[I will catch a Pokemon!]
"Dark, dark is good ohkay.... ohkay I'm sure, I'm just climbing a mountainside.... at night.... in the dark.... w-why didn't I invite Coralie? ....... because bringing the girl you like up a dangerous mountside at night isn't the best idea... I'm good, I'm cool, nothing to worry about.... the shadows are just... mind playing tricks...." Tyler rambled to himself, glad there was a full moon and clear sky... the moon's reflection and his adjustment to the dark meant he could actually see pretty well, given it was later in the evening. However, poor Tyler was quite jumpy, having... issues with being alone on a mountainside... he didn't want to just walk off some cliff and never be seen again!

<Mod Post>
Ooh, it's dark and cold here, isn't it? A night-time trek through Mt. Sunrise is always fun, considering the vast amount of sleeping Pokemon throughout the night, there might be an easy catch here or there.
...or there might be red-dorm students more than welcome to mug you. Who knows?
"Hooot! Hoo Hooo! Hoooo!" The cries of several Hoothoots hidden in tree echo through the area, the sad chirp of the Kricketots further adding to the eerie mood.
Tyler will enter the trail a scared little boy, but will return home still a scared little boy with strangely wet pants, that is, if he is able to return.
Decision time, is it a good idea to continue on, is it a better idea to search the trees around, the Hoothoots just might be an easy catch, or maybe it's best to turn 360 degrees and walk away?
</Mod Post>
- ["I'm... not scared... I'm... not scared..."] (Go on through the trail, what's the worst that could happen?) - ["Hoot! Hooo! Hooo!"] (Approach the hooting Hoothoots.) - ["I want my mommyyyyy!"] (Go home)

Tyler whipped his sorry excuse for a torch around in his hand, it currently shut off and projecting no light. He took it along given.... he didn't really want to die, he rather enjoyed life especially now that his future had the tiny hope of getting laid later down the line. He didn't turn it on yet, not wanting to spook anything out there, relising there were Hoothoot's about, he was pretty sure... but he wasn't really interested in catching any old Hoothoot.... trying to relax himself by thinking calming sexy purple hair-twirlie related thoughts, he continued on, ready to move down the trail even further.

Floating through the sky was a Drifloon. And, upon noticing Tyler, it probably would have grinned if it had a mouth. See, this was a very dark and twisted Drifloon, who dreamed of taking over the world, and it wasted to time in launching a blast of wind at Tyler the moment he saw him. Despite it's somewhat cute appearance, this Pokemon was out for blood!
------------------- Post Summary - An ax-crazy Drifloon has appeared, and it's attacking with a Gust. What will you do?

Tyler was pretty badly startled when he glanced up into the sky, only to notice.... something up there glancing back down... and lucky he had looked up, since a barely-visible blast of wind was headed his way! Unable to dodge it very well (where on earth could someone jump aside on this pathway?!), Tyler was sent sprawling, groaning and rather sure he'd bruised the side of his torso... and he was sure he hadn't done anything wrong!
"W-What was that for?!" he whined, struggling to get back up before he could get attacked again: fumbling through his Pokeballs two snapped open, his Ferroseed, Titan, bursting out in a flash of light, as well as Moku, his Wooper (and starter).
Did you just seriously attack my trainer? Douchebag! Moku growled, blasting a Water Gun up a floating Driftloon, while Titan shared the sentiment and launched his own, albiet quite weak, Mirror Shot up at the too-high-for-psychical-moves Ghost/Flying. Not the best positioning for either of Tyler's Pokemon, but they had to use what position they had to defend their trainer.
[dice=10]
If I roll a 1-3 and Mirror Shot hits, Driftloon's accuarcy will be lowered.

