With a heavy heart, Thomas let out a small sigh. He scratched behind Kumajiro's ear as they neared the Cave and the bear glanced up at him. He recognized this Cave, it was his old home. Kuma blinked a few times before looking back to Thomas and spying his trainers emotions. Letting out a soft growl, the bear stopped moving. He knew why he was here. If Tom felt his parents needed him, Tom would set him free. But he didn't want to leave Thomas. To him, Thomas was his family now. "No, come on boy. I have to find your parents...I took you from them in order to make you better, to cure the poisoning you received....I need to show them your alright, that I wasn't there to harm them or you....And if they need you...I-" he explained, and continued to talk before Kuma let out a small rawr to stop Thomas from continuing talking. He really didn't want to leave Thomas and the rest of the group. "Let's...just...Let's just go explore then. If we don't find your parents, we wont come back okay? And who knows, maybe we'll find you a nice lady Beartic to play with while we explore" Thomas winked with a smile. Kuma perked up an eyebrow and then trotted forward, eying his master as the two entered the Cave.

As Thomas Faye and his Beartic, a bipedal figure's shadow could be seen creeping along the wall. As it came into full lighted view, it revealed not to be a man... but a Pokemon! Slowking stood with his arms behind his back, looking at the two who'd just entered the cave. "If my memory serves me correctly, I know you," he said while looking at the Beartic. He had known him before he evolved. "Ah, yes. My, how you've grown! Here to see your parents, Mr. and Mrs. Beartic, I assume?"

As Thomas and his bear wandered into the cave, Kuma's head lifted up. Sniffing the air, he pushed himself upwards so he could get a better view of the cave. The large Pokemons eyes narrowed, trying to get a better glimpse into the area, and soon he noticed a shadow. A low grumbling came up through his throat. He wasn't about to let some shadow scare him or his master. "Settle boy" Tom said, petting the bear's back.
Lowering back onto his fours, he and Thomas soon noticed the figure was in fact a Slowking. When he started to talk, Thomas wasn't too surprised. He had seen and heard a Sawk and Throh talk, a talking PSYCHIC type wasn't too hard for him to conceive. "Yes, I'm that little Cubchoo. I...I'm not here to see my parents, but my trainer says we should see them and let them know how I've grown. I...just fear they'll want me back and I'll have to leave him" Kumajiro told the Slowking, looking up to Thomas before looking to the Slowking. Thomas didn't fully understand what Kuma said, but assumed it was along the lines of not wanting to go back to his parents.
"Do you know where his parents are, and if they're okay? I want to apologize for taking their little boy and show them I've been good to him" Thomas asked the Slowking.

Slowking nodded after hearing both of their stories. He couldn't help but laugh a little afterward. Looking to Thomas, "Yes, I do know where they are." Then he looked to Beartic, "And trust me, my friend. If you run into your parents again, that should be the last of your worries. But alas, I will cease discussion for fear that I give too much away. I want to sway no decisions. Simply follow me if you are interested in seeing those who birthed you." Slowking would turn around, not caring if the two followed or not.
A Smeargle would be up the way in the cave, painting his rendition of ancient cave art upon the wall. He was shivering cold, but all artists must suffer for their art.

Thomas pondered on the Slowking's words, wondering what he could possibly mean, or be referring too. Was he going to be attacked? He hoped not. Kumajiro, however, didn't seemed fazed. It was nice to hear they hadn't become frail since he left. So, after looking at one-another, Thomas and Kuma started walking once more, following the Slowking. "So....I can't help but wonder, why is a Water and Psychic type like yourself all the way up in this cold mountain. Seems a bit....of a peculiar place for someone like you, a Slowking" Thomas stated, walkinh behind the Psychic type, and beside his Ice type.

"I came years ago in search of the King's Rock. I was only a Slowpoke when I came up out of the pond. Frankly, I like it here better now. Less interruptions; trainers don't usually travel deep into the cave where I live. Don't be surprised if you never see me again..." he trailed off, turning down a corner. Would he be followed?
A Swinub sat eating truffles with its Piloswine parents. Would Thomas try robbing the cradle again?

