The gravel crunched under Rose’s boots, as she jumped off the train, dragging her trunk behind her. Her bags were extremely heavy and weighed her down a bit, but she shrugged it off and began to walk on the path that trailed to the huge gates of the Pokémon Academy. The trip to the place hadn’t been extremely bad. She had reached the station right on time and after avoiding a smelly fisherman who seemed to have taken to approaching students who wanted to join the Academy, she boarded the monorail carried her to the island. The only downside to the whole trip was that she had to sit next to some talkative high pitched girl who went on and on about what she was going to do once she defeated the instructors in the ill-famed laboratory. It was irritating enough to have to put up with that alone, not to mention that it was five in the morning, and Rose was highly deprived of sleep. Rose had ignored the girl the best she could, until she finally lost it and told her off, which resulted in some wailing and sobbing. Rose had got off the train as soon as it stopped and had begun walking towards her destination.
Rose shivered a bit. The sun wasn’t up yet and everything was cloaked in white fog. It was pretty scenic, but Rose wasn’t really paying attention to the view. She passed through the gates easily and soon reached a white building that looked like it had survived a cyclone. There was an air of abandon surrounding it, which made it look extremely uninviting. Rose was extremely unimpressed; she had heard a lot about the place, she had higher hopes about it as well. She hoped the inside wouldn’t disappoint her too much.
Rose set her trunk and her haversack down on the polished floor, the marble tiles sparkling under the lights, which had been switched on because the clouds that blanketed the sky outside did not allow even a stray beam of sunlight to escape. The room she stood in had no furniture. It was spick and span, with a few doors leading off to different parts of the strange building. Rose waited patiently, hoping that someone would show up soon. She was tired and highly irritable; she didn’t want to wait too long.
