She were going hiking with Lazarus, a kind of hot guy. He seemed like the oblivious type when it came to women, the kind of guy that could have a fan-club of women and never notice. Of course Yumiko would never think of herself among such a crowd. She liked the guy, he was cool, but nothing more than that. Hell she didn't even know if her mother would approve if she allowed her mind to be clouded by such unnecessary things, especially considering that feelings for a man and unprotected sex had been what had unfortunately pulled her mother out of a growing career.
There were just one little thing Laz had forgotten to mention. And that was where they were going. The blizzard cave, it housed a variety of ice Pokemon, however it also were quite cold. And her choice of clothing were certainly not picked for this destination. She knew she should have taken a pair of jeans on instead of a skirt. She'd have to make do with what she had for she would stubbornly refuse to go back for a trivial thing such as a change of clothing. "Well, I guess you will have to go first?" She stated questioning, the plan were to walk all the way through, and hopefully not freeze to death on the way. Besides her were Aipom as usually. His purple fur protected him somewhat from the cold, but even he was freezing.
"You know the way through, right?" Yumiko asked, her arms crossed over her chest as she looked into the entrance. Oh, she was not looking forwards to the many hours of walking through that, the good thing about this were that she could spend time with Laz, for better or for worse. She shook her head slightly making it look like she was shaking the cold out, however she was simply trying to get the 'thoughts' out.

Laz muttered below his breath, not that it would have mattered as an offensive gust of below room temperature air decided to slap his face which obviously caused him to reflexively wipe his face with his hand, trying to clear the stinging cold. The black wooly gloves had managed to give him enough support to at least help him handle the unforgiving cold, they also made for great wipers if water ever got on his face and he needed to clean it. Stretching the fabric with his taut muscles, the red head tried to trudge through the snow layered ground with as much nimbleness as he could. Light as a feather and all that.
When you're above average in height and actually have weight, being as light as a feather becomes a moot point.
Crashing his legs down on the ground, Laz made an actual effort to get through the hazardous frozen water flakes as he hiked all the way up to one of the many ominous and looming mouths of this cave. Sometimes, Laz wondered if this was just a giant ice monster sleeping but it had too many mouths...must've been a hungry bitch most of the time anyway. With a shrug of his shoulders, seeing as he was a bit nearer this time at least.
Laz took off his signature dark brown jacket, letting the soft fabric slide over his skin as he slipped the comfortable and very helpful clothing off. Wearing his usual black shirt to help combat the cold, Laz was just left with that and his trusty pants that he wouldn't trade away in this situation. Letting his body get used to the cold a bit more, Laz had to stop his teeth from chattering too much as he walked a few more paces forward and gently placed the jacket over the shivering girl.
"This should help you."
Laz said as he let go of his only warmer. Well, with that being given and done, Yumi should at least have some kind of protection from the weather at least. Why she was wearing a skirt for something like this was a total blunder for her part. Facing the offensive cold once more, Laz didn't even bother turning back to see wether the girl would be grateful or not and continued trudging up the path.
Well, Laz couldn't really completely blame her. He had his pokemon with him, and having his Walrein and Houndoom would be an immense help for being a possible helper for keeping the cold away, he could have just packed his Xatu with him for an easy retreat. Well, they were there now, and Laz wouldn't want to waste time by going back and changing pokemon. The two will have to make due.
Once he felt he was a bit of a ways off, Laz had to turn back to see Yumi there. Waving his arm up and trying to catch her attention, the red head tried to shout through the blizzard to get the girls attention. He was already near the mouth so the temperature would be fine in a bit, but if Yumi somehow got lost within this distance, it wouldn't exactly be a good thing to see on his record.
"C'mon Yumi! We're almost there!" |

The only thing she had covering her legs were a pair of thin socks, and they didn't even cover all the way up. God, she had been quite dumb to expect anything less, especially after Laz had stated that they were not going here. Obviously a Senior and more experienced student would take a new student to this place, even if they stated otherwise, because it could be a test.
As they walked through the Blizzard and the snow covered ground she felt her legs getting soaked, her body caused the snow on her socks to melt and become water, getting wet in this area would be quite devastating if not directly deadly due to hypothermia. It was then that she felt something reassuring being placed upon her shoulder. Laz had taken of his jacket, and given it to her to protect her already very exposed body from the cold. “Thank you.” She replied gratefully as she smiled at Laz. Aipom quickly saw that she had acquired a jacket and jumped into Yumiko’s arms. It was warmer there now that they were sharing body heat underneath a jacket.
Yumiko heard Laz yell through the Blizzard, she used that and the faint figure of his to find her way to the mouth of the entrance. She quickly went into the Cave however making sure she never got out of Laz’s sight. It was warmer in here, however still quite cold. But Aipom found it warm enough for him not to need to stay in her arms, and therefore jumped down. “So, which way do we go?” She said looking further into the cave, it was quite plausible that there were more than one way through, so Laz’s prior experience would be invaluable.

