Rixie lifted her face against the breeze and let it play through her hair. She shivered happily and said, turning to Slate, "I was right! A quick trip to the beach is just what I needed to relax, and I'm sure it'll help all of us." She turned away for a moment, reaching into her pocket with her left hand and drawing out two more pokeballs, "Sparky! Petal! Come on out!"
The two small pokemon appeared onto the Rhyhorn's strong, sturdy back with a flash of brilliant light. Petal giggled as Rixie picked her up. She smiled at the young Oddish, "Do you still have your Miracle Seed?" Petal nodded happily and showed it to Rixie. A gift from the breeding class, who wielded a gift from the battle class. Life at the Academy was quite good.
Rixie turned back to look at the sea and said, her voice nearly lost in a sudden gust of wind, "What do you say we all hang out, relax, and maybe look around and see if we can find a new friend?" Sparky excitedly jumped into the air and immediately set off without even allowing her time to respond. She merely grinned at the energetic Emolga and followed him along the shore, keeping her eyes watchful for any wild pokemon.

--- "CORP! CORPCORPCORPCORP!" said a Corphish as it ran past Rixie and her group. His claws were up high, and above his head was a Magikarp. His claws were open, and slightly squeezing so the flopping Pokemon wouldn't get out of his grasps. And as he ran, he came closer to the shore, which wasn't far from Rixie and her crew. He then proceeded to throw the flopping Pokemon in the water, where a Tirtouga proceeded to use Water Gun on it as she pushed the useless fish into the water further and further. It appeared as if the two had just saved the Magikarp's little life. --- Options:A) Sit and watch B) KILL EVERYTHING C) Go see if they'd like some help D) Get your tan on

Rixie hurried over, Petal jumping down from Slate's back, happily hopping through the sand after her trainer. "Is there any way I can help you?" She hoped they'd understand her intention. She held her hands out in front of her to show that she didn't have any weapons or anything to harm them, and she knelt down so that she was closer to their eye levels. Unable to hold back a smile, she pulled her tunic-like shirt off over her head and started to slip out of her long pants before wading into the water to see if they needed help. And if they didn't, then maybe they'd be willing to play.

"Tirt tirt" the Tirtouga replied to the young girl as she neared and asked if she could help. She had also shook her head at the young trainer, to show that they were fine. The Corphish on the other hand, didn't seem to agree when he caught a glimpse of Rixie. He watched as she bent down to be at their level, and he quickly scuttled backwards. And when she proceeded to get somewhat undressed, he backed up further into the water and somewhat ducked his head under the water.
He had felt his face go a bit red, well, redder than usual, and he knew he was blushing. "C-Corp" it stuttered to itself shyly. It seemed as if the Corphish had a bit of a shy liking toward Rix, one that Tirtouga had noticed. But she politely stayed quiet on the issue. Tirtouga wasn't much for getting out of the water, but when she noticed the girls team, and that none seemed very water-friendly, she brought herself onto the sand and greeted the three Pokemon. Corphish, however, was too busy trying to distract himself from the cute trainer by pushing the Magikarp out further.

Rixie smiled gratefully at the Tirtouga. Slate would never go out into the water. He hated water. Oddish and Emolga might not mind though. Slate walked up to the Tirtouga and gently rubbed his muzzle against her's in a gesture of friendship. "You really like the water? Doesn't it scare you?" he asked, eyes wide. The rocky surface of the turtle pokemon's shell was beautiful. It somehow reminded him of Shrub's eyes. Sparky happily let out a little, "Emo!" and glided in a circle around the Magikarp, asking it to play. He tossed a small pebble towards the fish, curious to see how the Magikarp would respond, if it even understood what play was. Petal happily started to play in surf that came onto the shore, squealing with delight when it she successfully dodged.
Scolding Sparky, Rixie called, "Don't you go throwing pebbles at pokemon until they tell you if they're willing to play or not. You should be more polite." Then she turned to the Corphish. Confused, Rixie waded a little closer to where the Corphish had disappeared, "Hey there sweetie there's no reason to be afraid. Look, I'm not going to hurt you." She reached out into the water, gently stroking the Corphish under the chin and along his back. She wasn't sure how much Corphishes enjoyed being pet, but she knew quite a bit about massage therapy from her mother, who had been a nurse's assisstant back at home. A sudden, larger-than-most wave washed up over her and she gasped. It felt cold against her chest.

