‘You’ll do well, okay? Just, take a deep breath, relax. Pretend your examiner’s naked. Wait, but what if it’s a lady? Hmmm, okay, let’s try a non-perverted approach.’ Meeka thought to herself as she stood outside the examination room. She felt confident about doing well, but as expected, the young aspiring trainer was nervous.
Staring at the door, she took yet another deep breath. Meeka felt confident in her battling skills, well, she thought she was, at least, she never did have a battle beforehand, but she tried to understand at the very least the basics behind it all. Hopefully she wouldn’t get completely trashed.
Grabbing the small heart shaped pendant hanging from her neck, Meeka smiled warmly. “I’ll go in there and try to do well, just like you would, sis.”
One more deep breath, and she was now ready. There was no turning back. Meeka knocked on the door, ready to begin her exam.

Walking into the laby behind the young girl was the scantily clad Exploration Teacher. Alice, as she went by, hating to be called Ms. Faye, wore her more reserved outfit for this occasion. Today she was to test a new student and provide her with her dorm and starter. For her and her chest-showing black buttoned up shirt and long black dress, this would hopefully turn out fun. Not only had she been given two powerful Pokemon to use in the battle, but also the girls three starters. And as she entered, the teacher shot the girl a quick up-and-down glance.
With a smile on her face, she walked past the girl. "Bonjour young lady, I am Alice Faye, the Exploration teacher, but for now, I am to be your Lab tester. This Pokeball contains zee Pokemon you will be tested with and 'ere is a piece of paper with a list of moves to be used alongside zat Pokemon she stated with her heavy French accent. Inside the girls Pokeball was a Gallade and on the paper contained a list of five moves that the girl could use in this battle.
Holding out her Pokeball, Alice sent out a Charizard. Her eyes beamed as the flamed tail of Charizard bounced off of them. "Beau!" was all she could say. However, even as a teacher, she too was only limited to five moves to use as well. "Whenever you are ready, you may start" Alice stated, ready for battle.
Charizard's Moveset: Heat Wave, Inferno, Air Slash, Shadow Claw, Dragon Claw Gallade's Moveset: Leaf Blade, Night Slash, Fury Cutter, Confusion, Close Combat

"Um... Bonjour...?" Meeka said, in quite possibly the least-accented French ever. "I'm Dominique Sparhawk."
Meeka nodded in understanding and looked at the ball given to her. The contour and feel of the ball familiar to the one she had held days prior to her arrival to the academy. But then again, this one actually contained a Pokemon inside, unlike the pathetic ball Meeka used before.
Feeling slightly more powerful, she tossed the Poke Ball into the air gracefully, for the first time in her life releasing a Pokemon. The adrenaline rush caused by the action was awesome. For once in her life, Meeka felt what it was like to be a Pokemon Trainer.
Now this is where the fun began. Her first ever Pokemon Battle.
‘Now, what do we know about this Pokemon? Well, it’s a Gallade. So… it’s… um… oh, this sucks, I'm blanking out.’
Meeka smiled nervously at the Psychic/Fighting Pokemon. “Hi there. I’m Meeka. I’ll be your trainer for the duration of this battle, so, um, let’s do our best, okay!”
Using a Pokemon she knew nothing about aside from the name, Meeka felt at a great disadvantage. Not to mention the fact that she was battling an expert as well.
But this wasn’t the time to be discouraged. Meeka still had the paper of moves she could use, and she knew, to a small extent, what a Charizard was.
‘Leaf Blade will be useless.’ Meeka made some internal strategy. ‘Grass is crap against Fire.’
With four more moves at her disposal, Meeka rubbed her chin inquisitively. “Alright, Gallade. Use your Confusion attack!”
Focusing his mind, the Gallade stared at the Charizard, aiming for the fire-type. Once ready, he shot the telekinetic wave, the purple wave of mental energy racing towards Charizard. Meeka crossed her fingers, hoping the attack hit. [[Words: 289]] [[Currently: Kind Meeka]] [[Tags: Prof. Faye]] [[Listening to: “Bridge Burning” - Foo Fighters ]] [[Notes: ~~~ ]]

Alice waved off the little greetings, more intent on getting the battle underway. She wasn't rude, she was just much too focused on the task at hand. That, however, didn't stop her from sneaking a peek once more at the young trainer. With any hope, she'd be taking Exploration, where Alice could keep a better eye on her. Alice needed to get to know here students better, she didn't want to fail them, just like she was sure they didn't want to fail her.
Seeing the girl thinking, she knew the girl mustn't have been too familiar with the Gallade. Poor girl. Being the Exploration teacher, Alice had had many experiences making notes and figuring out many different Pokemon. Charizard had always been hard to come by, but she made sure to clear her schedule whenever she saw one.
Once the girl attacked, Alice eyed up her decision. "Direct and to the point, se manifique. Now, Charizard, get to the air" she called out. Charizard opened it's wings as the attack hit his large chest. He rawred, signifying the but just flew upwards in-spite of it. "Now, cut in close with a Shadow Claw!" she ordered. Charizard let out another roar, and swooped in. His claw glowed a dark shade as he came in and took a swipe toward the Gallade.

