Yummy Yummy
Snacks in the Arcade Wandering around with his friend Sage, Thomas looked around. This place had a lot more lights than what he was used to. He felt a bit out of place with all the city lights and such, but he must have stood out thanks to what he was wearing. A plain white shirt was half-hidden under a red button-up plaid shirt and a pair of denim jeans. Topping it off was a belt and a cowboy hat. Everyone else was decked out with punk looks, preppy looks and almost everything that was current. Thomas didn't understand fashion or anything like that. Thomas opened on of the candies he had bought while walking with Sage and he tossed the wrapper away. "Say Sage, how many licks does it take to get to the middle of a Sagey-Pop?" Thomas asked with a smile, unaware of what he had really just asked. Holding up the lickable candy, he offered it to Sage after asking his question.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: black;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] The monorail ride back to the city was rather uneventful and seemed somewhat awkward that this was the first time she actually hung out with her new friend, Thomas one on one. He was a nice guy and was funny to be around especially the fact that he seemed well—very innocent and naïve. Something she wasn’t used to dealing with though it sometimes amused her but other times, seemed to frustrate her instead. He couldn’t be that naïve right? No one could be that oblivious except maybe her Numel but that was a different issue. While she had been chit-chatting with him about mundane things, she glanced at his clothing and realized she may feel more awkward getting off the monorail. He was wearing a plain white shirt with a red button up plaid shirt over the white shirt, denim jeans, and surprisingly—brought a cowboy hat. Seriously? She shuddered at the thought of walking next to him at the city. Although she was wearing more casual clothing than what she would usually wear, his clothing was a totally different style—like a farm boy. But wasn’t he a farm boy himself. She guessed that should make sense. She on the other hand, was wearing a black tube top, white short shorts, several gold bracelets on each wrist, a tiffany golden necklace, a pair of dark beaded sandals, and a light colored loose knit crochet beret that complimented her silver-blond locks. She even had a juicy couture ‘Lucky Dot’ beach tote around her right arm. That would show the spoiled brat Claire that she had style. Although she kept her composure when Claire was insulting her, she was peeved when she insulted her style. That was forbidden territory since she worked hard to buy all those things to in her opinion, makes herself look very attractive. At least she was moving up to the Silver dorms away from that brat. She knew she had confidence and flaunted it whenever given the chance, though some may call her cocky or arrogant; she just knew how to be herself and was very confident in herself. Ever since entering the Pokemon Academy, her greatest weakest was him, her ex-boyfriend who was also a forbidden subject she didn’t want to discuss anytime soon. She wasn’t ready to bare her soul and tell much of anyone else but maybe Rai, he was her best friend. She didn’t want to admit she still had feelings for him. But the more she spend time with her friends like Rai and Thomas, she was able to forget her feelings for Laz even if only for a while. It was enough for now.
Once they got off the monorail, the sun was very bright that she had to block her face with her hand and look inside her purse to find her aviator shades to keep her eyes safe from the sun rays. Looking at Thomas, she tilted her face giving him a foxy grin and told him of all the places she had been to especially the arcade and hooked her arm around his arm dragging him toward where the arcade was located. They passed by a market, some department stores, and some rich-looking apartments but then, she twitched hearing some male teenagers whistling at her and saying things like, “Wanna give us some baby?” and “Come with us and leave that loser.” Damn it. She wasn’t looking forward to dealing with testosterone filled men or male teenagers hitting on her. She had wanted to avoid all that type of attention from the male gender. She was repeating a mantra in her head telling herself to ignore what they were saying about her. But what really pissed her off was when one of the dumbasses just had to insult her friend calling him a loser. She loathed those who offended those she cared about and Thomas was in that category. She wasn’t a person who would stand on the sidelines and let anyone insult those she was very fond of but at the same time, she didn’t want to cause a scene. She glared at the group of guys who called Thomas a loser and then toward Thomas saying reassuringly, “Don’t worry about them. They don’t matter and aren’t important alright?” She was still worried how Thomas felt about the situation of those guys insulting him. She hoped he got the message that those guys didn’t know him and thus, what they said shouldn’t matter. City boys were just so stupid sometimes though she had many guy friends from the city herself and lived in the city herself. They had their moments too thinking they were all that and sometimes arrogant so Sage had to take them down a notch at times. But she had to admit, she was like that sometimes; she couldn’t help it since friends do influence you sometimes.