The Tirouga looked at Slate and gave him a quizzical look. "Obviously not, if I had just come from there" she replied, brushing a flipper over his horn. She proceeded to look around and she then rested on the soft sand. While she rested, she amused herself by watching the Oddish. It was a cute little thing.
The Magikarp felt the rock hit its head and he began to flop around in the water frantically. "KARPKARP! MAGIKARP!" it shouted and flailed around more. It dove into the water and began swimming off, scared of the Emogla. The Corphish, however, didn't noticed what was going on, as he was too busy trying to hide his shyness from the trainer. And when she began to pet him, he felt himself wanting to sink into the water to hide more. "Cooorp" he blushed as the wave crashed up. When he saw he water hit the girls chest, he dove under the water. He was far too nervous now. He didn't wait to see the result of the coldness would have on her chest, instead he rushed to the shore and tried to preoccupy himself.

Slate's eyes opened wide as the Tirtouga brushed against his horn. He froze, remembering how Shrub had done just the same when they first met, running her leaves over his muzzle and brushing against him. He stared with a mixture of astonishment and happiness at her. When Petal had been born, he thought that maybe she had been sent to replace the loneliness that Shrub had left, and that he was destinied to be with an Oddish after all. But now, he realized that maybe he'd been wrong. As she turned away and laid down in the sand, he felt his heart thumping. After a few moments of silence, he followed and slowly lay down near her. He was careful to remain courteous, and give her space if she wanted it, but at the same time wanted to make sure she could see that he wanted to be friends. He watched Petal, who squealed and ran backwards away from the semi-large wave. She went careening right into his front claws, and he gently nudged her back to her feet. After a happy bounce and a twirl, she went running back towards the waves to continue playing in the salty spray.
Rixie turned disapprovingly towards Sparky. "I told you not to play so rough with someone you don't even know yet!" His sad, disappointed look melted her heart though, and she called, "Come here," offering her open arms to him. Quickly brightening up, he glided over to her and into her arms, not minding the wet under-garments that she was wearing. She turned, looking for the Corphish, and saw that he was on the shore. Shivering a little as goose bumps began to rise on her body and arms, she waded back to the sand. This time, she kept a little distance away, still holding Sparky, and called out to it, "What's the matter? There's no need to be shy. Do you want to play?"
At the mention of play, Sparky began to squirm, "Yeah! Let's play!" He burst out of Rixie's arms and glided over to the Corphish, excitedly jumping around it. "Come on! It'll be fun! Rixie Trixie always plays with her pokemon however they want to! And it's always so much fun! This one time we played tag and she hid in a tree but I got her with a jolt of electricity. It was so much fun! You gotta play, let's play!" he chittered excitedly, still jumping up and down.

The Tirtouga gave the Ryhorn a little look when he came closer to her. She mentally shrugged. She didn't mind that he was now closer to him, but she wasn't looking for anything, despite what the other Pokemon might have thought. Tirtouga continued watching the Oddish, and when the large wave came up, she herself sprung up. But luckily, the little Grass type was okay. Tirtouga got up from her spot and she rushed ahead to the Oddish to make sure she was okay. "You okay little one? Would you like a ride on my back so you can go out a bit further?" she asked the Oddish.
The Corphish, however, tried to keep his composure, but wasn't doing very well. He glanced up to Sparky, and shuffled his feet nervously. "I-I can't. How can you be so eneretic around...her? Aren't you afraid you'll embarrass yourself and she wont like you?" he stated nervously to Sparky, looking shyly toward Rixie.

Slate felt a small disappointment flicker across his mind, but he was not too bothered. He could not have expected much more. She was beautiful, elegant, and of a different egg group. It seemed to him that not many pokemon were all that interested in those of a different egg group, at least from his experience.
Petal looked up quizzically at the Tirtouga. "O, odd?" she questioned. "No?" She took a long look at the Rhyhorn, who was now looking somewhat concerned. His liking for the Tirtouga was not greater than his fatherly care for Petal, and he was a bit worried that the Tirtouga might accidentally hurt the fragile Oddish. "You should talk to Slate more!" she said eagerly. "He's really big so some are scared of him, but he's actually a big softie inside." Petal giggled and waved her leaves at the Rhyhorn.
Sparky laughed and grabbed Corphish's claw, "Of course not, silly! Rixie Trixie would never get mad at me! Or Slate! Or Petal! Or any pokemon probably. She just laughs and hugs us usually. Come on! Let's go play tag with her! Or hide-and-seek! That's fun too! We pretty much start doing whatever we want and she'll join in. It's great!" Rixie smiled, and beckoned encouragingly towards them.

