"I hate you daddy." Claire said to herself, bording the ship. her father had a business meeting to attend to, most likely about selling the business or something. Whatever it was, Claire wasnt focused on it. No matter what, she had her own money to spend anyway. Not only that but she was leaving for Pokemon Academy, so it wouldnt matter what he did. As far as Claire was concerned, even though she wasnt, never was, and still isnt, what he did meant nothing to her. She'd get strong pokemon & become a powerful trainer. After that, she was sure that she'd find a way in the world. But for now, she would board the ferry.
Before the ferry would finally pull off, Claire would go to her room. Her ten bags would be placed near her bed. She'd have tough decisions to make now. She would no longer have things handed to her. She'd be responsible for raising her own pokemon. She had brought ten suitcases, and emptied out only a fifth of her room. She also had her own miniature messenger bag with her laptop & cell phone inside.
Being the only person in her room, she locked her door & began to talk to herself. "I guess yesterday was my last day. I knew it'd come eventually. But I never expected it to happen like that." He muttered, crawling onto the bed. There was nothing on the boat that she'd want to look into, so why not just sit here & try to come to terms with things. Her father had finally collapsed, and there was no more trying to hide the secret from her, though she secretly already knew. Her reality was coming to an end as she knew it. Though she knew it'd happen one day, she still didnt think it'd hurt as much as it did.
"Why am I here?" She asked aloud, turning over to face her ceiling. Her hair spread out onto the bed, from the pillow to the very middle. The pink layer underneath the dark blue layer, finally revealing itself. "Oh yeah..." She reminded herself of the actions she made. "At least I have my blog." She tried to distract herself from accepting the truth. Though she had sent out a text to all of her so called "friends & her bff's" she got no replies saying "I'll miss you" or "It wont be the same without you". She finally realized that she was nothing but an inflated wallet to the girls she thought were her sisters.
As the time passed, her thoughts continued to kill her emotionally. She became so exhausted that with in minutes of her thoughts beginning, she passed out bundled up in her two colors of hair. "Maybe I should accept this..." She muttered to herself sleeping. Hours later the ship finally pulled up to the island a woman knocked on the door. Actually, she beat the door to wake up Claire & whoever else was inside.
Leaving the ship with all her bags, she walked towards the lab. She was a bit early & thus figured, she had nothing else going on. She began to finally accept her position. She had no real reason to be there or not, but she had a feeling that the it wouldnt be the worst. Maybe she'd be allowed to start up her blog again. But this time, she'd use an alias so no one would know she's the one posting everyone else's embarrassing secrets. so after getting her pokemon & getting started, she was more than ready to start up her blog, PAW (Pokemon Academy Wonders).

Elena was walking through the lab, having made a habit out of helping out when she wasn't teaching he class or training with her Pokemon. It helped to kill the time. She had a mug of coffee in her hand...for once, she wasn't carrying her large fan with her. She was still wearing her overly elaborate robes though. One rarity was enough. Either way, she seemed to be the only one here, aside from a few random techs who had pulled all-nighters. Of course, they weren't in any condition to give a test
Taking a sip of coffee, she glanced to the side to notice Claire in the room "...oh my. You're here already? I knew there was going to be a new student, but I wasn't expecting you to arrive so soon." She let out a sigh and set her coffee down, then continued to speak "Ahh, but where are my manners? I am Elena Roan. I teach Battle Tactics at this academy, and I will also be the one giving you your test to determine which dorm you'll be staying in. Do poorly, you will be placed in the Black Dorm...the lowest rank. Do well enough, and you may make it into Yellow. Well then...follow me."
She began walking, assuming that Claire would follow, until they entered a large room. In this room was a battle arena. Moving to a shelf off to the side, she grabbed two Poke Balls, and handed one to Claire, along with a card listing five seemingly random things. "The rules are simple. We will battle using these the Pokemon in these Poke Balls. How well you do will determine which rank you earn. Also, I want you to know that losing the battle will not automatically put you in the lowest rank...you may still make it to yellow if you to well enough."
With a nod, she send out her Pokemon...a Poliwrath. Inside Claire's Poke Ball was a Croconaw. "Very well. On the card I just gave you are moves that this Pokemon can use. You are not limited to just those moves, but, if you're unfamiliar with this particular Pokemon, it will be a useful reference. Whenever you are ready, you may have the first move."
Claire's card
- Aqua Tail - Ice Fang - Metal Claw - Screech - Scary Face