Best we just keep going straight."
Laz started as he knocked on the icy walls of the cave entrance. It was as cold as he could remembered but then again, everything in this hell hole feels like hell froze over and made its home above ground or something. Knocking on it a bit more, the red head then used it as something of a guide, in order to help mask the noise his feet would make on icy floor and in case there were a few more than fragile sink holes hiding beneath the not so dangerous looking areas. He just wanted to be careful, you know?
Feeling the cold take over again, Laz began to breathe differently, trying to keep the heat in him for as long as possible without losing much energy in the process. Feeling the cold starting to bite in his skin at a lesser degree since it was much warmer and safer inside the actual cave than the outside environment that was in a perpetual snow storm.
"Be careful on the floor. There are a few sink holes that'll just break the moment your foot even dares glide over them."
Laz stated as he kept his pace, and risked the cold rather than falling in a dangerous pit somewhere. His steps had began to sound louder and louder, and the echoing of them had began to last longer. The acoustics of the ice cave, as much as a bitch to traverse it, was getting better for some reason. Feeling the howling of the wind become stronger, Laz had slowly stopped again. While the red head was starting to get some heat back into his skin, his feet continued to move again, trying to gather and help with the heat intake.
"C'mon Yumi, we're almost there. Once you see a path, tell me which one you wanna take and we'll explore there."
Laz announced as he tried to shake off the feeling of the coldness, putting up a still brave and infallible front. Weakness was something he didn't need right now.

However she knew it wouldn't be as easy as that, especially when she noticed Laz doing his thing. She quickly figured that in some places the ice would be very much fragile and very easily stepped on. She had to be careful.
"I will." She replied just after Laz had informed her of the sink-hole danger. She had expected that. Her eyes automatically began to scan the floor even though she was well aware that the danger with sink holes of this kind were that they were very hard to spot, especially if you had the least bit of speed. It would be almost impossible unless they inched along centimeter by centimeter.
Laz were the one who kept speed. He were the one who walked in the front. Yumiko followed right behind him, she followed CLOSELY behind him. She stayed so close that if she were to fall the least bit forward this would become a two piece domino game. However she'd rather run that risk than the risk of falling down into a possible endless sink hole of icy danger. Laz said that they were almost there, and she believed him. She kept her eyes on everything around her. She found the emptiness of the cave disturbing, however it was probably for the best, an angry ice Pokemon would certainly not improve the situation right now.
It took some time, but they finally traversed the most dangerous bit. However the path split into at least three different paths now. This was probably what Laz had been referring to when he said she were to pick which path they took. "Hmmm. Let's take that one!" She said as she pointed towards the one in the far right, nothing bad ever happened in the far right path, ever, it was usually the mid or left. Aipom and Yumiko quickly began to walk that way. Their feet kind of shaky as they did for they were cold and the ice were slippery.

Laz mulled the choice as he kept a sharp eye at the edges of the room. There was indeed an entire shit load of sharp objects just waiting to fall down and stab them with a ferocity of a thousand moons but then again, Vulcan could just burn them down like always and he'd be safe. Tapping the floor lightly, the red head had proceeded to follow Yumi towards her choice.
Feeling the cold biting on to his skin was never a pleasant feeling. His fingers thankfully had a good pair of gloves protecting them and his pants at least insulated the heat that he was giving off and making him somewhat comfortable in them. His foot wear was good enough as well, seeing as they did their job the way they were supposed to.
His jacket was what he really needed, given that it was the one that insulted what heat he released the most, just like his pants did. With the biting cold threatening to swallow him up, Laz had to wave his arms a bit more, trying to get his blood to flow and get some heat there to help him stay warm. Putting his hands across each other and under his arm pits to keep the heat with him, Laz stalked after Yumi, keeping his chattering to a minimum. |

What she needed were some proper pants. However she kinda couldn't ask Laz for his, now could she? No. As she 'lead' the way down the right path, she noticed Laz shaking and freezing as well. It made her feel really bad.
"If you want your jacket back, just say so, I'll deal with the cold." Yumiko said to Laz, it was perfectly understandable if he did. It was after all his, and not hers. She would deal with the cold if she had to. Which she kind of would if he did ask for the jacket back.
However Yumiko shouldn't have been focusing so much on Laz, for the floor was slippery, and her shoes weren't made for keeping a grip in slippery almost icy floors. Before she could even react she had fallen almost head first forwards, only by sheer coincidence had her arms taken most of the fall. But that was not what she focused on, it was the embarrassment that followed when she realized that skirts were a bad idea in case you fell, which she had. Hopefully Laz didn't see too much before she got got herself up on her shaky legs once more.