The Drifloon effortlessly floated to the side to avoid the Water Gun, only to end up being too distracted with it to avoid the Mirror Shot. The attack hit it dead on, and it stunned the ghost-balloon for a couple seconds. The Pokemon shook itself off, though...it was far from defeated. Raising each of its string-like arms, pitch-black orbs of ghostly energy began to form at the tip of each one. One meant for the Wooper, and one meant for the Ferroseed. With a quick whip-like motion, he launched each orb at the two Pokemon
------------ Post Summary - The Drifloon used Shadow Ball twice; one aim at each of Tyler's Pokemon! You've definitely got its attention now.

"Moku, Mud Bomb to counter it then... Rain Dance and Yawn! Titan, Pin Missile then... Curse?" Tyler admitted to himself he was not on good ground here, especially with the up-close-and-personal reliant Titan, who had next to nil ranged ability.
Both his more-veteran Pokemon obeyed, blasting their attacks up against the approaching Shadow Balls, attempting to counter them in an explosive meeting in midair (Moku's had a far better chance at success, however, Titan's was a gamble of Tyler's end). Once the moves had succeeded or failed their intent, Moku danced about a little, summoning rain to start drizzling down, softly at first then steadily harder (Tyler only then relising what a stupid idea that was, given he was soaked), and then Yawning up into the sky at the offensive Driftloon; the Yawn move sending a multitude of floating bubbles upward... if any hit the Driftloon, it would find itself exceptionally drowzy all of a sudden.
Titan, again, struggled to hit an airborne target. His success countering the Shadow Ball was entirely dependant on how well his Pin Missile worked, while Curse was a no brainer: doing so simply raised and lowered stats as per normal... sadly, Special Defense wasn't one of the ones altered so he'd take the same damage if the Shadow Ball came through.
[dice=4]
Pin Missile strikes multiple times, the dice result +1 equals how many Pin Missile's are launched. This move is directed at countering the Shadow Ball move only.

Both of the Shadow Balls were countered (the one aimed at the Ferroseed just barely), which made the Drifloon rather angry. Of course, he was already angry. Just...now, he's even angrier. Swooping down, he set his sights on the Pokemon he deemed to be the bigger risk...the Wooper. Flying down to get in closer, he immediately made an attempt to wrap its arms around the Wooper and give it a tight squeeze. Then, while he was still close, he unleashed another blast of wind
----------------- Post Summary - The wild Drifloon used Constrict, followed by Gust!

"No Moku, look out!" Tyler cried out a warning too late, the Driftloon tighting it's hold on his starter as the Wooper struggled to fight it off, unable to avoid the point-blank Gust sending him slamming back into a tree painfully. Even without his trainer's direction Titan acted (a lot out of aggression for being unable to fight effectively), hurling itself towards the Driftloon with a Payback attack. As a Dark-type move it would deal nasty damage, even without the double-bonus had Titan been hit before using the move. Moku was recovering slowly, trying to get back in the battle but winded...

The Drifloon is struck by the Payback having been caught off-guard since he had been focusing on the Wooper. Glaring at the Ferroseed, he unleashed a blast of wind...only this one was laced with a ghostly energy. Whether or not the attack hit, he immediately followed by launching a pitch-black ball of energy at the spiky Pokemon. Needless to say, he was not amused...and he was beginning to slow down a little.
------------ Post Summary - The wild Drifloon used Ominous Wind, followed by a Shadow Ball. Both are aimed at the Ferroseed.
[dice=10] "If the die lands on 1, all of the Drifloon's stats (excluding Accuracy and Evasion) will increase due to the effects of Ominous Wind"
[dice=10] "If the die land on 1 or 2, the Ferroseed's Special Defense will be lowered if Shadow Ball hits"