After passing those irritating groups of guys, she began to notice how those bright lights of the city made her feel at home and comfortable giving her nostalgia. It made her begin to miss her own home where her family of her band mates live even though where they lived was just a small apartment. They made her feel very happy, alive, and free from her parents’ rules and restrictions. But although that, she still cared for them and sometimes wondered how they were doing. Her parents’ were the ones who taught her how to look out for herself and defend herself in the first place so she owed them for how much they cared for her enough to do all that for her. She glanced sideward toward Thomas and could see him looking at some other people on the side of the road wearing very fashionable clothing that she would consider wearing herself. She would always dress to impress, which was her daily motto. Maybe her friend was uncomfortable looking at how different his clothing was to those people and wasn’t used to the city and fashionable environment that she was accustomed to. Even if she was wrong, she reassured him, “The city isn’t a place you’ll get used to right away but stick with me Tom, I’m a born and raised city girl so you’ll be just fine.” If she was in his place where he was used to—a farm environment, she’ll probably be facing the same situation as he was at the moment. She saw him pause and go over to a store to buy candy but she wasn’t sure what he bought. She just hoped the candy he bought wasn’t overpriced since some greedy sellers would scam people who didn’t look like they were around town. She took a glance at the seller who had that foxy grin as if he was up to something and hoped Thomas didn’t waste his money on buying the candy that could have been priced at a lower price. She remembered those times she realized she had been scammed and she bitched at the sellers until they sold the objects to her at a more reasonable price than what they originally priced it at.
She took off her aviator sunglasses since the sun wasn’t as bright as before and ran her hand through her silver-blond hair straighten it up since taking off her shade had slightly made her hair messy. As she put her aviator shades into her purse she saw Thomas come back holding a newly bought candy. She was about to ask how much was the candy to make sure he wasn’t ripped off but Thomas already began talking. He asked how many licks would it take to get to the middle of a Sagey-pop. Widening her eyes at the absurdity of that question, she asked unbelievingly, “Wait wha’? What did you say?” She took a glance at the candy he offered her after asking that question and assumed the ‘Sagey-pop’ was the candy he was referring to. She had thought he was implying something sexual but that couldn’t be it since maybe he had no idea what would that usually mean. Taking the candy, she sighed inspecting the candy he had given her and told him, “Uh a lot of licks I guess? I thought you meant something else for some odd reason…” She felt somewhat awkward about that question he asked even though it was such an innocent question that she had misinterpreted. Trying to change the subject to something other than ‘licks,’ she suggested, “What do you think about going to the arcade? It’s pretty fun. Haven’t been there for a while.” She gave him a foxy grin and said, “My treat.” She grabbed his arm and smiled, “Come on. We’ll have a great time there!” Though she hoped he wouldn’t feel much more overwhelmed since they would be passing by more lights and much more people that it would be difficult to move around so they would need to work their way around other people in their way. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

As the two had walked, Tom was tempted to react to the guys as they whistled at Sage. He was very close to stopping and showing teaching them some respect, but he concluded Sage probably wouldn't want a scene caused. It was a bit annoying, but he and Sage were more mature than them, apparently, so they would keep it up. When they mentioned something about Thomas, however, the boy just smirked. At least they had stopped calling out to Sage. Thomas stayed calm and just smirked. Poor city boys. Tom half-ignored Sage's comment as well, as it sounded a lot like she was talking down to him. "This is why the country's so much better than the city. More peaceful and the guys aren't self-righteous, arrogant tools" Tom explained to his female friend as they continued walking. "That, and I don't stick out like a sore thumb in this clothing....I'm probably embarrassing to be seen with dressed like this, ain't I?" Tom joked, hoping to take their minds off the idiots.
After Thomas had bought the candy and returned to offer some to Sage, he smiled. It hadn't hit him right away exactly what he had asked. And it didn't hit him until he saw the look on Sage's face and heard her reply. His eyes widened a bit and his face went bright red. "Err...Ya, I...just figured out what I said..My bad, sorry Sage" he blushed, rubbing the back of his neck with his free arm. Soon, however, that arm was taken and he felt himself being pulled.
With a little hmm escaping him, he looked to where Sage had asked that they go. "I guess we can. Wasn't that the point of today, show me the city and stuff?" he joked. Nodding as they got closer to the lights and sounds, he blinked a few times to get adjusted to the lights and the area, it was a lot to take in. He really wasn't used to all this kind of stuff. "I think this arcade has more lights than where I'm from...." he stated. "So, um, where first?" he asked, still being pulled.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] HER HEART’S BEATIN’ LIKE A DRUM&IT’S COMING YOUR WAY The Words: 436 The Music: Last Friday Night- Katy Perry Realizing that she may have insulted her new friend, she replied hesitantly, “No it’s not that! It doesn’t matter how you’re dressed. I like hanging out with you. It doesn’t matter, you’re a great person to chill with you know?” She regained her composure and gave him a foxy grin, “I would like to see the country side sometime. It’ll nice to have you as my tour guide and show me the good spots ‘round there” as she then winked at him as if insinuating something though she wasn’t really. It was refreshing hanging out with a country guy actually. Well, hanging out with Thomas to be exact. He was pretty darn cute especially when he said things that seemed to imply something sexual but not really. She liked that innocent appeal of him even though he probably wasn’t.
