"Alright, let's see of they're still pissed at me."
Laz said to no one in particular. He was already by his lonesome in this barren and frozen desert of an area here in the academy. How there could be snow all year long always did elude him, probably a pack of Walreins spamming Blizzard and Hail at the top or something.
Laz trudged through the shin high snow, it was a bitch to travel through, having a hard time finding a firm enough place to travel and the rocks around him were pretty sharp. He couldn't risk blindly raising his foot and stomping down a spike.
He could always try and use one of his pokemon as a steed but he decided against it, having a petty reason of wanting to know what it felt like to trudge through this kind of screwed up snow. Not to bloody mention that the weather was getting pretty screwy, to the point that he could feel hail hitting him already.
"Best to get this over with, I guess."

As it turned out, Adriel was out here as well. Though her reasons were simple. Training. Her Tropius and newly-evolved Marowak were out, braving the icy cold. Adriel figured it would help them better resist their weaknesses to ice, even if only a little. Besides, being out in a naturally cold and snowy environment wasn't as bad as getting blasted with snow and ice from a Pokemon, so she was confident they could handle it. Her Monferno was also out, but she remained at Adriel's side, ready to warm her and the other Pokemon up when needed.
Adriel herself was dressed for the occasion, wearing a heavy cloak with a hood and heavily padded pants to protect her from the cold. It slowed her movement down a little, but it was better than freezing to death. For practice, she was using a rather large mass of ice. It was quite solid, and more than able to handle being repeatedly struck. At the moment, however, the group was taking a break, with the Monferno spitting a small stream of flames to warm them up some. It was at this point that she noticed Laz, and called out to him "Hey Laz! What are you doing all the way out here?!"

"Okay, this is stupid."
Laz huffed as he released his Houndoom. The gigantic fire pokemon roaring to life as the weather seemed to fear his very presence. As awesome as that could have been (TAKE THAT you stupid weather man!), Vulcan had just essentially used 'Sunny Day.' A pretty recent move he learned from an object his Master gave him.
"We'll just burn this place down like---Hm?"
Laz grumbled as he trudged through the still shin-high snow. Sure it wasn't hailing like hell anymore, which in itself was a good thing. Not exactly wanting to burn the forest down, much more wanting to burn the insides of the cave, Laz trudged through the pathway with Vulcan only giving a steady stream of Embers to melt a path.
Finally getting a few more inches above the snow, Laz trudged towards Adriel, who he had managed to remember this time around. "Oh, hey! I was just planning on getting some more training. Rumors around school said there was this hostile Machamp around the area and I wanted to fight it."
Laz said, not exactly lying since there actually was a pretty hostile Machamp somewhere around these parts. "How about you? Anything interesting going on the Blizzard?"

Sora blinked as Laz mentioned the Machamp wandering around "...whoa really? I haven't seen anything like that running around...kinda glad I haven't run into it. As stong as my team has been getting, I don't know if they're ready to take on something that powerful...well...except maybe Tornado, here." She quickly motioned to her Tropius, to give Laz an idea who she was talking about.
She let out a soft sigh of relief once she noticed that the blizzard and hail had cleared up, since it let her, at the very least, remove the hood. She then continued. "I'm in the middle of some training myself. I figured having them train in this cold environment might help them in dealing with Ice attacks. Anyways...this is my latest catch, Tornado" She said, once again motioning to the Tropius. She then pointed out her Marrowak, smiling proudly "And I'm sure you remember Break. He's gotten a lot stronger since our battle."

"Well, don't worry about it too much. Heard some red-head trainer with a Houndoom took him down."
Laz shrugged as he felt the itty bitty small rays of sun shining down on his face. "Finally, some bearable weather." Laz commented with a smile as he felt the warm fuzzy feeling you get after getting a ray of sunshine. Given it wasn't concentrated or fuck, that's gonna hurt like hell.
"Ah, a Tropius? Looks strong."
Laz commented as he looked at it in the eye. Giving it the respect it deserved by back off a bit and giving a small wave and a ghost of a smile. Though it wasn't obvious, except if you knew how Laz thought or could read minds, the trainer was already thinking of ways on how to beat it.
"How'd you catch him?"
Laz asked as he referred to the Tropius despite walking towards the Marowak and smiling at it. "What's up, little guy? You've grown since we last met." Laz greeted, feeling happy to see the Marowak that Riel had with her.

