Shrub had been let out into the ranch by Kaera to relax a bit. Shrub loved the ranch; it was so large and beautiful. It was the end of the day and Shrub wanted to go relax in the waters of Crystal Lake. But she had another thing on her agenda; she had a particularly deep affection for a Vanillish that she hadn't seen in months. Shortly after she had entered the ranch a Sentret she had gotten to know told her that Xue had been by earlier and hadn't left as far as he knew. Thanking the Sentret, Shrub ran off into the ranch to look for her boyfriend.
The ranch was large, however, and it was hard for a lone Gloom to find any one pokemon. She had some help; asking other pokemon who knew Xue or had seen a Vanillish where he had headed and she ended up criss-crossing the ranch a couple of times before finally spotting Xue hovering along the bank of the lake.
"Gloom!" Xue! she called when she saw him, not entirely certain it was the right Vanillish but hoping. Xue was the only one of his kind she had ever seen on the island so she was semi confident. She walked slowly towards the Vanillish and if he turned around and turned out to be Xue, she'd run and tackle him with hugs.