Claire stared at the woman with attitude in her eyes. "I dont care about who the hell you are. Im going to beat you." She interrupted the battle teacher. The brat stared her teacher down. Ugh, how annoying it was to see the woman in such outdated clothing. A robe? Yucks. The gossiper took note that it was her teacher, but yet she still didnt care about how the teacher approached her or introduced herself. She just wanted to go home already. Since that wasnt an option, she'd have to do her best in this battle.
"Im sure that I wont loose. Even if I do, I'll get into the highest rank possible. Im not some pathetic weakling." Claire glared at the older woman. "Get some better clothing." She scolded the teacher, hearing directions to follow behind the woman & her out dated clothes.
As they entered the large battle room, Claire took note of the large room. Before anything was said, she had to make herself feel better about herself. "I couldnt even fit my clothing in this space." Claire complained. Her teacher then gave her a pokeball with a card. The ball contained crconaw, the evolutionary stage proir to feraligatr, one of Claire's favorite powerful pokemon.
Elena released her poliwrath, preparing the fight between the two. "Well, lets hurry up." Claire rushed & insisted. "Croconaw, come out!" She poked the white circular button to release it. "Croc!"It shouted, taking place in front of Claire. She then looked at her note card. Though it was a great pokemon, she didnt know what moves this one knew in particular. "Use screech." She boldly commanded. The croconaw emitted a terriffying roar & shriek together at the poliwrath. Trying to lower its defense.

Elena let out a sigh. "I see...so you're one of those. A girl who was spoiled by wealthy parents and handed everything she's ever wanted on a silver platter." She was tempted to automatically fail her just because of the attitude she displayed, but she wasn't that petty. This didn't stop her from giving the girl a good lecturing, though "Well, I don't know what kind of pampered life you've lived up until now, and I don't know what it is you think you're entitled to because of it...nor do I care. The moment you set foot on the grounds of this Academy, all of that became null and void. A word of advice, young lady...get over yourself. You'll be receiving no special treatment here, least of all from me."
And with that out of her system, she turned her attention to the battle. The challenger started out with Screech, which caused her Poliwrath to cringe lowering his guard. Elena smirked. It would take more than that. "Poliwrath, use Mind Reader." The Poliwrath nodded, and began to focus intensely on the movements of the Croconaw. The next move the Poliwrath made would be a guaranteed hit, and Elena knew precisely which move she was using.

"You dont know anything about me! Dont act like you do!" Claire snapped, holdning her head down. "I dont want to be here! Im leaving as soon as I can. Then I'll be gone & wont have to deal with you! I dont want anything special from any of you people! I just want the freedom I had before! My life is none of your concern, nor will it ever be! I have nothing here to look forward to anyway..." She looked back up & to the side. She was trying to avoid letting the teacher know that her words struck a nerve.
"Croconaw, use aqua tail!" Claire commanded with rage in her heart, consuming her thoughts. The croconaw charged forward powering up its tail. small water spirals formed rings around his tail as he swung it left to right, hopefully hitting the poliwrath.

The Aqua Tail struck, though it hardly did any damage due to the Poliwrath's type. Elena let out a soft sigh at Claire's outburst...a small part of her felt a little sorry for the girl. But this didn't change the fact that she was here and that her attitude was unacceptable. Not to mention that she made a fatal mistake. "You let your emotions cloud your judgement! Poliwrath, use Dynamic Punch!" The Poliwrath nodded charging at the Croconaw in a wild manner, his fist clenched. Once close enough he threw an equally wild punch. The attack was guaranteed to confuse the opponent but the reckless manner of the attack made it rather hard to hit with...normally. Because the Poliwrath used Mind Reader in the previous turn, the normally inaccurate attack was now guaranteed to hit.

The aqua tail landed, striking the poliwrath, but not as hard as it could have. Claire's expression returned to being calm & relaxed. The careless expression she had when she first stepped in. She began to slowly come closer to realizing, she was going to be here for a good while, if not until graduation. "Dammit." She mumbled looked at the note card, seeing none of her moves were effective.
"How will I pull off a decent loss or dramatic win with these moves?" She asked herself, still mumbling to herself. The aqua tail didnt do much, but the next attack was making its way. A dynamic punch! It was sure to land, but Claire didnt want the match to be over already. If she was going to be here for a while, she may as well be the best...or at least as close as she could get to that! "Embrace yourself!" She told croconaw. The water type turned around, just before the punch landed & took the punch right in the torso.
"Croc..." It was pushed back some by the fist. The croconaw managed to keep its ground but was still in brutal pain. "Im sorry Croconaw, but you have to hang in there & keep listening." She told it. The alligator returned to normal footing, only not hearing the commands properly due to confusion. "Dammit..." She mumbled & hesitated to give commands. She finally came with her decision, to try attacking. "Croconaw, try to use ice fang!" Claire called out. Hopefully her voice reached it. Luckily the voice calling out succeeded. The croconaw dashed forward, readying an ice fang!
Roll: If I get 1 the croconaw rushes at you, using ice fang. [dice=2]
If I roll 1 on either, you freeze, second you flinch. [dice=10] [dice=10]