"That must have taken you a long while to get here. Slowpoke's aren't really known for their speed, eh?" Thomas stated. Kuma nudged Thomas's hand and Tom gave him a glance before smiling. Apparently Kuma wanted Thomas to have an easier trip, and so the ice-bear offered him to ride on his back. Crawling up and sitting on the bears back, Kuma kept following the Slowking. "They aren't going to try to harm my trainer, are they, Slowking?" Kumajiro asked, a bit nervously.

"If I say too much then I disrupt the balance. Whatever happens down that cave concerns you, your trainer, and your parents. I want no hand in it." Slowking said his last few wise words before stopping at the mouth of a cave. It was dark down the corridor. "Good luck," he said before making an about-face and walking off in a different direction back toward his own nest.

"What was that about?" Thomas muttered, petting Kuma's neck fur. The bear let out a little growl. He wasn't happy with the answer he had been given. If his parents chose to attempt to hurt his trainer, he felt obligated to defend Thomas. He didn't want to defy his parents, but he wouldn't want to see Thomas harmed. Hopefully, however, they wouldn't harm him. Hopefully they'd see how happy the two were and they'd let him go unscathed. "Well, let's get going buddy" Thomas stated as Kuma started down the cave.

Deep, dark, dank and mysterious. The two walked down the corridor, hearing rumbles as they would get closer to the nesting ground Beartic had lived in as a Cubchoo. Last chance to turn back and try to find the Piloswine, Swinub or Smeargle. Keep going forward?

Going further down the cave, Thomas let out a sigh. He would have liked to get another Pokemon while he was here, but while following the Slowking, he felt it would be rude. Plus, he didn't know how the Slowking would have reacted. He was already here to confront two probably angry parent Beartic's, he didn't want to add in a grumpy Slowking as well. "You ready Kuma? I think we must be close" Thomas stated as the two ventured further into the Cave.

Up ahead, the darkness ends and the light begins as the two would enter a corridor with various apertures in its roof that allowed natural sunlight to enter. In a nest fast asleep were two baby Beartic; girls, probably a few weeks old at best. They lay near each other for warmth. Much bigger tracks were seen scattered around on the floor, but no other signs of a larger creature were evident.

They had to be getting close. Thomas felt it getting a bit colder as they went further, but he wouldn't complain. He didn't mind the cold, except when it ruined things on his farm. Kumajiro sniffed the air a bit as they came up to the small Cubchoo's. They had a familiar sent about them. He quietly sat on the ground and Thomas climbed off his back. He stayed away from the small Cubchoo's while his Beartic let out a low growling sound, hoping to catch the other Beartic's attention.

The two small Cubchoo would smile and not seem to care too much that this Beartic was in their nursery. He wasn't their dad, but he was still... familiar. What they didn't know was that this was their older brother; Kuma had infant twin sisters!
A low growl could be heard as Mama and Papa Beartic came walking in on all fours through a corridor to the side. They'd just come from an underground ice lake, hunting Magikarp; the orange scales were still on their claws. Upon seeing the intruder Pokemon and the trainer near her young, the mother let out a mighty roar that shook loose snow from the cave walls.

Tom noticed that the small Cubchoo's weren't upset by either his or Kuma's presence. Maybe that was a clue that they were where they needed to be. If they didn't mind Kuma, and Kuma didn't mind them, maybe that meant they were probably family, even if they were far younger than he was. And when the parents came back, Thomas's Beartic didn't flinch what so ever. Tom, however, twitched a bit before taking a step closer to the large bear on his team. Kuma glared at the mother Beartic that was growling. "Really mother, that's how you greet me after all this time? Not enough you fed me a poison berry that he had to save me from, but now you wont even greet me with a hello, thanks..." Kuma growled at the mother Beartic.

The twins would whimper as their parents made their return. Those growls didn't sound very friendly, and the little girls didn't want to be in the way when the fighting started. They scuttled into a corner, nuzzling one another.
You shut your mouth! No one talks to my mate like that. Our jobs are to keep ourselves alive and care for our cubs. Showing affection for grown Beartic isn't in the job description! Papa Beartic reared up onto his hind legs, and Mama would soon follow. Together the two began to growl at the tops of their lungs, causing icicles to plummet from the roof cave - would their Icicle Crash attack be successful?
It was a sad fact. These Beartic had new children to bring up, and felt no obligation to this tame Pokemon who had entered into their nursing area. They knew he was their son; but he was also a potential threat to their current young.