Meeka bit her thumb nervously, the Gallade let out a quick pained yell as the Supereffective attack struck him. Meeka was no expert in type-matchups, but most people then knew that Ghosts were powerful against Psychic Types. Well, as said, Meeka was no expert, and didn’t even know the Gallade’s types. Her examination was definitely not starting up as she expected.
Yet, the Gallade’s willpower, or basically, the fact that he was still standing gave Meeka a slight boost in her confidence. She tried her hardest to make sure she didn’t go down without a fight, and the Gallade himself was just looking for a good fight.
Meeka took another look at the piece of paper. “Okay, Galla—that’s your nickname from me, I hope you like it—let’s go with Night Slash.”
The Gallade nodded, and charged at the Charizard with his arms at the ready. Then, he unleashed a slash of darkness with the readied arms, almost as if the arms were the blades of a Katana. Alice smiled at the trainer. She was obviously new to battling, but that didn't seem to stop her. This was something Alice liked to see. Even if someone didn't know fully what to do, showing drive and determination would shine through it. Alice would need to speak to this girl once she was more settled in. She would mind getting to know her and offring her some help or assistance if she needed any.
When the Night Slash came, Alice didn't budge, nor did the Charizard. He took the attack and his neck and head were thrown back. But he grabbed onto the Gallade's arm afterward. He didn't much like getting hit. "Now zat you two are close, give 'im a point blank Heat Wave Charizard!" Alice ordered. The Charizard let go of the Gallade and soon a red and orange ball formed in his mouth. He soon pushed off to gain some space between himself and the other Pokemon before a large wave of red flames shot out towards the Psychic/Fighting type.

The Gallade met the Charizard eye to eye and gritted his teeth. He sensed the heat from the Charizard as he began to ready his Heat Wave attack. Bracing himself for impact, he took the full blast of the attack, and dropped to the ground from the blast.
But he was not completely down. He hung on by the skin of his teeth. He stood up, just barely, and shook a bit. A strong wind would be just enough to knock the Gallade out, but he didn’t care. So long as he still had consciousness, he was going to keep on going.
Meeka, however, didn’t think it would be a good idea to continue. Pokemon were not tools of war, and she knew too well that she shouldn’t overexert a Pokemon on the verge of falling.
Staring aghast at the scorched Gallade, the pink-haired girl ran to the Pokemon’s side. “Stop the battle, stop the battle, please!”
The Gallade looked back at Meeka, with mixed feelings of respect, and disappoint, although he wanted to keep battling.
Taking out the Poke Ball that first encased the Gallade, Meeka recalled the rented Pokemon, not caring if she got disqualified or failed the assessment.
“I’m… sorry.” Meeka looked down at her feet. “Um… so… what’s the lowest rank again?”

Alice raised her hand after her Charizard attacked. She had heard the girls plea, and she smiled. That was the sign of a very caring trainer. This was something she was happy to see. "Charizard, stand down. Zee battle is over" she told the large lizard. It roared, and then Alice returned it to its ball. She wasn't going to chance it wanting to continue fighting. They were very dangerous Pokemon. The teacher shook her head and smiled. "Non. You did well. Not zee best fighter, sadly, but you clearly 'ave 'eart and 'ou are very caring. That's somesing I find to be a far more appealing quality in a trainer, than those whole only want to win" she replied. She hand the little girl a Black belt. "Not zee worst 'ouse, that would be Red" she laughed. "Listen, I would like to 'elp you out a bit. If you would like to learn and train more, just come see me, alright? I'd be glad to teach 'ou some tricks and what not" Alice added before pulling out three Pokeballs. "Now you just 'ave to pick your starter and you can start you life 'ere at zee Academy" she said, holding out the balls. --- Choices: Pidgey -- Timburr -- Aron

“Um…” Meeka looked down at her choices, and picked the Poke Ball with the Pidgey in it. “Thank you, professor. I’ll make a note of that. I’ll be sure to visit you soon.”
Grabbing the Poke Ball in her hands, Meeka felt a small tinge of happiness, and at the same time, irony. While she never did catch the Pidgey back home, she still managed to get one now. But that was beside the point. Despite her rank, one thing raced around in Meeka’s mind: she was now a Pokemon Trainer.
Not finding another way of expressing her gratitude, she quickly hugged the professor, before she realized what she had done. Not wanting to risk a sexual harassment lawsuit, she let go of the hug and coughed awkwardly. “Um. I’ll um, see you later, Professor. Thank you, once again.”
And with that said, the girl skipped out of the examination room, happy as can be.
