Kenso sat out in the courtyard, something he hardly ever did. He was laying on the ground, his head resting against a tree trunk. Krabby was in his lap, and Bushou was wrapped around his neck. All three of them were snoozing.
Things had been pretty lax recently, so sleeping was the only thing that really came to their minds. There were no battles to be fought. No Pokemon to catch, either. All they did was lay around.
Kenso opened his eyes, his Pokemon still sleeping. He glanced around the courtyard, in hopes that this day would bring some excitement.

Rai just happened to to be walking through the school. He'd been here for a while now, but he never actually did officially finish the tour. "Well, at least we out of the dorm." Rai nodded with optimism in his voice. Justin, on his head of course, nodded in agreement. "Aipom." He said firmly, continuing his nods.
Strolling through the courtyard, the duo came across a boy with two pokemon. The boy seemed to be sleeping, so Rai just watched as the boy would yawn & wake up. "Aipom!" Justin scurried to the trainer, waving with its tail. "Hey, I was wondering if you would like to battle?" Rai asked, as Justin ran back to mount Rai's head.

The word "battle" woke Kenso up instantly. His eyes opened faster than lightning as he stared at the boy. "Battle, you say?"
He picked up Bushou and set him on the ground, then carefully scooted Krabby off of his lap. He dusted himself off before extending a hand to Raize. "My name's Kenso. Nice to meet you," he said.
Bushou awoke when Kenso moved him. Kenso hadn't been that excited in a while. What was up? He then saw Raize, and it hit him. That Trainer must be asking for a battle! he thought. He hoisted himself up onto his two back legs before slowly waddling over to Kenso and taking his hand for balance. "Slakoth slak!" he squeaked, just for cuteness.

"Im Rai, top coordinator! I plan on traveling the many regions, gathering as many ribbons as possible." He briefed, moving back some to make space. "Well, Justin your up!" He told his aipom. Justin walked forward, smiling at the slakoth. The sloth seemed a bit more relaxed than Justin usually was. But then again Justin was more active & hyper than relaxed, so to him everything would seem more mello than usual.
"Well, If you dont mind me starting it's our turn." Rai grinned at the boy, pointing at the sloth pokemon with a fierce stance. "Justin, lets do our best! Use double hit!" He told the monkey pokemon. Justin ran forward, and as he approached the sloth he would swing his tail at the sloth, ready to follow up with the next hit if the first struck.

Slakoth jumped out onto the field. Kenso had heard this coordinator begin with a Double Hit.
"Slakoth! Dodge and use Chip Away!" Kenso said. The Slakoth just barely avoided the attack. It faced the Aipom and raised a claw, then started to swing it down towards the monkey.
Kenso looked at the Trainer. "How's that coordinating thing workin' out for ya?" he asked.

"Its not bad. Im getting better each day." Rai told his opponent. Rai then watched the commands that followed their chat. Justin had managed to get in range, but couldnt do much as far as actually landing a hit. Though it had more experience, the range was to close. The boy's chip away had struck the aipom & knocked him back.
"Justin." Rai calmly smiled, calling the aipom's name. The purple monkey jumped to its feet & dusted itself off quickly. The little guy then waited for further instruction. "Justin, use double hit once more!" Rai exclaimed, as Justin darted forward. He swung his tail at the sloth once more. This time, he'd hopefully deal damage.

Kenso smiled, only for a second, as the Chip Away struck Raize's Aipom. The smile disappeared as soon as Double Hit was called. Bushou wouldn't have enough time to maneuver away from it, and he got hit both times.
"Bushou! Use Slack Off!" Kenso said. The Slakoth laid down on the ground and dozed off for a few seconds before getting back up.
"That's good to hear. What's it like?" Kenso asked. Kenso wasn't all that interested in Pokemon Coordination, but he figured a coordinator's point of view would be interesting to hear.