"I'm not scared of him little one. Something tells me I could make him do anything I'd want with the slightest move of my fin if I wanted...but I'm not that kind of Tirtouga" she whispered to the little Oddish. Patting her softly on her leaves, the Tirtouga dragged herself back to Slate. She looked Slate over again, the patted his horn again with her fin/flipper. "The Oddish says I should talk to you, so here I am, amuse me" she stated, taking her spot back beside him.
The Corphish looked at his pincer, then up to the Emogla. It didn't budge, but stayed put instead. He shook his head, embarrassed. "I-I'll just stay here. I'm okay staying put...m-maybe later. Maybe, if I get to know here better. You think she'd want someone like me on her team?" he asked, sitting on the sand.

The Oddish resumed playing in the waves, enjoying dodging out of the way just in time. Slate looked curiously over to the Tirtouga. He was nervous that whatever he said might bore her, or offend her. He supposed that he could try to, as she said, amuse her... with what? Jokes? That hardly seemed like the answer. After a second or two of silence he said, "The Oddish, as you call her, hatched not long ago. She's very outspoken. I'm sorry if she said anything to offend you."
He twisted his heavy body around to look at the Tirtouga, "I was born at the academy... Being given to a trainer as a starter pokemon and going on to raise and be raised, train and be trained... Petal is sort of like me, born in the academy and all... whereas Sparky..." he glanced at the Emolga who was bouncing around the Corphish gleefully. "Well Sparky does whatever he wants even after joining the team. He's so absent-minded I'm not sure he's ever even realized that he's not a wild pokemon anymore. You... What about you?" Slate added, turning to gaze into her eyes.
The Emolga half groaned, "Come ooooon you worry wart let's just goooo...! The best way to get to know her is to play! Why do you think she wouldn't want somebody like you on the team, huh? Only reason right now would be cause she thinks ya don't like her or somethin'. Avoidin' her and everythin'. " Cajoling and still tugging on the Corphish's pincer, Sparky attempted to drag the Corphish towards his trainer. Rixie just watched with growing concern. "Sparky," she called, "maybe he's feeling shy right now. Perhaps you should give him a little space." The Emolga sent up a little flurry of sparks in indignation, refusing to listen until the Corphish came with him. "Come on..." he said again, "Just trust me. Rixie Trixie is a nice person. You don't need to worry 'bout it. If ya don't at least come and say hi to her then she'll assume you'd rather not have anythin' to do with her."

The Tirtouga listened and listened. She was used to hearing tales. They were the one thing she truly enjoyed. "No, she didn't offend me. Just caught me by surprise is all" she replied, going back to listening once more. She closed her eyes and nodded to the story. It certainly was a different story than any that she had ever heard. "I think I'd much rather feel as Spark does then you or the Oddish, sorry to say. I don't know how I'd do being part of a team like that. Corphish is enough to look after, and at least with being wild, we don't have to listen to any rules" she replied with a light-hearted sigh. She really didn't know how she'd do couped up to a single person, or, well, trainer. She much preferred being free, despite he lax nature.
The Corphish stayed feeling shy and felt himself blush as the trainer started talking again. This had taken his mind away from the Emolga enough that he lost his concentration and lost his footing. Tripping over his own claw/feet as he was pulled, the Corphish went toward Rixie. Stopping by her, his claws were extended beyond her body. Blushing, he lifted his claws, and one went behind his head, rubbing his neck. Only thing was, on that claw happened to be her bra. Her bra had accidentally gotten caught when his claws went past her body and lifted and ripped it off of her when he raised them. Opening his eyes, his red face went even redder, noticing what had happened. "C-C-Co-Corp...h-hish" it stuttered, feeling very bad for what it had just done.

Slate's gaze dropped, a bit disappointedly, to the sand. He moved his heavy foot through it, watching each individual grain become disturbed, then settle again, in an entire new pattern. A pattern that changed with every tiny movement that he made. "In a way," he said slowly, "I could see the... charm... behind living without a trainer. But you know, it's not all about having to look after others... We'd be here to look after you too, if you needed it. I suppose I'm lucky to have gone to Rixie. I don't think she really... has rules for us. Except for Sparky. He's not allowed to have too much sugar in one day. For obvious reasons." He turned to glance at Sparky, making sure that Rixie didn't need his help controlling the energetic Emolga, and then back to Petal. His watchful eye careful for her even as he carried on the conversation with the Tirtouga. "It really isn't all as bad as you might think. Food, hugs, someone to listen to your troubles with no bias... And don't worry about being cooped up in the pokeball. She pretty much lets us out whenever we want." He suddenly paused, and blinked apologetically at her, "I'm sorry. I-I guess that I've been talking as if... as if..." He trailed off, unable to bring himself to say "as if you'd already agreed to give us a try".
Rixie gasped as the claw caught her bra and practically tore it. "Oh," she blinked after a moment, "I, um, well... This is embarrassing." She covered her chest with her arms, and giggled, as if nothing had happened, "I guess we'd better be more careful with those claws of yours, hm? Why don't you and Sparky start the game? In fact, you should invite your Tirtouga friend and Slate and Petal if they want to play too. They all look pretty relaxed, but at least ask them, mkay? I'll... I'll be right back." She moved over towards where she had dumped her clothes and began putting her shirt back on.
"Oh, I get it," Sparky snickered at the Corphish. "You like her! Ooh, Corphish li-ikes Rixie, Corphish li-ikes Rixie!" he chanted. He danced around, crowing triumphantly, before ducking away in case the Corphish lashed out. Laughing, he called over his shoulder, "Well, come on, let's go see what everybody else thinks about playing. Or would you rather it just be you and Riiiixiie?"