Adriel smirked at his comment regarding a 'red-headed trainer with a Houndoom'. Besides herself, there was only one person that immediately came to mind who was red-headed...and she didn't have a Houndoom. The Marrowak smiled as Laz greeted him. Adriel, upon Laz's hearing Laz's comment and questions about her Tropius, let out a sigh. "I found him in the forest...and believe me when I say it wasn't easy. He took out three of my Pokemon before I could deal enough damage to capture him." The Tropius let out an annoyed huff, something of a combination of "I said I was sorry!" and "...whatever".

"Well, you caught him in the end."
Laz laughed honestly, happy for his class slash school mate. Glad that she was able to catch a worthy pokemon. Maybe he could get some kind of experience from either pokemon, it'd help a lot that's for sure.
"Huh, I wonder what we could do in this terrain. You up for a battle, Riel?"
Laz asked as he trudged through the snow again, the height of it lessening at least as the snow storm had ended and the snow was beginning to disperse towards some other place that had yet to be filled with shin high snow. Stupid snow just had to get in his shoes now. Meh, Laz'll just have Vulcan melt the snow later. He didn't feel like burning everything to the ground just yet.

When Laz challenged her, she nodded "Sounds like fun...in fact, if you don't mind, how about we make it a double? I've been wanting to do some team training, and this seems like a good way to start. As for my Pokemon..." She nodded, returning her Marrowak and Tropius to their Poke Balls, leaving the Monferno out. She then sent out her Wartortle. "Break and Tornado are worn out from their training. Instead, I'll use Flare and Flood." From there, Adriel waited to see what Laz would send out. Knowing him, it was probably going to be powerful...but she wouldn't have it any other way.

"I'll be using Styx and Freeze then."
Laz said as he turned his back and once more walked on the snow. A few more paces towards the north and Laz stopped before turning around to face Riel. His Houndoom following his side and stayed behind him, doing his job and making sure no wild pokemon would interfere.
Pulling out two pokeballs from his belt, the red headed male trainer lobbed them on the ground and the recurring crack ensued their appearance. Styx, a mighty red Crawdaunt roared and made an intimidating look with his frightening pincers, capable of smashing boulders into pieces.
Then out came Freeze, now a Piloswine from intense training. The brown shaggy fur being used as its natural defense against weather such as this and a small look of recognition filled his eyes.
<"I'm fighting against my former trainer?">
It mumbled to itself as it got ready for the battle. It didn't falter though, as much as he would have enjoyed to sit down and have a long chat with his former teammates, the Piloswine knew where his loyalty was.

She couldn't help but grin upon seeing the Piloswine...even though she was no longer her Pokemon, there was a sense of pride that swelled up within her...mostly happiness to see that she was doing so well with her training that she had evolved. "Well well, looks like Break isn't the only one who's grown." But, they'd catch up later. For now, it was time to battle.
Eying the two opponents, Adriel frowned. Flare was at a severe disadvantage, between the Crawdaunt being a Water-type and the Piloswine knowing Earthquake...which was undoubtedly even more powerful now that she had evolved. If Flare was to have any chance of lasting in this battle, she would have to be careful. "Alright guys...let's try out the new moves I taught you earlier. Flood, use Scald on Fre-...I mean, the Piloswine! Flare, use Brick Break on the Crawdaunt!"
Both of them nodded. Though it kinda sucked having to face a former ally, it didn't affect them too badly. The Wartortle started things off by spraying a blast of boiling-hot water at the Piloswine, while the Monferno charged at the Crawdaunt...once close enough, she would attempt to strike with a powerful chop. Adriel watched quietly, waiting to see what would happen.
[dice=10] "If the die lands on 1-3, Piloswine is burned if Scald hits"