"That's rich. Care for your cubs....you POISONED me. I was only safe because HE took me" Kumajiro growled back. Watching his parents stand up, Kuma stood up too and eyed down his parents. His eyes went to the small sisters of his, then looked back to the two Beartic's. He wasn't here to scar and ruin to small Pokemon's lives, he was here to confront his parents. When the Icicle Crash started, Thomas ducked behind his large bear and grabbed Suma's Pokeball. He heard a little growl from Kuma and figured the large bear didn't want Tom to do that. Maybe he wanted to resolve this peacefully?
Taking the Ice attack, Kuma didn't didn't even flinch. He took the hit and just glared. "Keep yourselves and the cubs alive and care for them, yet you potentially bring down the entire cave just to deal with me? That's brilliant..." Kuma scoffed, glaring at his parents.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 couldn't stand all this fighting. They turned tail and began to crawl along the cave wall. As they discovered a hole in it, they went through the passage. Exploring the cave would be more fun than sitting around and watching this.
Leave now, the mother roared, not appreciating at all that her eldest son would not only intrude her home but then bring her parenting skills into question. After seeing Kuma take the brunt of the Icicle Crash and not even flinch, they took his not backing down as further challenge.
It would be Papa who began to stomp forward first, closely followed by his partner. Physical altercation? Stay tuned.

Noticing the Cubchoo's leaving, Thomas glanced to Kuma. The bear, as its parents talked, didn't budge. He was either attempting to show them his strength by not backing down, or he didn't want to physically confront them. But then Thomas noticed something...Kuma's head had twitched every so slightly as the small cubs left. Thomas shot a look up to him and Kuma gave a small nod. Pulling out Tumtum and Suma's Pokeballs, Thomas released the two. "Tumtum, BrickBreak, Suma Arm Thrust, Kumajiro, BrickBreak!" Thomas ordered. Both Tumtum and Suma rushed forward, Tumtum's hand glowing white to deliver a BrickBreak to the mother while Suma went to deliver an Arm Thrust ([dice=4] Whatever it is +1) to the mom as well. Kuma's paw glowed bright white, which hide on his fur, as he went to sock his own father with the Fighting move.[rand=15642954168034517441748221792239656333214685506339299450390354612]

So far away now, they could barely hear the battle going on. The Cubchoo girls went along a small, narrow tunnel.
Both Beartics began to roar as they prepared for the incoming attacks. Mama Bear used Endure as two Pokemon attacked her at the same time; she was pushed back a little, but soon dug her feet into the ground and ended that. She began to glow a light blue as she used Superpower and then slammed her closed paw against the wall nearest her. Large stones fell down, aiming to crush Munchlax and Makuhita.
Papa, on the other hand, didn't even want to be touched. As the enemy came rushing toward him, he opened his mouth wide and, using Blizzard, blew out freezing cold winds moving at about 80 miles per hour. Of course it wouldn't hurt that much; it was just supposed to stop the Brick Break.

Thomas watched carefully. The only one who hadn't hit was Kumajiro, but he wasn't about to let that deter him. The Blizzard to the face barely seemed to faze him either. Yes he was hit, but he didn't show any pain, much like with the Icicle Crash when it hit him. His none-blocked paw came back and took a large swipe at his father with SuperPower. Thomas hadn't ordered him to attack, but Kumajiro didn't need orders to deal with his parents.
"Tumtum, BrickBreak again, Suma, Force Palm" Tom ordered. The Pokemon had rolled back, both sharing in the hit but getting up just the same. Tumtum ran ahead again, palm ready to strike while the front of Suma's glove/paw glowed white, before the Fighting move was released.

Papa Bear reeled back as he was clubbed with the Superpower charged fist. He backed into a wall, slamming his spine against the crag. Mama Bear - a much more tactical fighter than the father of her children - was witted enough to roll out of the way of the fighting-type attacks headed her way. She barreled over to where her mate was, growling as both to say "stay back" and "you better still be good to fight."
Papa bear shook himself okay and stepped forward. Mama Bear stood up onto her hind legs to join her man at full height. The two opened their mouths, but not for another growl... oh no. From within, strange sky blue glows manifested. They grew into powerful lights as both Beartic prepared to launch a tandem Sheer Cold attack! They'd had enough of this and were ready to send everything into a deep-freeze. Within such a confined space, wall-hugging would serve none of the intruders much good.
Meanwhile, the Cubchoo twins heard a weird chiming noise and followed it. They happened upon a Chingling who was right about their age! He expressed a worry because of all of the common he heard and said he was going to check it out. They assured him it was nothing to worry about - just their overprotective parents. I wish they would just stop, cried the first one. Me too, came the second.
I can make them stop, if you want me to, the Chingling said. The Cubchoo's looked at each other before deciding that they would enjoy that very much so and began to lead him back to the fray...