Tirtouga listened and didn't say much back to Slate. In fact, she didn't say anything. She didn't know what to say, or if she wanted to say anything. He was trying to explain himself, and what he had said, and now Tirtouga was getting bored. She liked stories, but not discussions. She'd rather hear a nice story and be entertained rather than have something turn into an argument/discussion of personal views. If she was lucky, her silence would end this little conversation and show her sudden boredom.
Corphish couldn't say or do anything. Even when the girl left and the Emolga started his teasing, he didn't do anything. He was too embarrassed. He just looked to the Emolga and quickly scuttled over to the Tirtouga. "I-I...T-Tirtouga, I took the girls cloths off by accident" he blushed and hid beside her. Tirtouga just patted him on his head and let out a sigh.

Slate hugged anxiously. It seemed that he was losing her interest again. He awkwardly fell silent and resorted to watching Sparky teasing the poor Corphish. He frowned at the energetic Emola. That was hardly a way to make friends. He sighed quietly before turning and noticing that they were now on their way towards him and the Tirtouga. Luckily he was spared the difficulty of finding something to say when the Corphish explained what was going on. He merely raised where his eyebrows ought to be. Sparky ran around, laughing hysterically. Petal came over slowly.
"Sparky? What'd they say?" Rixie showed up behind them, shrugging her shirt to try to make it stop sticking to her as she was still a bit wet from getting splashed by the large wave. She found that all the pokemon were gathered together, and she cocked her head curiously. "What's going on?" Sparky immediately jumped up to her, snatched a pokeball out of her pocket, and threw it nonchalantly at the Corphish. "Catch! If you wanna be with Rixie Trixie that is..." he said cheekily, grinning from ear to ear.
Rixie gasped and lunged forwards, grabbing the pokeball. "Bad Sparky! You don't just go throwing these around, you know!" she frowned at the Emolga. Nonetheless, she turned to the Corphish, a kind smile forming on her face, "It seems Sparky really likes you. Would you like to join the team?" She offered the pokeball to Corphish, giving him the option. "Of course I would never seperate you from your friend," she said, nodding towards Tirtouga. "I'd be honored to be your trainer."

The Corphish looked at the ball as it flew at him. He glaced at it, then to the flying squirrle. He blinked a few times, then looked to the now clothed girl. He scuttled and shuffled his feet, then picked up the ball he had easily avoided. Taking it in his claws, he brought it back to the girl and nodded. "C-Corp" he told her, dropping the ball in her hands. He would join her, and he hoped Tirtouga would too.
Tirtouga looked around and let out a small sigh. She didn't want a trainer, but she didn't want to leave her friend. She would hurt the Rhyhorn too much in a fight, be hurt too bad by the Oddish, and she would crush the Emolga as well. With a second sigh, she nodded and agreed to join as well, if only to keep an eye on Corphish.

"Thank you..." Rixie said, dark green eyes full of emotion. "...for giving me, no... for giving us, a chance..." She knelt down beside the Corphish, and held up the pokeball, gently pressing it against him before he disappeared into the ball. After a moment, in which he would be pulled into the pokeball, she turned to the Tirtouga, and offered the ball to her. By her heavy sighs, she could tell that the only reason she was joining was probably because she wanted to stay with the Corphish. She vowed silently to herself, as she let the pokeball drop sit in front of the Tirtouga, that she would make sure no harm came to either of them. Not under her watch.

CONGRATS! You've caught a Shy natured Corphish. He has the Shell Amour ability. He is a very loyal and determined guy, but he turns shy and embarrassed around his female trainer who he has a crush on.
The Tirtouga has a Relaxed nature. She enjoys stories and is actually quite old for a Base-staged Pokemon. She is Corphish's best friend and will protect him even if it hurts her. She has the Solid Rock ability.
