Alright, as everyone knows, we are not allowed to catch Fully evolved pokemon because of their huge, and when I mean huge I mean huge, difference in power to their past Stages.
The reason why we can't capture them is because we were all relatively new players 3 months ago and absolutely none of us were capable of even capturing 1st Stage None FE's.
So yeah, this thread is more or less for discussing if players can be capable of capturing Fully Evolved pokemon.

I think that if you encounter a fully evolved Pokemon, you should have the option to catch it unless the mod states that it is non-catchable for what ever reason he/she may have. If you can beat it, then you can catch it. As long as you aren't being handed fully evolved Pokemon left and right and they aren't incredibly easy for you to knock out and catch.

I wasn't aware we can even capture middle-staged Pokemon yet, so FE'd Pokemon seems like we're pushing it. I don't agree that FE'd should be seen as twice/three times stronger than their past stages (some Pokemon are fully evolved after one stage, after all), they're stronger yeah but let's not go crazy.
Fully evolved Pokemon on a 3 stage line, we shouldn't be able to catch IMO. Fully evolved on a two stage and second stages, perhaps... but just walking up to and catching a Walrien and such seems a tad unrealistic. Most fully evolved Pokemon are at their peak/seen as the adult/parents of their world, after all =P

An easy way to go about this would be to allow them to capture a pokemon equal to their highest evolution. Like Solo's highest evolution is Kakuna which is a first stage, so he would only be able to capture up to 1st stage pokemon..

For the most part, I agree with Tyler. A two-stage fully evolved Pokemon, as a whole, isn't as powerful as, say, a Charizard or an Alakazam, so I can logically see someone being able to catch one if they're careful/lucky enough. As for three-stage evolutions...I actually kinda like Solo's idea. At the same time, Aph makes a fairly good point. Unless a mod plans on making it uncapturable for plot purposes, then why go out of our way to say "You can't catch this!"? Either they have strong enough Pokemon, or they get curb-stomped and laughed at for being dumb enough to challenge an opponent who is clearly much stronger than they are.

If your skilled enough, then you should be able to. You can catch FE (only things that evolve once, and FE Bugs, but still FE *to my knowledge at least*). If you're good enough to get it, you should be able to catch it.

But isn't part of the fun of it working to evolve the Pokemon yourself?

I think that they shouldn't be capturable. I also think that we need to remember that in-game we're only, at best, a month into our education, so people gotta start slowing down on catching and evolving pokemon :\

To Kae, and others. What could be done about this is simple like what happens in the games when you don't have the proper badge - Pokemon don't obey. You can have stronger Pokemon than you can handle. Simply let the strong be captured, just keep an eye to make sure people are playing them like Ash's Charmander/Charmilion/(Early)Charizard, disobedient??

I completely agree with Thomas and Kae's statements. If you catch fully-evolved Pokemon I think it proves one thing: you're not really trying to have the fun in roleplaying, you just want a strong team to battle with. The fun is in catching it, training it, and having it evolve as you progress. Not catching something that's got no work to be done to it.
And with Kae's statement: our classes IC-ly just started not too long ago. Everyone's rushing to expand their collections and evolve their Pokemon and now we're talking about catching FEs when... really, we should be a lot less novice than what we're making ourselves out to be so far.
If you can catch it, then catch it, I say. But don't forget that IC-ly you should still have a lot to learn about battling, catching, training and raising. No one's character came to the Academy knowing how to do all of those things already.

I think another factor that should be brought into this should be pokeballs. Most of us use our 5 free regular pokeballs. It would be far from easy to catch FE'd pokemon without a better pokeball. Odds are they'll break out even when they're worn out. Not to mention how hard it would be to beat them unless you're already on their level.
So basically, I think they should be captureable. Like any pokemon. But this does not mean you will.