The opponent was pretty smart to use chip away, though he didnt have time to dodge. But it wasnt Rai's fault. He'd learned from quite a few battles that he has to utilize the opponents actions as well as his to help. If they use an attack, take it & throw one right back. Tho0ugh he wasnt taught this & just thought it up, it was still true & helpful.
"Use swift!" Rai demanded, having Justin leap into the air & launch multiple dazzling stars at the sloth pokemon. "Oh. Its pretty darn good. Showing off a pokemon's true style & personality through performances is so artistic & fun that I cant help but to love it!" Rai cheered for himself & his future of course. "Say, what are you here to accomplish?" He asked the opponent with a more friendly tone.

Kenso scowled. Swift always hit. The stars hit Bushou. As the Slakoth picked itself back up, Kenso thought through his Pokemon's moves.
"Hmm..... Bushou! Use Fury Swipes!" he yelled.
He looked over at Raize once more. "I dunno. I had this thought when I was younger, but now that I think about it, it's kind of dumb."

"Im sure its not. No thought is stupid." Rai assured the boy. He seemed to xbe confused about his career & future. Rai, who already knew, wanted to be nice & help him out.
"Use thunder!" Rai called out to Justin. The monkey barely charged his electric attack before launching it at the incoming sloth pokemon. Hopefully this would stun him or just deal damage.

Kenso sighed. He liked to keep this a secret. Most people always thought it was dumb. "Well. When I was little, I really wanted to become a doctor. Like, above all else. I just love the thought of helping others, y'know? Well, I got brought into the world of Pokemon later, so i thought to myself, Why not become a Pokemon Physician? By that, I mean..." he stopped for a second. This was it. He inhaled deeply, and said, "I become a doctor, but I have my Pokemon work with me."
"Like, Krabby for example," he said. "Krabby could help people through swim therapy and rehab. Or, Slakoth. Slakoth could easily be some weird form of yoga teacher. It's a dumb idea, I know. A childish dream, as some have said. But I plan on following through with it," he said.
Kenso had gotten so caught up in talking that he hadn't been able to tell Bushou to dodge. He winced. An idiot's mistake.
Bushou took a lot of damage. He glanced back at his Trainer. "Bushou! Slack Off! Then Yawn!"

"Thats not a stupid dream at all Kenso." Rai jumped to correct him. He dispised it when people didnt seem to believe in their own dreams. He disliked it even more when people would agree with those who were asshole enough to call their dreams stupid. "Its only stupid if you truly believe it is, yourself. Forget about what the others say, its your opinion that really counts!" He snapped at the boy, after his attack landed. He then stopped, realizing the harsh tone in his voice.
"Sorry Kenso...I just hate it when people down their own dreams." He admitted, trying to form a new smile. "But just like mine, your dream requires hard work. Between pokemon & medical stuff. So this battle brongs you a step closer." Rai cheerfully smiled, seeing the pokemon take its stance. After a slack ooff, Rai could honorably attack. Unfortunately a yawn attack was coming Rai's way. Well, Rai would have to rush & wrap this up.
Justin yawned, signaling the attack hit. "Nasty plot!" He told Justin, having it power itself up. The aipom focused for a bit, until its special attack was increased. "I didnt want to, but use thunder!" He told the monkey. It launched multiple lighting bolts at the sloth. Each bolt powered & charged from the nasty plot's boost.

Kenso sighed. That was it. He pulled Bushou's Pokeball off his belt and returned his Pokemon. "You put up a good fight, Buu. Good job," he said as the red beam retracted.
Kenso looked up at Rai. "Good match. Your Aipom is a baller," he said. He crouched down onto eye level with the Aipom and stuck his fist out for a fist bump.

What was this? The duo had won? Yes, they did! The attack struck head on, dealing enough damage to knock out the pokemon. The sloth was drawn back, while Justin eagerly fist bumped the boy. "Pom." It cheered, smiling. "Great battle Ken." Rai shortened his name, showing endearment. The trainer grinned. With this win, Justin was even stronger! "That was awesome Ken!" He continued to smile, thanking the trainer for a great battle. Justin on the other hand, had fallen asleep on the ground. "Well, we should be going. See you around some time!" Rai told Kenso, returning Justin to his pokeball & leaving the scene.