Tom was glad to see his Pokemon holding out like they were. He was proud of them. Kumajiro still found more ways to impress him. He was holding his own against his own parental Beartic. That was impressive. And despite not being of any type that was effective to Ice, Tumtum seemed to be keeping pace with Suma for holding off the second Beartic. They would all get so much praise for their hard work. He was a bit upset they had missed, but they were resilient and stubborn. They seemed quit determined.
However, when the Beartics recouped, Tom noticed they were redying a strong attack. "Everyone, get back here!" Tom called out. Tumtum and Suma waddled as quickly as the could, but Kuma stood tall. When the others were by Thomas, he landed on all fours and moved his body to take the brunt of both attacks.

The twins pointed over at their parents who were about to use the very powerful attack that would surely end this battle. Chingling could see by the looks of things that these two were definitely the ones causing the ruckus. A chiming noise was heard as the little Psychic type closed his eyes and began to hum and the use Confusion. When he opened his eyes, his eyes were blue; the four eyes shared between Mom and Pop were the same hue.
As the Beartics grew confused under the magic of Chingling, the glows growing in their jaws died down. Both returned to all four paws and began to walk out of the cave and back toward the Magikarp lake. Once there, they'd dip their heads in the water and snap out of their confusion. In other words, Chingling had bought Tom and his crew about five minutes. The baby Cubchoo sat in the corner, thanking their new friend for the assist.
ooc- the affect and strength of chingling's confusion attack were enhanced for mod purposes. if caught, don't expect to use them in the same fashion.

Thomas braced himself, holding on tightly to Suma and Tumtum to the best of his abilities. They were big Pokemon, so that was hard. He hoped Kumajiro would be alright, he was strong, but two moves like that could be deadly. As they all hid behind Kuma, Tom felt his bear preparing an Endure. If he was lucky, he'd be safe. But it seemed as soon as Kuma used Endure, something stopped the parents from attacking. How lucky for him and his Pokemon!
Noticing the Chingling, Thomas spotted the parent Beartic's leaving. Kuma looked to his sisters, then his parents. "They don't need me...And they obviously don't want me. Girls, I'm sorry to have caused you trouble and grief, I didn't want to start a fight" he told his sisters before lightly brushing his large paws over each in a friendly way, apologizing. Thomas watched, then spied the Chingling. Oh, it was adorable. "Tumtum, Suma, return" Tom said, returning his friends. Thomas then slowly went to Kuma and the Chingling. Poking it gently, Tom smiled. "Adorable! Say, I noticed you came and helped out these little Cubchoo's, and I apologize for having caused a ruckus. You see, I helped this Beartic when it was a baby Cubchoo whose parents, those Beartics, had fed it a Poisoned berry. I took him to keep him safe, and I just wanted him to come see his parents, then all that happened. We, him and I and my other Pokemon, we like to help other Pokemon out, and you seem to be a great help. What would you say to joining us and helping us help others?" Tom explained, hopeful the little Psychic would join him.

The twins would smile as their big brother petted them. Hopefully he wouldn't come back around anytime soon; they're parents didn't need this sort of stress. They trotted off toward the lake, wanting to be there when their parents snapped out of confusion.
The Chingling chimed a goodbye to his new friends before being approached by the trainer. It listened to his proposal and smiled, letting out a happy tinging noise.

Petting Kuma as the bear smiled at his sisters, Tom was glad to see they were nice little cubs. When the Chingling chimed happily, Tom took that as it wanting to join him and his team. Tom lit up happily and quickly pulled out a Pokeball. "Then you should get in quick so we can get going to avoid the parents again" Tom stated with a smiled before lightly tossing the ball at the Chingling. Hopefully it wasn't a little jokester that just acted like it wanted to join. After the ball had been tossed, Tom would take Kuma and they would leave, hopefully with their new friend.