"Titan, just endure it! I know you can handle it!" Ty commanded, little other choice available: Titan was far too close to dodge had he been fast, and too immobile to really.... even attempt dodging anyway. Not without using a move as a means to escape and all. Confident in his strength, Titan was buffered by the Omninous Wind then smashed as the Shadow Ball blasted him, sending his form rolling back aways. With his Ghost-resistance from his Steel/Grass typing, he came out relatively okay, but was still feeling the hurt by now.
Then something odd happened... the Driftloon's eyes closed and it's little arms went limp, like it had.... fainted in midair or something. No, wait! Yawn! It had finally worked for once!*
"Moku, are you okay?"
"Woop!"
"Alright, then use Muddy Water and let's show him how to really hurt! Titan, just use Ingrain to recover a bit!" Ty ordered, more confident now. With the Driftloon pratically a floating target, and Rain Dance still in effect for a few more turns, Moku launching the Muddy Water (whether it's launched like Hydro Pump, or a wave like Surf is up to you; I've seen both used here =/) should've done some nasty damage, should it connect.
[dice=10] Muddy Water has a 30% chance to lower accuarcy, a 1-3 will lower accuarcy if Muddy Water hits. OOC: *Adriel said Yawn worked after those attacks were launched, can edit if need be.[rand=74871026707831069998032514720341081945443987672782730465076812522]

The sleeping Drifloon was helpless as the Muddy Water struck, throwing it around like a rag doll before he hit the ground in a rather painful manner. And yet, he still slept.
---------- Post Summary - The wild Drifloon is fast asleep, and therefore unable to battle.

The Rain Dance was starting to wear off as the downpour began to subside to a light drizzle, Tyler well aware they were running out of time... both for boosted Water moves, and that the Driftloon would surely awaken soon enough.
"Moku, Titan, we need to end this before it can wake up! Muddy Water again, and Titan, disconnect from your roots and Gyro Ball!"
Not wanting to fight this thing for an extended match either, his team obeyed: Moku essentially repeating his last action as the last of the Rain Dance subsided completely, his boost to Water moves now gone, while Titan removed his Ingrain roots from the ground to use Gyro Ball. A rapidly spinning tackle, the spin speed and thus damage were determined by how slow Titan was compared to the target... and as the Driftloon has 70 base speed to Titan's pathetic base 10, it was likely to be a pretty solid hit. At least, Tyler hoped so...
[dice=10] Moku's second Muddy Water also has a 30% chance to reduce accuarcy if it hits and I get a 1-3.[rand=1322335060885692664074534875159520334975275451969159293864562086129]

Both of the attacks landed, throwing the Drifloon back a bit. His eyes started to open, and he woke up...only to collapse from his injuries. He was down for the count. However, as he fell, a sudden burst of energy erupted from his body, striking both of Tyler's Pokemon...in a weak attempt to take the opponent down with him, his Ability, Aftermath, had activated.
------------- The wild Drifloon has been defeated! All you need to do now is throw a Poke Ball and he's as good as yours!
Drifloon Name: up to the trainer Gender: Male Type: Ghost/Flying Ability: Aftermath Nature: This Drifloon wants nothing short of taking over the world and becoming its ruler. As such he is ruthless in battle, and will not hold back against even the weakest of opponents. He also constantly plots to kill Tyler, but never goes through with his plans due to a grudging respect for him...after all, he is the first person to ever defeat him in battle. Either way, his cute and small body makes it rather hard to take his ambitions seriously, which annoys him to no end.

Alright, I knew they could do it.... what the heck is that?! Ty thought, stepping back a pace as some kind of energy burst forth from the Driftloon's body, striking both his Pokemon. Titan managed to weather it, just barely, but the already quite weakened Moku was thrown back and fainted by the Aftermath, wiping 1/4 of his lowered health and enough to knock him out completely.
"No, Moku! I'm sorry buddy, you did good... return. You too Titan, the Driftloon's done" Tyler sighed, returning both of his Pokemon to their Pokeballs for a well earned rest. He glanced back at the fainted Driftloon in front of him... it wasn't something he could pass up, even if it was.... how would you describe it? Deceptively aggressive?
"Let's hope you settle down a bit...." he muttered, hurling a Pokeball at the Driftloon, the red energy drawn inside without much a hassle.... picking up the ball containing his newest Pokemon, it finally dawned on Tyler just how soaked by the rain he'd gotten. Completely. Shivering, he decided now was the best time to leave, moving to decend down the mountainside and get to his dorm, and out of these wet clothes...
*wink*