"Styx, Bubblebeam against the Scald and block with a Crabhammer! Freeze, drown them out with Ancient Power and Earthquake!"
Laz ordered the two, only taking that long for he hasn't come up with a combo name suitable for it. The actions themselves were something both can do, however and since they weren't far from each other, it was completely possible with their skill.
The Crawdaunt gave a roar of its name as it raised its Pincer and opened it. Launching an enormous amount of bubbles that connected with the boiling Scald. One by one, the bubbles burst but inch by inch, the Scald weakened. Luckily, the Scald had become to weak by the end of the Bubblebeam that it missed the Crawdaunt.
The ever promising Monferno though, had managed to reach him, the Brick Break at the ready and was aiming for him. Angling his remaining Pincer, the Crawdaunt hid behind it, adding what force he could to drown out the power of the Brick Break with his Crabhammer. It was enough to lock both contestants in place.
The Piloswine being this close to his opponents, naturally would give him an easier time of hitting them at least. A bunch of jagged rocks had risen from the ground as the Piloswine assaulted the Monferno in such an angle that only the Monferno would be hit by the Ancient Power, as the attack flew towards it wanting to maim the daylights of the enemy.
Soon after the attack, the Piloswine roared its name ferociously, lifting its front legs high in the air before smashing them down with such tremendous force that cracks on the battle field began to emerge as Earthquake ravaged the battle field and would more or less affect everyone in the vicinity.

Adriel watched on with both amazement and dread as the Crawdaunt defended the Piloswine and locked her Monferno in a power struggle. This made her an easy target for the Ancient Power. Then came the Earthquake. Since she was still recovering from the first hit, there was nothing the Monferno could do to avoid the powerful attack. She was taken down. Her Wartortle was also hit pretty hard by the attack, but was still standing...weak, but standing
Things weren't looking good, but neither she nor Adriel planned on going down without a fight. After returning her Monferno, she nodded "Alright then...we're going after the Piloswine! Move in and strike with Aqua tail. After that, Hydro Pump!" The Wartortle nodded. She began charging toward the Piloswine, a large amount of water swirling around her tail. Once close enough, she would attempt to slam her tail into the Piloswine. Then, whether or not it succeeded, she would immediately follow by unleashing a point-blank jet of water so powerful that it would launch her back several feet. She wasn't powerful enough to fully control it, but Adriel figured that, being that close, control wouldn't be an issue.

"Styx! Block it! Freeze, another Ancient Power!"
Laz ordered his pokemon. Naturally, in an arena where the land was fair and did not decide to screw you over at every moment like Murphy would. Styx had followed the order, rushing in and not taking into account several factors that would more or less affect his performance.
As such, just in time to block the Aqua Tail with a mighty Crab Hammer, the Crawdaunt felt his feet sink lower, trapping them and pretty much making him easy pickings for the Hydro Pump that blasted him in the face. It was acknowledgeable at least. He could weather through it and it won't bother him as much as, let's say a bloody Thunderbolt.
While Styx was busy making out with the Wartortle's Spit, Freeze sent a barrage of Ancient Power at the enemy, stones flying at insane speeds towards it. Feeling as if it wasn't enough, the Piloswine let loose another barrage just to make sure it did hit.

Adriel let out a sigh...her Wartortle was able to avoid the first Ancient Power, only to get nailed by the second. By the time she had thought to give the command to use Protect, it was already too late...the Battle was over. "Oi...you seriously kicked my ass. Looks like I have a long way to go." Despite the rather crushing defeat, she was in a good mood. Already, she was getting some ideas in her head on how to improve her double battling.

"It could've been worse."
Laz laughed, a small smile on his face as he returned both of his pokemon into their pokeballs. The fight finished with him on the side that had a victory. This was at least a step closer for his pokemon into becoming a stronger force to be reckoned with.
Trudging up the snow, Laz neared his fellow red head and extended a hand, for formality's sake. "Thanks for the fight Riel. Maybe next time, you'd call me when your Wartortle evolves into a Blastoise."
Laz suggested a small smile on his face again. Not really wanting to leave yet since he had nothing better to do, Laz thought about it again though. His presence wasn't always a welcome one and he'd probably be intruding. So instead of offering to train together, Laz just gave a small wave of his hand at Adriel before turning around and heading towards the forest, debating if he should go back to the dorms or explore the cave like he originally planned.