She gave him a soft laugh and reassured him, “Nah, don’t worry ‘bout it. It’s alright.” It was actually pretty funny. Maybe she could use that for future purposes as in teasing him in the future if they were still friends by then. She hoped so. She felt like face palming herself in her realizing that was the whole point of this city adventure. Sage replied, “Of course. Uh arcade, let’s go Tomtom” saying jokingly. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye and saw him blinking his eyes seemingly to be in discomfort. She asked in concern, “You alright? We could go back if you want…”
He asked where she wanted to go first so she halted in thought and hummed to herself pondering of which game to play first but felt a bit indecisive about it. She wanted to play every single game in the arcade! There were many types of shooting games, card games, fighting, skateboarding, racing, horse racing, and puzzle games. She heard there was Dance Dance Revolution but she didn’t see it. She guessed it was probably in the back. Too many choices! She trailed off looking at the games, “Hmm,” and said in excitement, “DJMax Technika!” She had some experience playing the game and it was simple enough to learn in a few minutes. She smiled, “It’s a fun game!” She wasn’t sure of suggesting a shooting since she didn’t know if he would be okay with that kind of game. But suddenly she spotted a good racing game and suggested with a grin, “Know how to drive? If not, directions are in the start of the game. A great adrenaline rush!” She proceeded to give him a coin to play the game and asked him, “Wanna race me?”

With Sage's reaction, Thomas figured she was being honest. Anytime there was a hasty statement, it often meant the person was sincere, having just realized what had happened. Hell, he had done it earlier with the licking comment. But luckily, she had let it slide, which was nice of the attractive blond. It was then, though, that she mentioned touring the country. "Oh I'm sure you'd get bored. A city girl like you probably needs more entertainment than some ATV's and Rapidash's and Ponyta's...not too mention there's not as much noise as the city and the air is nicer. While that sounds like a plus, I've known a few people who can't stand that when they come out to the farm" he explained, pausing briefly. "But if you wanted to come by sometime, I'd be glad to show you around" he smiled to her after his additional part was added.
"Ya, I'm okay. Don't worry about me. Just more flashing lights than a pen full of excited Mareeps" he laughed, following Sage. He had heard the Tomtom comment, but wasn't sure how to reply to it. Maybe he'd have to come up with a nickname for her.
As soon as they entered the Arcade, Sage seemed to stop. Seeing her head twist and turn around, he figured she was indecisive of where she wanted to go first. Thomas didn't blame her, there were so many games here. When it seemed like she finally made up her mind, he felt himself being pulled along again. But then she stopped again and started pulling Tom toward a racing game instead. He laughed at her question. "Serious? Do I know how to drive? I'm a country boy, think about it Sage" he laughed, following her to the game. He paused briefly, and glanced at the shooting games. Those could be fun. "I've driven motorbikes and ATV's. I've raced Tauros' and Rapidash's....I know how to race, Sage" he laughed again, ready for the game.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] READY SET GO! Tagged: Tom, Outfit: Not posted, Music: Girls Like You When he told her that she would be bored in the country side, she shook her head in disagreement. She replied with a slight smile, “I’m actually already bored of the city life. It’ll be great to experience something new and most likely exciting. It’s so monotonous in the city, everything’s so predictable. It’ll be awesome to get away from the noisy city and think air of the city. I would love to get away from all that and breathe the clean and fresh country air and have a peace of mind for once. I’m sure that I won’t get bored there.” After that, she gratefully heard him say that he’ll show her around. She replied happily with a foxy smile, “Thanks Tom!” She was glad that Thomas was okay well as okay as he could be for a country boy but she thought that he seemed to be quite nervous a bit. It would take some getting used to with all those flashing lights around. On the other hand, she was already used to it.
Then they had entered the arcade and she had seen many games all around the room. She had Sage blinked out of pure confusion and almost slapped herself at her realization. She had suggested to play the racing game and asked him if he knew how to drive. Of course he was right. She didn’t really think about it since she was too excited being in an arcade and wanting to play the games. She apologized right after, “Ah sorry ‘bout that. Should have thought ‘bout it first.” She saw from the corner of her eye that he glanced at one of the shooting games. She made to remind herself to play one of the shooting games after. The he mentioned something about him driving motorbikes and some other things.” Her face brightened up in excitement, “I think motorbikes are hot! I’ve seen them before but never actually met a person who drove one,” she paused and smiled, “Maybe you could ride your motorbike when I visit?” She started to walk toward the game but then it was already full and two people were just beginning to race. She sighed since she really wanted to race him already. She said, "Aw and I really wanted to play that game.” But then she heard her stomach grumble and continued, “Maybe while we wait for them to finish, we could grab a bite to eat?” |
