented ice sculptist." nodded the counselor. "You should watch him."
The Glaceon had already let out his Ice Beam, as a beautiful array of ice shot from Yuu's mouth, he began to strengthen his Ice Beam and lower his Ice Beam, moving around here and there as he began to sculpt something. After several minutes, a beautiful glimmering ice statue of a Pidgeot stood in view. The Pidgeot ice sculpture was as tall and large as a real Pidgeot, the wings spread wide with a feirce look in its eye. Rubbing his chin, Kai had to admit that if it were colored rather than ice, it would look exactly like a real Pidgeot. He supposed that Yuu really was getting better at his scultping skills. Kai glanced over at Adriel for her reaction. He wondered whether her fear stretched as far as seeing not the real thing, but an almost exact replica of it such as a statue and it still struck fear within her.

When Kai went on to ask if she didn't have the fear before the age of ten, she nodded quietly "Yeah...before I was ten I was perfectly fine around birds...then...something happened...and since then, I've been terrified of them." It was clear that she wasn't entirely comfortable speaking about the incident that caused her fear...and yet, deep down, she knew she was probably going to have to elaborate, now that she had brought it up. Of course, she didn't plan to unless he specifically asked. Instead, she took another bite of cake...a small comfort in this increasingly awkward moment.
As the Glaceon began her sculpture, she blinked, wondering just what it was he was making. She was momentarily mesmerized by the grace and beauty of the Ice-type and her attack, so she didn't initially realize what it was he was using the Ice Beam for. Once the ice sculpture was done, she froze the moment she saw it, though only for a moment. She forced herself to look away, her entire body trembling. In fact, the only reason she wasn't having an epic freakout was because she was able to quickly realize that it wasn't a real Pidgeot...though, it still have a pretty strong effect on her "D-d-did he h-have to make so...so r-realistic?..."
