Eros was walking along the base of the volcano with his Nidoran following closely behind. She was practically weaving between his legs, trying to nuzzle him. "Nidoran, I need you to focus, okay? Eyes peeled, all right, babe?" The sweet name was enough to make Nidoran straighten up. She trotted ahead of her trainer, trying to make him proud. Wakefield just knew that he needed to get his Nidoran some more field experience.

Not far from where Eros and his Nidoran were, were clear markings on the ground. The soot, dirt and ash on the mountain-side were padded down with one padded-down path going right, while the other stayed going the direction Eros was already traveling. If, upon getting to the divergent paths, one would take a closer look at the markings on the ground, they'd see something special about both. Both had clearly been used often and for a long time, but the one heading to the right often showed the spacing of a non-bipedal type of footing, while the straight path had footprints spaced farther apart, indicating they were traveled on more-so by bipedal types. Could that indicate how the terrain was?

Nidoran used her snout to try leading them down the right path, but at the fork in the road she simply could not make a decision. She looked back at her trainer for guidance. He hadn't given much consideration or looked at the paths as closely as he should before saying, "Why don't we go this way?" He took a step in the left straight direction and Nidoran followed.

Following the straight forward path, you notice the area is far more wide open. A clear plateau, there didn't seem to be much here. Every now and again, a tree would be seen, and some small shrubs. However, one thing that clearly stood out was a bit away. The clear path made it easy to notice a large erect rock with a tiny figure near by it, seemingly striking it. It was, however, still too far away to be noticed.

"What's that?" Eros asked himself, placing a hand over his brow to block the sun. Nidoran sped ahead to investigate, trying to make her trainer proud by showing initiative. "Wait, be careful!" Eros called out, beginning to jog after his overzealous Poke-pal.

Upon getting closer and closer, the figure would be reveled as a small Pokemon. It was a Tyrogue who was striking the rock. Using his forearms, his elbows, his knees, his fists, his feet and even his head, the Tyrogue assaulted the large rocks. He made clear indents in the rock, but nothing serious. It would seem as if he was intent on training. He even ignored the Nidoran as it came up by him, and even her trainer. "TyyyyROUGE!" it would call out, making combos against the rock.

Eros would slowly lose interest as they got closer and closer to what was striking the rock; a Pokemon like Tyrogue wouldn't that great of an addition to a coordinator's team (at least, Eros wasn't sure how to effectively incorporate it). "Let's just leave him al--" but Eros was cut off as his Pokemon charged forward with a Fury Swipes attack. Nido! If Eros wanted her to train, then she'd train against this guy! "Wait!" But she didn't stop; Eros hoped she knew what she was getting into.

Hearing voices behind him, Tyrogue ignored them for the most part. There were far more important things then people talking behind him, things like training. But despite ignoring them, he could still hear them. He heard the Nidoran charging at him and he sidestepped when she got close enough. Diving in for a Tackle, he went to hit with enough force to knock her into the stone as well.

After knocking the Nidoran with a Tackle and pushing her into the large rock, he let out a little snort of displeasure. Having seen the Nidoran seemingly go crying to her owner. Pathetic. She started a fight she didn't seem to want to finish. But then her trainer told her to go back and fight more. Sighing as he turned around, Tyrogue felt himself hit by the Poison Sting and he glared. Such a weak attack! The Tyrogue, however, knew he didn't know many attacks, but he still could use them to attack. Grabbing a hold of the Nidoran, Tyrogue went to Tackle again while he grabbed a hold of her.

Eros felt himself growing a little ticked as the Tyrogue attacked his little girl; the way he grabbed onto her and tackled her was enough to drive him mad. "We'll show him, won't we, love? Bite attack!" Nidoran had winced in the midst of her tackle, but her eyes were wide open as her trainer called her 'love.' She opened her chops and bit down hard, aiming to clamp onto Tyrogue's arm.

Knowing he didn't have a very good move pool, Tyrogue figured he'd have to get this match done sooner rather than later. He didn't want to just keep Tackling, he wanted to go back to punching and kicking the rock. So when the Nidoran charged with a Bite attack, he braced himself and held out his hands. Grabbing a hold of her mouth, the Tyrogue grunted and held her off by her face. Unfortunately, this stopped him from attacking this time around.

As Tyrogue held open Nidoran's mouth and prevented her from finishing out her Bite attack, she grew agitated with her foe. He was making her look bad in front of her trainer! She began to swing her paws in yet another Fury Swipes attempt. "That's it, Nidoran! Don't give an inch," Eros rooted her on, finally beginning to see something of a fighter's spirit in Nidoran. She had all the sassy any Pokemon could muster; maybe she was ready to begin contest training after all?

Tyrogue felt the scratchings of the Fury Swipe and he mentally rolled his eyes. It was as if she was just flailing around, trying anything that would maybe work. He kept holding her back as her small claws kept scratching at his body. Growling and not wanting to show any effects of being attacked, he brought up his knee toward the female Pokemon's chest as he held onto her. With any luck, she wouldn't slip out of his grips and he'd be able to continue attacking from a close range.

Huffing, getting a bit tired, Tyrogue gasped for some air as the Nidoran rolled back from his kneeing. Putting his hands on his knees, he took a breath and eyed the Nidoran. Man she was annoying. Why wouldn't she just bug off? When she came at him again, he felt the Crunch. Cringing, he tossed his shoulder, the one she was biting on, and used it as a Tackle, throwing both against the large rock. After the throw, he collapsed, too tired to continue.

Nidoran's teeth sinked into Tyrogue's purple flesh, and she applied pressure as she tried to get him to stay down. Nidoran did much better when faced with fighting other females; males tended to give her problems. (That Rivalry ability was putting a damper on things.) But she could see her nagging attacks were finally wearing him out - she just had to keep it up! And she thought she could, too, until he slammed her into the rock with yet another tackle attack.
"Are you good to continue, love?" No response to his term of endearment meant that Nidoran was really out for the count. But as it turned out, so was Tyrogue. "Must have been some recoil from that tackle into the rock," he deduced, walking over to inspect both fallen Pokemon. "You did well, Nidoran." he said with a smile before returning her to her Premier Ball.
Then, he reached into his bag and whipped out a PokeBall. It wasn't kind to leave knocked out Pokemon - babies at that - just lying around in the wild. He tossed the ball at the Tyrouge; if it captured, he'd take it. If he burst out, at least it would be awake and able to look after itself.

Picking up the caught fighting-type, Eros began to head back to his treetop dorm. He'd had enough training for today.
