All it is, is another stepping stone. Just something else to do before I could go out there as a trainer.
Scirocco rubbed her eyes, pausing to open the great big doors to the labratory. In there laid her future, her past finally disappearing before her eyes. With a great big shove, she opened the doors and walked into the room, her eyes taking in everything that was to be seen. With the appearance of a shadow she stopped.
"Hello?"

A hollow voice called out from the side of the room. If Scirocco were to turn, she'd see a tall white-haired man wearing nothing but the color of alabaster. His eyes were vivid, yet cold and uncaring as if Scirocco's exam annoyed him. And considering the amount of new students the Academy was receiving, that was probably correct. "Follow." He ordered her firmly. The instructor stepped into a large, arena-like room where the exam would be held. He pulled a tray of pokeballs into his arms from a table set to the side in the room and held them out towards the young lady. "Pick one and send it out. I'll be your opponent. I suggest you take this test seriously, otherwise you'll end up in a below average dorm." Yang told her. He positioned himself at the other side of the field and sent out his Pokemon, his expression un-changing. "You may begin first." He told her. If Scirocco were to send out her Pokemon, her's would be the one as shown on the right while Yang's would be to the far left of the area. VS Yang : Klinklang Scirocco : Muk[/ul]

Follow.
Scirocco raised one eyebrow high as she followed the extraordinarily pale man into the arena. She examined him from the back, observing his behaviour.
He must be sick of all these new students. Who can blame him? I rather just get this over with too.
She approached the tray that he held out for her and held the pokeball in her hand, feeling the weight of it. With a flick of her wrist she cast it downwards and watched it open.
Oh.. great.
A poison pokemon. Something she had absolutely no clue about.
The great purple goo-monster let out a squidgy roar.
"Muk,"she commanded. "Harden, then use pound!"
The sludge monster hardened with a bit of light, then slid across the ground, heading straight towards Klinklang.

Yang called out towards the steel-type. He couldn't say he really enjoyed working with it... The very sight of it... Well, it disturbed him, to say the least. "Take the pound attack. It shouldn't do all that much to you..." He murmured. Klingklang used Autotomize, increasing it's speed a couple stages while Muk rose it's defense. When the sludgey Pokemon hurled itself into the steel-type. Klingklang simply slid back a few paces. It blinked rather tracelessly towards Muk before charging up a stream of electricity and sending it towards the opposing Pokemon. Ooc: Forgot to mention that you can use any move your Pokemon can learn naturally. This does not include egg moves, and most certainly not TMs.[/ul]

Muk took the electric charge with hardly any effect, as it was grounded in its sludgy goo self.
Well this is going to be a difficult enough battle to win. Scirocco scanned the pokemon in front of her. Pound was obviously useless against this.
"Muk, use harden again." The pokemon did just that.
Scirocco sighed and closed her eyes, envisioning the best strategy.
"Now Muk, screech! Then hit it with disable!"
The sludgy pokemon opened its mouth wide, emitting a noise no person should ever hear, then hurled itself once again at the electric pokemon.

Yang commanded. Klingklang seemed to be annoyed by the screech attack. However, he was only a gear... And it didn't take a scientist to tell someone that gears didn't have ears. Klingklang's odd eyes narrowed as Muk went rushing towards it. It locked onto it's target, ensuring the attack would hit, before firing a massive beam with intense attack power over towards the bundle of purple sludge.[/ul]

Muk was in a really bad position. The hyper beam was hurling straight towards it. Oh god, what do I do?!
Dodge, Muk!
But it was too late. The hyper beam hit, and even with its defences raised, Muk was hurled back almost straight towards Scirocco and collapsed into a puddle at her feet. She took a look at Yang and then back at the Pokemon in front of her.
Poison types.
She tried again.
Muk... Muk?! Um um... sludge, use sludge!
But Muk was nearly too dazed to follow orders and in a few minutes, it hurled a less than thrilling ball of sludge at the electric type.

Yang spoke silently. "You're obviously at a disadvantage."[/ul]

Scirocco bit her lip, her eyes scanning the field. How could she end up with such a shitty combination. She shook her head vigorously and then watched as Muk literally keeled over- though it was hard to tell. Why put him through another attack?
"Yang? I fold. I'm not gonna get anywhere with this, this Pokemon isn't efficient to take down an electric type."
Scirocco sighed and returned Muk to his pokeball.
"I guess I'll take whatever that gets me."

He spoke, a small smile lifting across his lips as he stepped into the other room for a few brief seconds before coming out with three different pokeballs and a yellow phone strap and bracelet. "If Yin asked, you beat me." He told her silently. "Please pick one of the three Pokemon. They will accompany you on your journey and be your partner. Your dorm will be at the forest, so don't get into trouble on your way there." He told her. Choices: [/ul]

Yellow Dorm.
Scirocco's eyes opened wide. No freaking way. An enormous grin spread across her features.
"Thanks Yang, for sure, I'll tell Yin if he asks. I'll take Muk though," she grabbed the pokeball with him inside.
"I know that I could definitely improve with him. Thanks so much!" She flashed her ebst smile towards him, then turned across the room, still cradling the pokeball in her hand.
With a nod she stepped through the threshold, towards the forest, intent on continuing her journey.