So it managed to keep going despite being confused, eh? Elena was slightly impressed...the key word her being "slightly". Of course, that was mostly luck on Claire's part. "Poliwrath! Let it bite you, then use Submission!" The Poliwrath nodded, allowing the Ice Fang to hit. Once again the attack didn't do much damage. Then, the Poliwrath reached out to grab the Croconaw...it would be very hard to avoid, with him being so close. Should the grab succeed, he'd begin spinning his body rapidly, then throw the Croconaw to the ground with all of the force he could muster. The sudden movements strained the Poliwrath a bit, resulting in some recoil damage, but it was well worth the pain.

ಠ_ಠ Well. Heres my roll: [dice=2]
The girl was annoyed. Her anger began to resurface, reflecting on her annoyed eye twitch. She glared at the battle field. How she'd gotten in this situation was still a blurry, though it happened a second ago. Things began to happen a bit fast for her. Her father's break down. Her coming here. The train ride. No texts from her so called friends. Nobody would come to help her or aid her. Her having nothing left but her clothing, blog, and great sense of style. She had no time to become annoyed at her own actions. In this battle, like in life, she'd realize that her pokemon was the symbol of her life & how all her mistakes could make or possibly break her.
"I wont give in!" She mumbled, with her head down. The girl felt weakened, without an ounce of power. Maybe, its time for her to grow up & own up to this mistakes. She wanted to take back the harsh words that she slammed into the woman earlier, but couldnt. Time only went forward. It would never go back. She looked back up, to see her attack hit. Her facial expression returned to relaxed. But this time was different. It wasnt like when she first arrived. It was like something had changed, as if a light bulb finally clicked & turned on. Though her attack had instantly countered by the submission, she would keep her cool & think more clearly.
"Alright croconaw! If your still listening, get back up. We have to win this!" She encouraged it. Slowly, the croconaw would raise to its feet, looking at the poliwrath. It appeared to also be suffering from the recoil damage. "Use metal claw!" She called out. The water pokemon rushed at the poliwrath, ready to swing its claws at its torso. Hopefully the screech from earlier still had lingering affects & would boost the physical damage of it.

Elena watched as the Metal Claw struck, doing even less damage since both of the Poliwrath's types were resistant to Steel. She nodded quietly, and returned her Pokemon "Alright. I've seen enough. Musahi!" As she called out to her Pokemon, her Samurott appeared, having been watching from the shadows. With him, he brought a yellow belt and case holding three Poke Balls.
"You've proven yourself to have some potential. Learn to control your emotions and you can go far. As such, you will be placed in the Yellow Dorm. As for your starter Pokemon, you may choose one of the Poke Balls from this case." The Samurott held it out to her, and waited for her the girl to choose her Pokemon
Case:
"Oh...and one other thing...even if you are here against your will, do try to enjoy yourself here. It's not as dreadful a place as you might think...who knows? Maybe you'll even end up liking it." Waiting for her to make her choice, she offered the girl a light smile, then headed out of the room, leaving the girl to leave at her own discretion

"Maybe your right." Claire faintly smiled, looking up at the woman. The test was over. She had turned in her pokemon & its pokeball. She hoped to keep it with her, but couldnt due to regulations & shit that didnt matter to her. The girl watched the woman fade away from the room. She stared at her, wondering if she'd see the woman any time soon. Maybe the woman was right. All Claire could do is get over it, and enjoy what she had. Her pokemon & her blog. Now she had to get to class.
"Gothita. You better be worth it." She said to the pokeball, leaving the lab. Now she had to do a few other things, before taking off to class. Her first class was battle tactics! She'd best not be late. "Well, since Im not too interested in pokemon, I'll just do what I know how to! Be pretty, bitchy, and look good doing it." She walked off to her class.
